Book excerpt: Această lucrare, rezultat al unei colaborări de peste cinci ani între studenții spanioli interesați de studiul limbii române și profesoara Dana Oprica, este un instrument care vine să completeze cu și mai multe aspecte de limbă și de cultură cunoștințele celor care studiază limba română sau călătoresc în România. Fiecare temă e precedată de câteva date de interes cultural care prezintă câteva orientări legate de formulele de salut, de realizarea unei vizite, de obiceiurile românilor de sărbători, de normele de circulație s.a. Ca noutate am introdus glosare de expresii și exclamații, interjecții și onomatopee, alături de un vocabular tabu, care nu depășește limitele decenței și care ajută la cunoașterea unor formule familiare. Reiterăm ideea că această lucrare a fost inspirată de necesitățile vorbitorilor de limbă spaniolă, precum studenții noștri, care au călătorit și călătoresc frecvent în România și care ne-au prezentat diverse situații reale pe care le-am explicat prin intermediul acestui ghid. Într-una dintre vizitele făcute într-un sat din Bistrița, un spaniol ne-a povestit că a fost salutat cu sărut mâna de un grup de copii care treceau pe uliță. Am inclus această situație sociolingvistică la capitolul corespunzător. Farmecul limbii române constă și în varietatea lexicală adecvată diferitelor contexte sau registre de limbaj. Este trabajo, resultado de una colaboración desde hace más de cinco años entre los estudiantes españoles interesados en el estudio de la lengua rumana y la profesora Dana Oprica, es un instrumento que viene a completar con más aspectos de lengua y cultura los conocimientos de los que estudian la lengua rumana o viajan a Rumanía. Cada tema está precedida por algunos datos de interés cultural que presentan unas orientaciones relacionadas con las fórmulas de saludo, con la realización de una visita, con las costumbres de los rumanos en fiestas, con las normas de circulación, etc. Como novedad hemos introducido glosarios de expresiones y exclamaciones, interjecciones y onomatopeyas, junto a un vocabulario tabú, que no sobrepasa las límites de la decencia y que ayuda a conocer algunas fórmulas familiares. Recalcamos la idea que este trabajo fue inspirado de las necesidades de los hablantes de lengua española, como nuestros estudiantes, que han viajado y viajan frecuentemente a Rumanía y que nos han presentado varias situaciones reales que explicamos a través de esta guía. Para poner un ejemplo, durante una de sus visitas en un pueblo recóndito de Bistrița, un español nos contó que fue saludado con sărut mâna (le beso la mano) por un grupo de niños, que pasaban por la calle. Incluimos esta situación sociolingüística en el capitulo correspondiente. El encanto de la lengua rumana consta también en la variedad lexical adecuada a los diferentes contextos y registros lingüísticos.

Book excerpt: The Discourse of Tourism and National Heritage: A Contrastive Study from a Cultural Perspective presents an in-depth research study in the field of online tourism promotion. It focuses on the national online promotion of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, on two different types of websites â " institutional and commercial â " from three countries, Romania, Spain and Great Britain. The book analyses the way in which each country combines various modes to create a virtual brochure with a promotional message from both institutional and commercial positions. In doing this, it studies the organization of the websites and their webpages, as well as the lexico-grammatical and visual features of their promotional messages. The theoretical framework used is Systemic Functional Linguistics (Halliday 1985, 1994; Kress and van Leeuwen 1996, 2006; Halliday and Matthiessen 2004). The results are compared in relation to the types of websites and to the countries in which they were produced. These are further interpreted from a cultural perspective, showing that the findings can be accounted for by cultural variability, in particular the dimension of context (Hall 1976, 1990, 2000).
