Book excerpt: The Theory of Matrix series of books offers the exiting developments in cosmological theory. We combine elements of psychology, cosmology, and astrophysics to discover secrets hidden deep in the Universe.'Gravity and Rotation' is the 4th book of the series. In this book, we summarise the general part of the Theory of Matrix related to the specific aspects of gravity and gravitational acceleration, antigravity and rotation of high energy massive radiating systems and the associated rotation of cosmic background radiation. We analyse the specific geometry of the Earth and the influence of the Matrix forces. In 1920 Ernst Gehrcke made a point, 'besides other things, it remained unanswered, where this energy of this gravitational field is coming from.' We hope to solve the riddle in this book. Stay well, and enjoy your reading. Yours sincerely, Audrey Elizabeth Randles JULY 28, 2020

Book Gravity Field and Dynamics of the Earth

Download or read book Gravity Field and Dynamics of the Earth written by Milan Bursa and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-01 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the Czech edition was published four years ago, the authors have revised the original text tobring it up to date. During these four years, thanks to satellite altimetry the accuracy of the global descrip tion of the gravity field (model GEM-T2), of the fundamental astro geodetic constants, of the principal moments of inertia of the Earth and, in particular, of their differences, of the precession constant, and of a number of other dynamical parameters of the Earth have been improved. The authors have included most of these improvements in the revised English edition. They have, of course, also made factual, formal and other corrections and have modified some of the figures. Additions to the index and references have also been made. Praha, Czech Republic M. BuRSA and K. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the Sixth Course of the International School of Cosmology and Gravitation of the "Ettore Maj orana" Centre for Scientific Cul ture we choose as the principal topics torsion and supergravity, because in our opinion it is one of the principal tasks of today's theoretical physics to attempt to link together the theory of ele mentary particles and general relativity. Our aim was to delineate the present status of the principal efforts directed toward this end, and to explore possible directions of work in the near future. Efforts to incorporate spin as a dynamic variable into the foundations of the theory of gravitation were poineered by E. Cartan, whose contributions to this problem go back half a century. Accord ing to A. Trautman this so-called Einstein-Cartan theory is the sim plest and most natural modification of Einstein's 1916 theory. F. Hehl has contributed a very detailed and comprehensive analysis of this topic, original view of non-Riemannian space-time. Characteristic of Einstein-Cartan theories is the enrichment of Riemannian geometry by torsion, the non-symmetric part of the otherwise metric-compatible affine connection. Torsion has a impact on the theory of elementary particles. According to V. de Sabbata, weak interactions can be based on the Einstein-Cartan geometry, in that the Lagrangian describing weak interactions and torsion inter- action possess analogous structures, leading to a unification of weak and gravitational forces.

Book excerpt: Mesklin is a vast, inhospitable, disc-shaped planet, so cold that its oceans are liquid methane and its snows are frozen ammonia. It is a world spinning dizzyingly, a world where gravity can be a crushing 700 times greater than Earth's, a world too hostile for human explorers. But the planet holds secrets of inestimable value, and an unmanned probe that has crashed close to one of its poles must be recovered. Only the Mesklinites, the small creatures so bizarrely adapted to their harsh environment, can help. And so Barlennan, the resourceful and courageous captain of the Mesklinite ship Bree, sets out on an heroic and appalling journey into the terrible unknown. For him and his people, the prize to be gained is as great as that for mankind... Hal Clement's MISSION OF GRAVITY is universally regarded as one of the most important and best loved novels in the genre. The remarkable and sympathetic depiction of an alien species and the plausible and scientifically based realisation of the strange world they inhabit make it a major landmark in the history of hard SF.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gravity from a New Angle is a comprehensive analysis of fundamental concepts in Physics. Concepts like force, work, power and energy were developed over a period of centuries. In depth analysis of these concepts reveals that there is overlap in the way these concepts were defined. As a result, the concept of resultant force obscured the true understanding of energy interactions. Solution to most intriguing problems in Physics like Pioneer anomaly and unified theory relies on answers to the very basic questions. Does an object retain its mass when it collapses to a point mass? What is the amount of gravity at the center of the earth? In a chemical reaction between carbon and oxygen to form CO2, which atom releases the energy? Object gains mass or gravity when it collapses to a point size. Earth exerts enormous amount of gravity on an object kept at its center. Contrary to the wide spread belief, the energy in an combustion comes from the oxygen atom, which we should call as the fuel not the carbon atom. The flaws in fundamental concepts like the mass and force led our understanding of physical phenomenon in a wrong direction. By redefining these basic concepts in accordance with the observed facts, we can explain all the observed facts in an unified way. (Version 1.2)

