Download or read book The Night Sky written by Richard Grossinger and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 841 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ever since Homo sapiens first looked up at the stars, we as a species have been looking for meaning in the mysteries of the night sky. Over the millennia, as our knowledge, science, and technology developed, the stories we told ourselves about the universe and our place in it developed as well. In The Night Sky, Richard Grossinger traces those developments, covering multiple aspects of humanity's complex relationship to the cosmos. Covering not only astronomy but also cosmology, cosmogony, astrology, and science fiction, he offers us a revelatory look at the firmament through his own telescope, fitted with an anthropological lens. Throughout his explorations, Grossinger continually reflects on the deeper meaning of our changing concepts about the universe and creation, offering insight into how each new discovery causes us to redefine the values, moralities, and aesthetics by which we live. He also calls into question the self-aggrandizing notion that humanity can and will conquer all, and injects our strident confidence in science with a healthy dose of humility and wonder. Filled with poetic observation and profound questions, The Night Sky is a brilliant reflection of humanity's relationship with the cosmos--a relationship fed by longing, doubt, and awe.

Millennia later, she re-appears in the current technocratic system and has recently discovered her true purpose in life. From the books of Mel Bond, a faith practicing minister, she learns how to remove demons from her body and mind. A few encounters with demon spirits trying to enter her body during the night session convince her, that demons exist, and that the method to remove them, works. We follow Eagle Feather through some challenges and how she grows into overcoming them. From a Mel Bond service meeting recording, Eagle Feather is inspired to bring Terry Cotter into the Earth realm to give her life. We learn about how and why Terry Cotter is being created and witness the ceremony where she receives her mandate of co-operating with Eagle Feather. Terry Cotter invisibly watches the recorded teaching presentations of current and former faith practitioners, while Eagle Feather gathers them on her electronic database, to find out whether they work for her. Download or read book The Written World of God written by Dunja Rasic and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-12-07 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Written World of God is the first systematic overview of the science of letters ('ilm al-huruf) according to the great Andalusian spiritual master, scholar, poet and philosopher Ibn 'Arabi (d. 1240). Ibn 'Arabi defined the science of letters as familiarity with the building blocks of the Quranic revelation and everything in the world of nature. Letters are understood as visual and aural signs pointing to the mysteries of existence. The present study examines how the universe came to be, for what purpose it was created and the hierarchical structure it is endowed with. It is an old story told anew - through the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet, their orthographic forms and the meanings attributed to them, using Ibn 'Arabi's own diagrams. Although the story could be told through geometric figures or numbers, letters were chosen on the basis of Ibn 'Arabi's doctrine that the meanings carried by the letters fully encompasses the whole of existence: God and the universe.
Download or read book Contemporary Creed written by John Morris and published by John Hunt Publishing. This book was released on 2012-05-25 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unlike Richard Dawkins, the Revised Edition, Contemporary Creed sees no conflict between evolution and God, faith and modern science. But what sort of God creates a violent universe with a Big Bang almost 14 billion years ago and appears to do little or nothing to prevent built-in suffering and natural disasters like earthquakes, famines, disabled children and cancers? The Christian God leaves a lot unexplained! Some writers give superficial answers whereas Morris — who helps care for his own handicapped grandson — gets to the root of difficulties and succeeds in finding credible pathways through sixty problems of Christian beliefs and ethics. He writes for believers and unbelievers: for Christians like himself who admit their doubts, and for atheists and agnostics interested in life’s big questions. His unusual format of 90% prose and 10% original poetry is entertaining, and the style straightforward everyday language, offering conclusions that are often open-ended, undogmatic. His systematic theology becomes a brief A-Z that may be read in any order for individual Bible study, or by house groups that want a provocative structure for lively discussion. ,
