Book Grace the Forbidden Gospel

Download or read book Grace the Forbidden Gospel written by Andre Van Der Merwe and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you've never been exposed to hearing the gospel preached by Paul the Apostle in its pure, undiluted form, this book might offend and possibly even anger you. The Gospel of Grace has been outlawed and frowned upon by most organized religious institutions. Take courage though, there is a generation of believers rising up in the earth whose eyes are opening to the truth of the gospel of grace - a wave of people that has grown fed up with the way that church is done: Either good news is preached with some guilt and manipulation mixed in, or church services take the form of well orchestrated shows. Many believers' entire lives are reduced to nothing more than a sin management program, running the endless treadmill of trying to please God by doing more for Him or trying to sin less. If you have been raised with religion, then understanding the Gospel of Grace may involve unlearning most of what you have learnt through the years. It may initially feel as though the carpet is being plucked from under your feet, but as the perfume of God's love rises and the truth of the Word begins to set you free, you will find yourself unable to resist the Father's romantic advances, drawing you into Himself for a deeper experience of who He is.

Book excerpt: A gripping story of how an entire family, deeply enmeshed in Mormonism for thirty years, found their way out and found faith in Jesus Christ. For thirty years, Lynn Wilder, once a tenured faculty member at Brigham Young University, and her family lived in, loved, and promoted the Mormon Church. Then their son Micah, serving his Mormon mission in Florida, had a revelation: God knew him personally. God loved him. And the Mormon Church did not offer the true gospel. Micah's conversion to Christ put the family in a tailspin. They wondered, Have we believed the wrong thing for decades? If we leave Mormonism, what does this mean for our safety, jobs, and relationships? Is Christianity all that different from Mormonism anyway? As Lynn tells her story of abandoning the deception of Mormonism to receive God's grace, she gives a rare look into Mormon culture, what it means to grow up Mormon, and why the contrasts between Mormonism and Christianity make all the difference in the world. Whether you are in the Mormon Church, are curious about Mormonism, or simply are looking for a gripping story, Unveiling Grace will strengthen your faith in the true God who loves you no matter what.

  • Publisher : Crossway

  • Pages : 146 pages

Download or read book A Meal with Jesus written by Tim Chester and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2011-04-07 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meals have always been important across societies and cultures, a time for friends and families to come together. An important part of relationships, meals are vital to our social health. Author Tim Chester sums it up: "Food connects." Chester argues that meals are also deeply theological—an important part of Christian fellowship and mission. He observes that the book of Luke is full of stories of Jesus at meals. These accounts lay out biblical principles. Chester notes, "The meals of Jesus represent something bigger." Six chapters in A Meal with Jesus show how they enact grace, community, hope, mission, salvation, and promise. Moving from biblical times to the modern world, Chester applies biblical truth to challenge our contemporary understandings of hospitality. He urges sacrificial giving and loving around the table, helping readers consider how meals can be about serving others and sharing the grace of Christ.

Download or read book The Revelation of Grace written by Eddie Snipes and published by . This book was released on 2015-03-23 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the greatest hindrances within the church is that Christians don't believe what God has declared, that those who are in Christ have been freed from both sin, and the law that condemned sin. Scriptures teach that through one man, Adam, sin came into the world, and through that offense, mankind came under bondage to sin. Yet the Bible then explains that the grace that came through Christ much more abounded over the sin that came through Adam, and that Jesus appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.God declared that His grace much more abounded over sin, but the church believes that sin abounds over the grace that came through Christ. We have been taught to believe that our sin can defeat the work of Christ, instead of being taught that as we learn to walk in grace by faith, sin cannot stand. People resist what has been called hypergrace because they fear sin, when the Bible teaches that sin cannot have dominion over those who walk by faith.God has revealed grace so we can understand that there is no barrier between us and perfect fellowship with God. The Old Testament believers were forbidden to come into God's presence, but once Christ conquered sin, the veil that stood between us and God's holiness was torn from heaven's side down to man. Now we are commanded to come confidently before God without fear, because Jesus made and end of sin. Until you understand grace, and how it is the defeat of sin, you will never grow beyond superficial Christianity. My prayer is that this book will be a tool to guide you into faith in His grace.

Download or read book The Doctrines of Grace written by Charles H. Spurgeon and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2008-12-05 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My own private opinion is that there is no such thing as preaching Christ and him crucified, unless you preach what now-a-days is called Calvinism. It is a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else. I do not believe we can preach the gospel, if we do not preach justification by faith, without works; nor unless we preach the sovereignty of God in his dispensation of grace; nor unless we exalt the electing, unchangeable, eternal, immutable, conquering, love of Jehovah: nor do I think we can preach the gospel, unless we base it upon the peculiar redemption which Christ made for his elect and chosen people; nor can I comprehend a gospel which lets saints fall away after they are called, and suffers the children of God to be burned in the fires of damnation after having believed. Such a gospel I abhor. The gospel of the Bible is not such a gospel. We preach Christ crucified in a different fashion, and to all gainsayers we reply. "We have not so learned Christ." (Charles Spurgeon)

Book Grace and the Great Controversy

Download or read book Grace and the Great Controversy written by Gordon Kainer and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2010-07-07 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author reveals how grace is the heart of the gospel'a liberating, life-giving and comforting melody throughout the Bible. Grace is our certainty of eternal life and God's all-encompassing acceptance. Without grace, our religious beliefs are bad news, thus this book's advice, Grace: never leave home without it! Learn how God's grace is absolute and all inclusive; something we never deserve or earn! Grace offers the most refreshing peace we will ever know. Grace is the solution to every problem and menacing crisis threatening our planet. Rightly understood, grace points exclusively and continuously to Jesus. Then why is God's gift of grace so controversial or even difficult for Christians to accept? Could it be because grace is totally unbelievable, unexpected and undeserved? Is this why legalism, the enemy of grace, is so common and hard to recognize in ourselves? Grappling with these questions, the author reveals how, from Eden to our day, cradled at the very heart of the great controversy is grace.

Book excerpt: Eight gospel-centered strategies for overcoming the lure of pornography and finally breaking free. This book is not about pornography. You won't find graphic depictions about the porn industry, the catastrophic effects it has on individuals and relationships, or how to think differently about porn. If you're reading this book, you probably have some understanding of those things already—the last thing you need is to be subjected to that kind of detail...again. Finally Free is about hope. It's about discovering the freeing power available to those who trust in Jesus Christ, who can, will, and does set people free from the power of pornography. Dr. Heath Lambert, a leader in the biblical counseling movement, has organized this book around eight clear and practical tactics you can wield to make it easier to flee lust and temptation and shelter in the protection of God's grace. Each chapter: Clearly demonstrates how the gospel applies to the fight against sexual temptation. Lays out relevant methods for leaning on Christ's strength—both in advance of and in moments of temptation. Explains how Jesus can move readers from a life of struggle to a life of purity. If you've struggled personally against the powerful draw of pornography, or if you've ever tried to help someone fighting this battle, you know how hard it is to break its bonds. But there is good news: no matter how intense or long-standing the struggle, Jesus Christ has the power to free people from the enslaving power of pornography. The Gospel has a power that works practically in the lives of those who seek to imitate Christ—and you can learn how to live into that power.
