Perhaps you are just opening to the spiritual journey of learning who you are and why you're here on Mother Earth. Maybe you've already been walking this path, but you sense that something is still missing. Your soul is calling you toward your divine mission. This book will help you to step ever closer to that sacred calling. It will teach you about the world of psychics and mediums, about your angels and guides and how to receive their blessings and messages, about rising above society's conditioning, and about following profound spiritual practices. Most of all, this book will gently assure you and remind you that you are indeed a spiritual being and that even if others see you as "different," you really can do whatever your heart desires. "The Visionary Messenger opens the door and turns on the light to the gifts that we have suppressed within us due to the negative influences of the physical world. Through sharing her story, Adele, helps us to identify that yes, we too, were born with the ability to connect with The Creator of All That Is, angels, guides, teachers and deceased loved ones. She explains the conceptual realities of connecting with something greater than ourselves - the possibilities, the peace, and the fulfillment of being true to the core of whom and what we are and the love. The Visionary Messenger is not just Adele's story, like so many spiritual books. Within its pages are introductory tools and teachings to help one discern the level of interest and commitment to one's spiritual journey. A knowing will stir within, that "yes, there is more." The unsettled, restless feelings that have been suppressed will insist on moving you forward in the search for answers. The Visionary Messenger will help you begin to set a firm foundation to experience fulfillment of your spiritual journey - are you ready to look within and pull forth your power, to enlighten yourself and achieve the fulfillment of your mission here on Mother Earth?"-Kathryn Large, Founder of Soul Kisses In all these things I write and give to you in these pages, please remember, I know on many levels this book will tweak you in your belief structures and in who you are. That is only one area of what this book is about, I give you the keys in which to unlock the doors to your own Divine Mission and purpose in this lifetime. One that will assist you in opening your eyes to the real Reality in which you live each day.

Book Edgar Allan Poe and the Masses

Download or read book Edgar Allan Poe and the Masses written by Terence Whalen and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2021-09-14 with total page 515 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Edgar Allan Poe has long been viewed as an artist who was hopelessly out of step with his time. But as Terence Whalen shows, America's most celebrated romantic outcast was in many ways the nation's most representative commercial writer. Whalen explores the antebellum literary environment in which Poe worked, an environment marked by economic conflict, political strife, and widespread foreboding over the rise of a mass audience. The book shows that the publishing industry, far from being a passive backdrop to writing, threatened to dominate all aspects of literary creation. Faced with financial hardship, Poe desperately sought to escape what he called "the magazine prison-house" and "the horrid laws of political economy." By placing Poe firmly in economic context, Whalen unfolds a new account of the relationship between literature and capitalism in an age of momentous social change. The book combines pathbreaking historical research with innovative literary theory. It includes the first fully-documented account of Poe's response to American slavery and the first exposé of his plot to falsify circulation figures. Whalen also provides a new explanation of Poe's ambivalence toward nationalism and exploration, a detailed inquiry into the conflict between cryptography and common knowledge, and a general theory of Poe's experiments with new literary forms such as the detective story. Finally, Whalen shows how these experiments are directly linked to the dawn of the information age. This book redefines Poe's place in American literature and casts new light on the emergence of a national culture before the Civil War.

Book Lead Positive

Download or read book Lead Positive written by Kathryn D. Cramer and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2014-02-17 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to implement effecitve, magnetic leadership by applying asset-based thinking and shifting your mindset from the negative to the positive Lead Positive takes the fundamentals of Asset-Based Thinking (ABT) and turns them into a playbook for successful leadership. ABT is a simple mindset management process that shows people how to make small shifts in perception and thinking to achieve great results. Cramer shows leaders how to apply ABT to shift their attention away from what is negative and learn to intentionally shine the spotlight on the positive, beneficial facts of a situation. As they make this mental shift from negative to positive aspects, they improve their optimism, empathy, and confidence. When their mindset zooms in on what is strong, valuable, and possible, what they say and do is far more likely to inspire others to action. In short, ABT helps leaders shift internally so they can excel externally. Lead Positive weaves neuroscience and positive psychology to create effective leadership strategies.

