The Committee used the unfortunate experience of HA to identify weaknesses in preparedness & recovery efforts, but it offers recommendations from a statewide perspective. Current predictions that FL is at risk to be hit by more frequent & stronger hurricanes in the future adds urgency to the need to act quickly.

Additionally, the book's authoring committee makes recommendations about the necessary approaches to elevate national resilience to disasters in the United States.
