Book excerpt: Les infrastructures routières ont souvent une vie plus longue que la durée d'utilisation prévue lors de leur construction. Les routes non revêtus qui prennent de l'âge entraînent des frais d'entretien importants et nécessitent de coûteux travaux de réfection. De plus, différents utilisateurs comme les compagnies forestières, les villégiateurs, les chasseurs et pêcheurs, les adeptes de la récréation en plein air et les employés du gouvernement se partagent l'utilisation des routes non revêtues. Or, les objectifs de chacun des gestionnaires face à l'entretien d'une route non revêtue peuvent être différents selon les types d'utilisateurs. Ainsi, le traitement d'une route peut être efficace pour un gestionnaire et s'avérer inutile pour un autre. Dans ce contexte, différents aspects doivent être pris en compte dans la gestion de l'entretien d 'une route non revêtue par le traitement à l'aide d'abat-poussière ou de produits stabilisants afin que chaque gestionnaire puisse faire le choix du produit qui correspond le mieux à ses priorités. Un système d'aide à la décision (SAD) est un outil qui permet au gestionnaire de hiérarchiser ces objectifs afin de déterminer le produit pour le traitement de la route qui respecte ses priorités. L'objectif du projet de doctorat est donc de développer une méthodologie qui servira à construire SAD permettant aux gestionnaires de routes non revêtues d'entretenir, par le traitement à l'aide de produits abat-poussière et stabilisants, une route non revêtue en fonction de son contexte et des objectifs du gestionnaire. Afin de réaliser l'objectif du projet doctoral, le SAD est composé de deux parties. La première partie est l'algorithme. Il permet de prendre en compte le contexte de la route par le biais de différentes variables, soit la minéralogie, la granulométrie, le climat, les sollicitations mécaniques ainsi que le type de section de route à traiter. Une base de données permettant d 'évaluer l'efficacité des produits à différents taux de pose en fonction des variables expérimentales est créée. L'algorithme permet de déterminer les taux de pose optimaux de chacun des produits stabilisants ou abat-poussière en fonction du contexte de la route. Deuxièmement, afin de répondre aux besoins des gestionnaires qui peuvent être de natures différentes en fonction des objectifs de ces derniers, la gestion de l'entretien des routes non revêtues doit non seulement prendre en compte le contexte de la route, mais également faire intervenir une analyse multicritère. Cette dernière est la deuxième partie du SAD et permet au gestionnaire de choisir un produit pour l'entretien d'une route non revêtue adapté à ses besoins qui peuvent être de nature environnementale, opérationnelle, économique ou avoir trait à la santé et à la sécurité. Une base de données permettant d'évaluer la performance environnementale, opérationnelle, économique ou ayant trait à la santé et à la sécurité des différents produits est créée. La majorité du projet de doctorat est consacré à la méthodologie qui a permis de développer le SAD, soit principalement le développement complet de l'algorithme et de ses variables expérimentales, de l'analyse multicritère et de ses critères et échelles et des bases de données. La méthodologie développée répond à l'objectif initial du projet de doctorat en proposant des produits abat-poussière et stabilisants en fonction du contexte de la route et des objectifs du gestionnaire permettant ainsi à ceux-ci d'entretenir les routes en fonction de leurs besoins.
