Download or read book OG SON OF FIRE the Pre historic adventures of Og written by Irving Crump and published by Abela Publishing Ltd. This book was released on 2020-03-05 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a classic story of early mankind. Og is a boy living in prehistory at a time when fire is just starting to be used. This is a time when the battle with carnivorous beasts occurred on a daily basis and rival tribes fought each other for supremacy. Survival is a key element in this story which can be used to show young people just how fortunate they are that they don’t have to face such dangers on a daily basis. Some of the 19 stories in this volume are: The Call of Cooked Meat, The Fire Demon, The Crack in the Earth, The First Camp Fire, In Which the Wolf Becomes Dog, At Bay With the Wolf Pack, Captive of the Tree People, The Python’s Coils. The first stories of Og, a cave boy who lived half a million years ago, appeared on the pages of Boys' Life, the Boy Scout magazine (USA), in December, 1921. They were written by Irving Crump [1887-1979], a writer and editor of Boys' Life, and in 1922 they were published as a book, "Og - Son of Fire." A US nation-wide radio show, "Og - Son of Fire" aired in 1934-35, hosted by Libby. It was originally aired by WBBM, Chicago and later by WABC, New York and then over the CBS radio network. It was accompanied by premiums and the publication of a Whitman "Big Little Book" in 1936 which was converted into a Dell comic in 1937. ================ KEYWORDS/TAGS: Og Son of Fire, story, stories, young adult, folklore, young adult fiction, action, adventure, prehistory, carnivorous, animals, rival, tribe, survival, fight, outwit, danger, apes, blackness, boy, burn, canyon, cavern, caves, cliff, courage, crouch, Demon, fire, flames, forest, giant, Gog, hairy, huge, hunter, hunting, leader, man, meat, mountain, odor, odour, Og, pack, people, realization, Scar, stones, tiger, valley, Wab, warmth, wolf, wolves, woods, show of strength, unity, togetherness, baby, radio show, action comic, beasts, tree house, tree living, flee, scarper,

Download or read book Abominable Snowmen written by Ivan T. Sanderson and published by Cosimo, Inc.. This book was released on 2008-11-01 with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scottish zoologist IVAN TERRANCE SANDERSON (1911-1973) coined the word cryptozoology and first used it in print in this hard-to-find 1961 work, the story of "hairy hominids" across the planet from the very beginnings of human civilization until the mid 20th century. With its scientific, anthropological approach, this is one of the first books to treat the phenomenon of "Bigfoot" seriously, and introduced a groundbreaking classification system for the spectrum of subhumanoids. "I am happy that a whole new generation of cryptozoologists-in-training will be able to read Ivan T. Sanderson's classic book," says cryptozoologist Loren Coleman in his new introduction. "This book opened the minds of many to the vastness of the hominoid reports... and spotlighted for people that Bigfoot/Sasquatch research was the next area for exploration in North America." This new edition, complete with the original illustrations and maps, is part of Cosimo's Loren Coleman Presents series. LOREN COLEMAN is author of numerous books of cryptozoology, including Bigfoot!: The True Story of Apes in America and Mothman and Other Curious Encounters.

Download or read book Ontologies of Rock Art written by Oscar Moro Abadía and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-03-03 with total page 539 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ontologies of Rock Art is the first publication to explore a wide range of ontological approaches to rock art interpretation, constituting the basis for groundbreaking studies on Indigenous knowledges, relational metaphysics, and rock imageries. The book contributes to the growing body of research on the ontology of images by focusing on five main topics: ontology as a theoretical framework; the development of new concepts and methods for an ontological approach to rock art; the examination of the relationships between ontology, images, and Indigenous knowledges; the development of relational models for the analysis of rock images; and the impact of ontological approaches on different rock art traditions across the world. Generating new avenues of research in ontological theory, political ontology, and rock art research, this collection will be relevant to archaeologists, anthropologists, and philosophers. In the context of an increasing interest in Indigenous ontologies, the volume will also be of interest to scholars in Indigenous studies.
