Book Graham s Electroplating Engineering Handbook

Download or read book Graham s Electroplating Engineering Handbook written by L.J. Durney and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1984-11-30 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As an instructor in various finishing courses, I have frequently made the statement over the years that "In the field of metal finishing there is very little black and white, just a great deal of grey. It is the purpose of the instructor to familiarize the student with the beacons that will guide him through this fog. " To a very considerable extent, a handbook such as this serves a similar purpose. It is also subject to similar limitations. Providing all the required information would result in a multi-volume encyclopedia rather than a usable handbook. In the pages that follow, you will therefore find frequent references to other sources where more detailed explanations or information can be found. The present goal is proper guidance and the provision ofthe most frequently required facts, not everything that is available. In the 13 years since the last edition, changes in the finishing industry have been profound but in one sense have resulted in simplifying matters rather than complicating them. Because technology has advanced to a level of complexity rendering "home brew" impracti cal in many cases, dependence on proprietary compounds has become common. Therefore, detailed solution compositions are often no longer significant or even practical. It is thus more important to provide instruction about the factors that affect the choice of the most suitable type of proprietary material.

  • Pages : 404 pages

Download or read book Electroplating written by David Hanson and published by The Crowood Press. This book was released on 2019-02-01 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electroplating in the home workshop can seem a daunting task due to the range of chemicals, the unfamiliar processes and the underlying chemistry involved. However, the results of a well-cleaned item and a well-maintained electrolyte are overwhelmingly impressive and, compared to sending parts to be industrially electroplated, are very cost effective. The practical advice given in Electroplating will provide you with the confidence and ability to create an electroplating tank of your own. This book will guide you through each of the processes and the equipment needed to start your own plating system and, alongside detailed step-by-step photographs and diagrams, provide instructions on their most effective use. It covers: the history and scientific basics of the electroplating process; types of electroplating metals and their function and applications; formulations and ingredients for electroplating solutions; advice on selecting the best equipment to use depending on tank size; detailed processes of cleaning and its vital importance to the final results and finally, safety information including personal safety and the correct disposal of chemicals.

Book Handbook of Thin Film Deposition Processes and Techniques

Download or read book Handbook of Thin Film Deposition Processes and Techniques written by Krishna Seshan and published by William Andrew. This book was released on 2001-02-01 with total page 430 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New second edition of the popular book on deposition (first edition by Klaus Schruegraf) for engineers, technicians, and plant personnel in the semiconductor and related industries. This book traces the technology behind the spectacular growth in the silicon semiconductor industry and the continued trend in miniaturization over the last 20 years. This growth has been fueled in large part by improved thin film deposition techniques and the development of highly specialized equipment to enable this deposition. The book includes much cutting-edge material. Entirely new chapters on contamination and contamination control describe the basics and the issues—as feature sizes shrink to sub-micron dimensions, cleanliness and particle elimination has to keep pace. A new chapter on metrology explains the growth of sophisticated, automatic tools capable of measuring thickness and spacing of sub-micron dimensions. The book also covers PVD, laser and e-beam assisted deposition, MBE, and ion beam methods to bring together all the physical vapor deposition techniques. Two entirely new areas receive full treatment: chemical mechanical polishing which helps attain the flatness that is required by modern lithography methods, and new materials used for interconnect dielectric materials, specifically organic polyimide materials.

Book Advanced Wirebond Interconnection Technology

Download or read book Advanced Wirebond Interconnection Technology written by Shankara K. Prasad and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-05-10 with total page 694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the reviews: "This book is intended for an assembly production house setting, appropriate for management, designers, chief operators, as well as wirebond production engineers. Operational issues such as specifying and optimizing wire and automatic bonders for a product line are included. The book is very good with "visual" explanations for quick grasping of the issues. In addition, the fundamental metallurgical or mechanical root causes behind material and process choices are presented. The book has a clear prose style and a very readable font and page layout. The figures, although effective, are simply low resolution screen prints from a personal computer and thus have aliasing and fuzziness. This book has excellent overall tutorial and enough description of wire and bonding equipment so the reader could specify and negotiate correctly for with suppliers. The majority of the book dwells on establishing the bonding process for a particular product; determining the "window" of adjustments. The book ends with discussions on establishing quality metrics and reliability assurance tests. Each chapter of the book includes enough tutorial information to allow it to alone with little need to page backwards. A short but good reference section is at the end. If you have not read a wirebonding book, or the one you read 10 years ago was borrowed and never returned, now is the time to buy this book." ( CMPT Newsletter, June 2005)

Book Injection Molding Handbook

Download or read book Injection Molding Handbook written by D.V. Rosato and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 1484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This third edition has been written to thoroughly update the coverage of injection molding in the World of Plastics. There have been changes, including extensive additions, to over 50% of the content of the second edition. Many examples are provided of processing different plastics and relating the results to critiCal factors, which range from product design to meeting performance requirements to reducing costs to zero-defect targets. Changes have not been made that concern what is basic to injection molding. However, more basic information has been added concerning present and future developments, resulting in the book being more useful for a long time to come. Detailed explanations and interpretation of individual subjects (more than 1500) are provided, using a total of 914 figures and 209 tables. Throughout the book there is extensive information on problems and solutions as well as extensive cross referencing on its many different subjects. This book represents the ENCYCLOPEDIA on IM, as is evident from its extensive and detailed text that follows from its lengthy Table of CONTENTS and INDEX with over 5200 entries. The worldwide industry encompasses many hundreds of useful plastic-related computer programs. This book lists these programs (ranging from operational training to product design to molding to marketing) and explains them briefly, but no program or series of programs can provide the details obtained and the extent of information contained in this single sourcebook.
