Ephesians 1:10, "That in the dispensation of the fullness of time he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth." Through the ages, God has dealt with man in varied ways according to the period of time. These periods are known as dispensations. The prehistoric period does not come under a dispensation because there was no man during that period. A dispensation is a period of time when man is tested in respect to obedience to some specific revelation of the will of God for that period. There are seven such dispensations, each of which has a character of its own and is so distinct that it cannot be commingled with any other.

A goodly portion of the God conscious segment of society is visually aware, but functionally asleep. God, who has given us dominion, has also given us time to get our domain in order, to His specifications: in fact He has given us six allotments, or dispensations of time, wherein we have control, to do so. The Lord will attend and manage personally the 7th dispensation, in His vesture dipped in blood. Gods blood has its role throughout all of the 7 dispensations.

It stands as one of the better accepted of sound English Bible Translations. Because of its wide acceptance, I have used this translation for my resource. I have certainly considered a host of opinions and writings of a host of scholars but my source of authenticity has always been God's Word. In writing this book, I strongly encourage our religious leaders to go back to the reading, writing, and arithmetic basics of God's Word. Just as I believe, we need to get back to the basics in educating our children in school in reading, writing, and arithmetic, we also need to get back to the reading, writing, and arithmetic basics in educating God's people in church. Perhaps such consideration is "out of touch" with the advanced theology of today. As a layman, not an ordained or seminary graduate, I might be considered a "doctrine dummy." This book, entitled "Doctrine for Dummies" is written for this vast ocean of people. We are not dummy people, but we are somewhat hindered in our study by deep theological doctrine. This book tries to take us back to reading, writing, and arithmetic doctrine.
