Book Final Report Concerning the Solubility of Oxygen in Sulfuric Acid zinc Pressure Leaching Solutions

Download or read book Final Report Concerning the Solubility of Oxygen in Sulfuric Acid zinc Pressure Leaching Solutions written by and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 37 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Investigation for a systematic study of oxygen equilibrium data for the analysis of the pressure leaching process for the recovery of zinc from sulfide concentrates. The solubilities of oxygen were measured at 95C, 125C, 155C, and 185C for three partial pressures of oxygen (4 atm, 7 atm, 10 atm) and for aqueous sulfuric acid solutions containing zinc and iron sulfate salts. A two-stage program for solubility determinations, consisting of a high pressure, high temperature absorption step and a low pressure (atmospheric) desorption step at 50C, was developed and data is reported on oxygen solubilities in the various solutions at 50C and atmospheric pressure. Oxygen solubilities were also measured in a concentrated zinc sulfate solution containing 0.3 g/L of surfactant Lignosol, and in an industrial sample obtained from the pressure leaching unit of Cominco at Trail, B.C.

Book Advances in Gold Ore Processing

Download or read book Advances in Gold Ore Processing written by Mike D. Adams and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2005-12-02 with total page 1077 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The gold processing industry is experiencing change. As free-milling and oxide ores become depleted, more complex polymetallic and refractory ores are being processed, coupled with increasing pressure for stricter environmental compliance. Recent years have also seen a steady reduction in mineral processing and metallurgy graduates and a gradual loss of older operating experience. A contribution to documenting current and future best practice in gold ore processing seems timely. The focus of this volume is on advances in current gold plant operation, from conception to closure; chapters also cover innovations at the bench and pilot-scale level that would be expected to find commercial application at some stage. Sufficient coverage is also given to the chemistry and engineering aspects. The general principle behind the structure of the volume is that of flowsheeting based on unit operations and applied to a mineralogical classification of gold ore types. From concept to closure, this book covers all unit operations, mineralogies and processes that are relevant to dealing with today's complex orebodies. Practical experience is vital to the successful development, operation and closure of any operation. The 42 chapters have been contributed by a total of 66 authors and co-authors who are experts from countries spanning the globe, and representing exhaustive practical knowledge covering many disciplines relevant to gold processing. * Current best practice as elucidated by a select panel of experts in the field* Innovations at the bench and pilot-scale level that would be expected to find commercial application at some stage* Mineralogical-based approach to flowsheeting

Book Solubility of Oxygen in Aqueous Sulphuric Acid metallic Salt Solutions Under Pressure Leaching Conditions

Download or read book Solubility of Oxygen in Aqueous Sulphuric Acid metallic Salt Solutions Under Pressure Leaching Conditions written by Henry Tegani H. Kimweri and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A two-stage absorption-desorption process was used in the determination of the oxygen solubilities. The solutions were saturated with oxygen at high temperatures and pressures and then, the volume of gas desorbed at 101.3 kPa and 323 K, was measured.

Book Pressure Cyanidation

Download or read book Pressure Cyanidation written by Naci Duru and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although the effect of high oxygen pressure at elevated slurry temperatures on gold recoveries was previously investigated, the sole effect of the pressure at ambient temperature on cyanide leaching with the presence of nearly enough oxygen for the cyanide reactions to occur has not been found to be studied. This research work carried out with the objective of investigating the effect of pressure on the recovery of gold from an oxide gold ore and flotation tailings sample the during cyanide leaching process at room temperature. Pressure cyanidation experiments were run in a laboratory scale autoclave under different oxygen and nitrogen gas pressures and pH conditions. Results showed that, gold recoveries of the pressure cyanidation experiments conducted at room temperature were as much as two times higher than the atmospheric leaching conditions for the same leaching times. Oxide ore samples leached at ninety (90) psi nitrogen pressure had thirty-six percent (36%) better recovery, carbon in leach (CIL) feed (flotation tailings samples) leached at the same nitrogen pressure had seventy-seven percent (77%) better recovery compared to atmospheric leaching conditions at the same period of leaching time.

Book Oxidation Leaching of Copper Sulfides in Ammoniacal Pulps at Elevated Temperatures and Pressures

Download or read book Oxidation Leaching of Copper Sulfides in Ammoniacal Pulps at Elevated Temperatures and Pressures written by Martin H. Stanczyk and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bureau of Mines investigated leaching of selected copper sulfide minerals and a composite of impure flotation concentrates at elevated temperatures and pressures with ammoniacal solutions. Copper extractions of 96 percent were obtained by leaching chalcopyrite at 75° C under oxidizing conditions for 60 minutes. An extraction of 99 percent of the copper contained in the composite concentrate was obtained by leaching the product for 90 minutes at 75° C. In tests of bornite, chalcocite, and covellite, 90 to 97 percent of the copper was extracted at 20° C provided an 8-hour reaction period was used. At 75° C essentially complete dissolution of the copper from these three minerals was accomplished in 60 minutes.
