Concretamente, se hace hincapié en el déficit de atención con o sin hiperactividad en la infancia y en los problemas de atención en las personas mayores. Acaba con la presentación de una serie de estrategias para mejorar la memoria. Cada capítulo consta de un índice, un resumen de las ideas más importantes que se van a desarrollar, seguido de los contenidos en los que aparecen actividades para realizar, figuras, tablas y recuadros. Le siguen las secciones de lecturas recomendadas, palabras clave (que aparecen en un glosario) y preguntas de revisión.
