Or, si la scolarisation des élèves handicapés a connu de nets progrès depuis la promulgation de cette loi, la question de la transition école / vie adulte apparaît toujours comme une étape épineuse du parcours de vie des grands adolescents et des jeunes adultes en situation de handicap. C'est à cette problématique du projet de vie que le dossier s'intéressera, en associant des témoignages de praticiens, qui ont à gérer et à accompagner cette transition du scolaire vers le professionnel (enseignants, chefs d'établissements ou de services, responsables institutionnels), et des résultats de recherches en psychologie, sociologie, sciences de l'éducation ou psychologie sociale. L'objectif poursuivi est de rendre compte de résultats scientifiques éclairants et de pratiques professionnelles efficaces en matière de continuité des parcours des grands adolescents et jeunes adultes en situation de handicap. Trois grandes thématiques structureront ce dossier : la question du parcours scolaire et des accompagnements mis en oeuvre pour préparer à l'emploi et à l'autonomie sociale ; la question des possibilités d'insertion socioprofessionnelle et des modalités d'intégration au monde du travail (en milieu ordinaire ou protégé) ; enfin, la question du devenir adulte, que ce soit en termes d'autonomie, de vie affective et sociale ou d'exercice de ses droits.