Download or read book The Rotation of Sun and Stars written by Jean-Pierre Rozelot and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-01-08 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sun and stars rotate in di?erent ways and at di?erent velocity rates. The knowledge of how they rotate is important in understanding the formation and evolution of stars and their structure. The closest star to our Earth, the Sun, is a good laboratory to study in detail the rotation of a G star and allows to test new ideas and develop new techniques to study stellar rotation. More or less massive, more or lessevolved objects, however, can have averydi?erent rotation rate, structure and history. In recent years our understanding of the rotation of the Sun has greatly improved. The Sun has a well-known large-scale rotation, which can be m- sured thanks to visible features across the solar disk, such as sunspots, or via spectroscopy. In addition, several studies cast light on di?erential rotation in the convective zone and on meridional circulation in the radiative zone of the Sun. Even the rotation of the core of the Sun can now be studied thanks to various methods, such as dynamics of the gravitational moments and of course, helioseismology, through g-modes analysis. Moreover, the magnetic ?eld is strongly linked to the matter motions in the solar plasma. The solar magnetic ?eld can be measured only at the surface or in theupperlayers.Itistheproductoftheinternaldynamoorofthelocaldynamos if they exist – in any case magnetic ?eld and rotation cannot thus be separated.

Book Modification of Vestibular Responses as a Function of Rate of Rotation about an Earth horizontal Axis

Download or read book Modification of Vestibular Responses as a Function of Rate of Rotation about an Earth horizontal Axis written by Manning J. Correia and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study was made to compare nystagmic and subjective responses elicited at 10 RPM with responses elicited at 30 RPM when the axis of rotation was horizontal. When the same subjects were rotated about an Earth -horizontal axis at 10 and 30 RPM, the following differences in responses were noted: (1) Subjects who produced a unidirectional horizontal nystagmus throughout rotation at 10 RPM produced a reversing horizontal nystagmus after an interval (30 - 60 seconds) of rotation at 30 RPM. (2) Subjects, who gave veridical estimates of body orientation at 10 RPM, became disoriented at 30 RPM when nystagmus commenced reversing. At both 10 and 30 RPM a cyclic modulation of nystagmus was related to orientation relative to gravity. As in previous studies, sickness was produced by rotation about a horizontal axis, and a relationship between mental task and incidence of sickness was again noted. (Author).

Book Gravity and Low Frequency Geodynamics

Download or read book Gravity and Low Frequency Geodynamics written by Roman Teisseyre and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This fourth volume in the series Physics and Evolution of the Earth's Interior, provides a comprehensive review of the geophysical and geodetical aspects related to gravity and low-frequency geodynamics. Such aspects include the Earth's gravity field, geoid shape theory, and low-frequency phenomena like rotation, oscillations and tides.Global-scale phenomena are treated as a response to source excitation in spherical Earth models consisting of several shells: lithosphere, mantle, core and sometimes also the inner solid core. The effect of gravitation and rotation on the Earth's shape is analysed. The satellite approach to studies of the gravity field and the geoid shape is discussed in some detail. Discussions of recent findings and developments are accompanied by a brief historical background.
