Book excerpt: Did Jesus Really Exist? The search for the historical Jesus continues to be headline news. Any speculative theory seems to get instant attention as the debate rages about His real identity and the claims made in His name. Did Jesus really exist? Is there real historical evidence that demonstrates that He lived and actually said and did the things the Gospels record? Is there any validity to the speculative claims that the Jesus story was a myth, borrowed from a variety of pagan cultures of the ancient world? In this follow-up to the book God’s Not Dead (that inspired the movie), Man, Myth, Messiah looks at the evidence for the historical Jesus and exposes the notions of skeptics that Jesus was a contrived figure of ancient mythology. It also looks at the reliability of the Gospel records as well as the evidence for the resurrection that validates His identity as the promised Messiah. Man, Myth, Messiah will be released concurrent to the God’s Not Dead movie sequel, which will cover the same theme.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you settling for half the story? Highlighting connections that have been hidden from non-Jewish eyes, Rabbi Jason Sobel will connect the dots between the Old and New Testament, helping you see the Bible with clarity as God intended. Most people—even people of faith—do not understand how the Bible fits together. Too many Christians accept half an inheritance, content to embrace merely the New Testament, while Jewish people may often experience the same by embracing only the Old Testament. But God has an intricate plan and purpose for both the Old and the New. In Mysteries of the Messiah, Rabbi Jason Sobel reveals the many connections in Scripture hidden in plain sight. Known for his emphatic declaration “but there’s more!” he guides us in seeing the passion and purpose of the Messiah. Mysteries of the Messiah: Uncovers connections between the Old and New Testaments Connects the dots for readers with details about Jesus, the Torah, and biblical characters Written with the unique perspective of a rabbi with an evangelical theological degree No matter how many times you have read the Bible, Mysteries of the Messiah will bring fresh perspective and insight. God’s Word, written by many people over thousands of years, is not a random selection of people and stories. Rabbi Jason Sobel connects the dots and helps us see with clarity what God intended.

Book King and Messiah as Son of God

Download or read book King and Messiah as Son of God written by Adela Yarbro Collins and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2008-11-03 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book traces the history of the idea that the king and later the messiah is Son of God, from its origins in ancient Near Eastern royal ideology to its Christian appropriation in the New Testament. Both highly regarded scholars, Adela Yarbro Collins and John J. Collins argue that Jesus was called “the Son of God” precisely because he was believed to be the messianic king. This belief and tradition, they contend, led to the identification of Jesus as preexistent, personified Wisdom, or a heavenly being in the New Testament canon. However, the titles Jesus is given are historical titles tracing back to Egyptian New Kingdom ideology. Therefore the title “Son of God” is likely solely messianic and not literal. King and Messiah as Son of God is distinctive in its range, spanning both Testaments and informed by ancient Near Eastern literature and Jewish noncanonical literature.

Book The Messiah

  • Author : Gregory W. Johnson
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2023-01-25
  • ISBN : 1685177727
  • Pages : 107 pages

Download or read book The Messiah written by Gregory W. Johnson and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-01-25 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the first time in history will these facts be known: King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba had a son named Menelik, Michael the Archangel brought back to Ethiopia the real ark that Moses had built. Abel and Cain had twin sisters. Abel's twin was named Kalimath, and Cain's twin was named Lebhudha. Nebuchadnezzar was really a Jew. His father was named Karmin, from the tribe of Judah. The blessed Holy Virgin Mother was named Hanna, and her father was named Joachim. Angels that asked God to come to earth and become men said that they would not sin. God gave the hearts of men to angels, and they sinned, having sex orgies with people They had children with the daughters of Cain, and they became giants in the earth, and God chose Noah to build an ark before he would destroy the earth with a flood. This is taken from Kebra Nagast, the Ethiopian book of kings, which is older than the Bible. This book alone is more exciting than any movie ever made about the Messiah. This book will be a movie someday. I am working on a movie deal for this book. This is a rare jewel. The Messiah: A Man of Color will reveal never-known events that are factual to this day: where the ark really is located in Axum, Ethiopia; the relationship between Solomon and the Queen of Sheba--she had a son with King Solomon. Things that were never mentioned in the Bible, such as Menelik. This book reveals new things but still used the Bible as a fact in history, but this gives more factual events never printed in the Bible. And, behold, a hand touched me. --Daniel 10:10

Book Jesus God Man Or Myth

Download or read book Jesus God Man Or Myth written by Herbert Cutner and published by Book Tree. This book was released on 2000 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did pagan mythologies represent Christs miracles in order to convince them to accept the Christian faith? Beyond these miracles is there enough evidence to prove there was a Jesus? Cutner says no. He also says that the Apostle Paul never portrayed Jesus as a man, but as a spiritual being. To Paul, Christ is found in a spiritual sense within oneself, as opposed to being an actual historical personage. When the Church accepted Paul, this inner reflection was outwardly projected by the Church into an actual mana saviour, according to Cutner. This might be why Paul was almost rejected by the Churchhis views posed a danger to those who might rely on their own spiritual knowledge, rather than the authority of the Church. Whether Jesus lived or not, we still have a lot to learn about ourselves and our true place in the universe. This book, although critical, may be useful in that respect.

Book Jesus God Man or Party Label The Dead Sea Scroll s Messiah Code

Download or read book Jesus God Man or Party Label The Dead Sea Scroll s Messiah Code written by Chris Albert Wells and published by Strategic Book Publishing. This book was released on 2012-03-05 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Intrigue. Politics. Lies. Power struggle. Sound like a thriller? It's the Bible. In Jesus: God, Man or Party Label?, Chris Albert Wells argues that the interpretation of the Gospels we have been taught as Truth ignores a bitter battle of intra-community conflicts and strategies. To discover the nature of the initial split, Wells encourages us to give a new look at the Essene Dead Sea Scroll Messiahs and then to Northern Syria, where the first Gospels were written in a community called Essene before being called Christian. The reader will discover here the background that ultimately produced the Gospels and what they really meant to those who wrote them. Within this community context, Jesus will be just as alien to established Church traditions as to modern historical portrayals or mythical castings forwarded by scholarly textual criticism. Wells challenges us to question everything we have been told, and to understand the story of Jesus in an entirely new light.
