Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written in Holmes' own inimitable style. Jam packed with information and laced with stories of naked girls and what they and the photographers get up to. Holmes talks frankly about his models in a way that may shock some, yet all the incidents are true. He talks about money. Where it comes from and where it goes. Who pays for what. How to get other people's money to send you abroad. How to find models and how to undress them. He talks of under aged girls and others who literally get sexually turned on by the camera. The information just keeps coming. Information that is designed to help anyone take pictures of pretty girls. Lighting, posing, equipment, portfolios and much more. This book answers many of the questions that you need to know before you take your next set of pictures. 'I've been reading your book in bed and my wife couldn't understand why I kept shaking. No! Not what you think. Just me trying to hold back the giggles about something you had written.' P.K. Scotland.

Book Schoolgirls Money and Rebellion in Japan

Download or read book Schoolgirls Money and Rebellion in Japan written by Sharon Kinsella and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-11-07 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Japanese society in the 1990s and 2000s produced a range of complicated material about sexualized schoolgirls, and few topics have caught the imagination of western observers so powerfully. While young Japanese girls had previously been portrayed as demure and obedient, in training to become the obedient wife and prudent mother, in recent years less than demure young women have become central to urban mythology and the content of culture. The cultic fascination with the figure of a deviant school girl, which has some of its earliest roots in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, likewise re-emerged and proliferated in fascinating and timely ways in the 1990s and 2000s. Through exploring the history and politics underlying the cult of girls in contemporary Japanese media and culture, this book presents a striking picture of contemporary Japanese society from the 1990s to the start of the 2010s. At its core is an in-depth case study of the media delight and panic surrounding delinquent prostitute schoolgirls. Sharon Kinsella traces this social panic back to male anxieties relating to gender equality and female emancipation in Japan. In each chapter in turn, the book reveals the conflicted, nostalgic, pornographic, and at times distinctly racialized manner, in which largely male sentiments about this transformation of gender relations have been expressed. The book simultaneously explores the stylistic and flamboyant manner in which young women have reacted to the weight of an obsessive and accusatory male media gaze. Covering the often controversial subjects of compensated dating (enjo kôsai), the role of porn and lifestyle magazines, the historical sources and politicized social meanings of the schoolgirl, and the racialization of fashionable girls, Schoolgirls, Money, Rebellion in Japan will be invaluable to students and scholars of Japanese culture and society, sociology, anthropology, gender and women's studies.

Book excerpt: 'In this insightful and practical exploration of female young adulthood, Madonna offers a remarkable way of understanding and sharing the realities of growing up for so many of our daughters.' - Dr Justin Coulson A must-read guide for parents of teenage girls that explores what our girls need us to know in order to support them through the unprecedented pressures of growing up in today's world. The world is a very different place from two years ago. And the impact on our 16-, 17- and 18-year-old girls is huge. At one of the most critical times in their development - an age when they're ready to spread their wings and look to the future - they have had to deal with enormous disruption and dislocation, and come to terms with living life from their bedrooms. The long stints of remote learning and the anxiety of at-home exams has compounded with the ever-present pressure of the ATAR and worries around friendships and relationships, who they want to be, gender identity, alcohol, vaping, and sex, body image and mental health. Self-harm and eating disorders have risen dramatically. For school-leavers, the uncertainty around university study and the jobs market only adds to the heavy toll. To support our girls, we need to understand the pressures this generation is under by listening to what worries them and what they need - and journalist and social commentator Madonna King has done just that. Having consulted 1000 young women, along with parents, senior educators, and health care professionals in her research for this book, L Platers delivers the answers we need as parents to help our girls on the road to adulthood. 'Madonna tells us the truth about what Australian tween and teen girls are feeling and thinking. Best of all, she equips parents with useful tips on what our girls need from us and wish we knew.' - Rebecca Sparrow, author of Ask Me Anything