Book Ladies Book of Etiquette and Manual of Polit ness

Download or read book Ladies Book of Etiquette and Manual of Polit ness written by Florence Hartley and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 1860 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do unto others as you would others should do to you. You can never be rude if you bear the rule always in mind, for what lady likes to be treated rudely? True Christian politeness will always be the result of an unselfish regard for the feelings of others, and though you may err in the ceremonious points of etiquette, you will never be im polite. Politeness, founded upon such a rule, becomes the expression, in graceful manner, of social virtues. The spirit of politeness consists in a certain attention to forms and ceremonies, which are meant both to please others and ourselves, and to make others pleased with us ;a still clearer definition may be given by saying that politeness is goodness of heart put into daily practice; the.re can be no true, politeness without kindness, purity, singleness of heart, and sensibility. Many believe that politeness is but a mask worn in the world to conceal bad passions and impulses, and to make a show of possessing virtues not really existing in the heart; thus, that politeness is merely hypocrisy and dissimulation. Do not believe this; be certain that those who profess such a doctrine are practising themselves the deceit they condemn so much.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A manifesto for a radically different philosophy and practice of manufacture and environmentalism "Reduce, reuse, recycle" urge environmentalists; in other words, do more with less in order to minimize damage. But as this provocative, visionary book argues, this approach perpetuates a one-way, "cradle to grave" manufacturing model that dates to the Industrial Revolution and casts off as much as 90 percent of the materials it uses as waste, much of it toxic. Why not challenge the notion that human industry must inevitably damage the natural world? In fact, why not take nature itself as our model? A tree produces thousands of blossoms in order to create another tree, yet we do not consider its abundance wasteful but safe, beautiful, and highly effective; hence, "waste equals food" is the first principle the book sets forth. Products might be designed so that, after their useful life, they provide nourishment for something new-either as "biological nutrients" that safely re-enter the environment or as "technical nutrients" that circulate within closed-loop industrial cycles, without being "downcycled" into low-grade uses (as most "recyclables" now are). Elaborating their principles from experience (re)designing everything from carpeting to corporate campuses, William McDonough and Michael Braungart make an exciting and viable case for change.

Download or read book Fear and Trembling written by Soren Kierkegaard and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2013-01-18 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In our time nobody is content to stop with faith but wants to go further. It would perhaps be rash to ask where these people are going, but it is surely a sign of breeding and culture for me to assume that everybody has faith, for otherwise it would be queer for them to be . . . going further. In those old days it was different, then faith was a task for a whole lifetime, because it was assumed that dexterity in faith is not acquired in a few days or weeks. When the tried oldster drew near to his last hour, having fought the good fight and kept the faith, his heart was still young enough not to have forgotten that fear and trembling which chastened the youth, which the man indeed held in check, but which no man quite outgrows. . . except as he might succeed at the earliest opportunity in going further. Where these revered figures arrived, that is the point where everybody in our day begins to go further.

Book The Future of Nursing

  • Author : Institute of Medicine
  • Publisher : National Academies Press
  • Release : 2011-02-08
  • ISBN : 0309208955
  • Pages : 700 pages

Download or read book The Future of Nursing written by Institute of Medicine and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2011-02-08 with total page 700 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Future of Nursing explores how nurses' roles, responsibilities, and education should change significantly to meet the increased demand for care that will be created by health care reform and to advance improvements in America's increasingly complex health system. At more than 3 million in number, nurses make up the single largest segment of the health care work force. They also spend the greatest amount of time in delivering patient care as a profession. Nurses therefore have valuable insights and unique abilities to contribute as partners with other health care professionals in improving the quality and safety of care as envisioned in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) enacted this year. Nurses should be fully engaged with other health professionals and assume leadership roles in redesigning care in the United States. To ensure its members are well-prepared, the profession should institute residency training for nurses, increase the percentage of nurses who attain a bachelor's degree to 80 percent by 2020, and double the number who pursue doctorates. Furthermore, regulatory and institutional obstacles-including limits on nurses' scope of practice-should be removed so that the health system can reap the full benefit of nurses' training, skills, and knowledge in patient care. In this book, the Institute of Medicine makes recommendations for an action-oriented blueprint for the future of nursing.
