Book Method of classification of global machine conditions based on spectral features of infrared images and classifiers fusion

Download or read book Method of classification of global machine conditions based on spectral features of infrared images and classifiers fusion written by Marek Fidali and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper describes an original method of global machine condition assessment for infrared condition monitoring and diagnostics systems. This method integrates two approaches: the first is processing and analysis of infrared images in the frequency domain by the use of 2D Fourier transform and a set of F-image features, the second uses fusion of classification results obtained independently for F-image features. To find the best condition assessment solution, the two different types of classifiers, k-nearest neighbours and support vector machine, as well as data fusion method based on Dezert–Smarandache theory have been investigated. This method has been verified using infrared images recorded during experiments performed on the laboratory model of rotating machinery. The results obtained during the research confirm that the method could be successfully used for the identification of operational conditions that are difficult to be recognised.

Book The Power of the Machine

Download or read book The Power of the Machine written by Alf Hornborg and published by Rowman Altamira. This book was released on 2001-10-16 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hornborg argues that we are caught in a collective illusion about the nature of modern technology that prevents us from imagining solutions to our economic and environmental crises other than technocratic fixes. He demonstrates how the power of the machine generates increasingly asymmetrical exchanges and distribution of resources and risks between distant populations and ecosystems, and thus an increasingly polarized world order. The author challenges us to reconceptualize the machine—'industrial technomass'—as a species of power and a problem of culture. He shows how economic anthropology has the tools to deconstruct the concepts of production, money capital, and market exchange, and to analyze capital accumulation as a problem at the very interface of the natural and social sciences. His analysis provides an alternative understanding of economic growth and technological development. Hornborg's work is essential for researchers in anthropology, human ecology, economics, political economy, world-systems theory, environmental justice, and science and technology studies. Book The Futures of Racial Capitalism

Download or read book The Futures of Racial Capitalism written by Gargi Bhattacharyya and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-10-23 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Capitalism appears to be endlessly in crisis but without ever loosening its hold on our lives. New modes of racism and exclusion emerge, but the old ones never go away. We continue to struggle to live and survive in its wake but are unable, still now, to build commonality with each other. In this incisive book, Gargi Bhattacharyya revisits debates about racial capitalism and its violence through differentiation. Taking the four lenses of prisons, borders, debt and platforms, Bhattacharyya reveals how this moment of capitalist crisis positions humans as expendable, but differentially so, in a process that remakes longstanding racialized hierarchies. Uncovering practices and techniques embedded in the shifting processes of accumulation and state power, the chapters illuminate how value is extracted from populations through non-wage routes and indebtedness. This engaging introduction to racial capitalism offers an interlocking and insightful analysis of capitalist renewal, essential for students and scholars interested in issues of race, racism and inequality.

Book The Time is Now

Download or read book The Time is Now written by Edward Vose Gulick and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 1999 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although the Cold War may be over, the new weaponry of mass destruction remains, in many different forms and in many different hands. If unchanged, argues Edward Gulick, the present international system with its older framework and newer capabilities virtually guarantees global desolation and nuclear winter. Our chances of survival hinge on substantial changes in the system itself. Gulick looks at major events of the twentieth century and draws from his thirty-year experience as professor and scholar of history to propose a series of common-sense alterations to the structure of our present world system, including major acts of global statesmanship leading to minimal, but sufficient, world governance. Scholars of world history, international relations, and global issues will be especially interested in this book.

Book Commutative Algebra Constructive Methods

Download or read book Commutative Algebra Constructive Methods written by Henri Lombardi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-07-22 with total page 1033 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Translated from the popular French edition, this book offers a detailed introduction to various basic concepts, methods, principles, and results of commutative algebra. It takes a constructive viewpoint in commutative algebra and studies algorithmic approaches alongside several abstract classical theories. Indeed, it revisits these traditional topics with a new and simplifying manner, making the subject both accessible and innovative. The algorithmic aspects of such naturally abstract topics as Galois theory, Dedekind rings, Prüfer rings, finitely generated projective modules, dimension theory of commutative rings, and others in the current treatise, are all analysed in the spirit of the great developers of constructive algebra in the nineteenth century. This updated and revised edition contains over 350 well-arranged exercises, together with their helpful hints for solution. A basic knowledge of linear algebra, group theory, elementary number theory as well as the fundamentals of ring and module theory is required. Commutative Algebra: Constructive Methods will be useful for graduate students, and also researchers, instructors and theoretical computer scientists.
