Book excerpt: Founder of the National Society for Graphology, Felix Klein began his study of graphology in his birthplace, Vienna, Austria, at the age of thirteen. He was a practicing graphologist all of his life and lectured and gave seminars throughout the United States and in Canada, England, Germany, Israel and Mexico. Mr. Klein came to the United States in 1940 after spending six months each in the concentration camps at Dachau and Buchenwald. While in those camps he formulated his theory of directional pressure as a result of studying changes in the handwriting of his fellow inmates. Mr. Klein did extensive work in personnel selection for major companies and banks, vocational guidance, and individual analyses, as well as forensic document examination for such entities as the U.N., AT&T, and a major political figure in Ghana, Africa. It was probably as a teacher that Felix was most known and loved. He held classes and offered correspondence courses in all levels of graphology: elementary, intermediate, advanced, Master Research, and Psychology for Graphologists. Wherever Felix spoke, his warm, caring personality and his naturalness and keen sense of humor generated enthusiastic responses from young and old alike.

Book The Psychology of the Enneagram Applied to Graphology A Collection of Articles ENGLISH VERSION

Download or read book The Psychology of the Enneagram Applied to Graphology A Collection of Articles ENGLISH VERSION written by Claudio Garibaldi and published by Youcanprint. This book was released on 2018-03-16 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The enneagram outlines the true nature of what motivates our psychological and spiritual being while graphic movement is an unconscious process recorded on paper through the movements of our hand. Ognigraphy is a highly individualized phenomenon that reflects the dynamic synthesis of the existential history, of the biological constitution and of the mental and emotional states of each of us. Our enneatype plays a fundamental role in the way we manifest ourselves in the world, inevitably also influencing our graphic movement. This makes it possible to investigate the links between the enneagram and the graphology. Our handwriting is an objective expression of ourselves and as such it is a valuable support for the identification of our enneatype and also allows us to verify the changes that have occurred over time. This series of articles - in English - explores the patterns of the graphic movement of the nine types of the heneagram and introduces the potentials of the integrated use of enneagram and graphology as a means of self-knowledge and understanding of others.

Book Cultural Graphology

Download or read book Cultural Graphology written by Juliet Fleming and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2018-05-02 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Cultural Graphology” could be the name of a new human science: this was Derrida’s speculation when, in the late 1960s, he imagined a discipline that combined psychoanalysis, deconstruction, and a commitment to the topic of writing. He never undertook the project himself but did leave two brief sketches of how he thought cultural graphology might proceed. In this book, Juliet Fleming picks up where Derrida left off. Using both his early and later thought, and the psychoanalytic texts to which it is addressed, to examine the print culture of early modern England, she drastically unsettles some key assumptions of book history. Fleming shows that the single most important lesson to survive from Derrida’s early work is that we do not know what writing is. Channeling Derrida’s thought into places it has not been seen before, she examines printed errors, spaces, and ornaments (topics that have hitherto been marginal to our accounts of print culture) and excavates the long-forgotten reading practice of cutting printed books. Proposing radical deformations to the meanings of fundamental and apparently simple terms such as “error,” “letter,” “surface,” and “cut,” Fleming opens up exciting new pathways into our understanding of writing all told.
