The ironic yearning of the place where the author passed his sick days and the desire to share experiences with others currently going through this sickness. The opportunity gained to establish a lasting friendship with people of different backgrounds and cultures from many countries. Here, the book explores the themes of social injustice, environmental concerns, national and regional sentiments of some figures. It also presents the strength and beauty of different personalities that brought moments of great reflection, joy, and happiness even in the middle of pain: showing how God is always present. The role of a loving family as a great source of support during times of serious sickness is magnified in the final part of the work. Again, the theme of God's Word serving as a guide to keeping us together in love. Mention is made to Christian faith and even churches.
