Download or read book Genesis An Opinionary written by Gerald Woodruff and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-02-16 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Genesis as it name implies is a book of "Beginnings." It contains the dramatic story of Creation. It shows the creation of the universe and the beginnings of life on this planet. The book offers itself assuming the issue of its own veracity. It is not subject to man's scientific investigation. Man would like to have proof but the Bible although provable is not written so that it might be put into a scientific journal where some man may say that it is right or wrong. God does not look for man's approval. Neither does the Word of God. It is God's communication to the faithful. If you look for Christ in the Bible he is enfolded in the Old Testament and unfolded in the New (author unknown). The Holy Spirit brings the sublime truth of it to light in the heart of the believer.

This is exciting reading for anyone and must for believers. Dr. Woodruff takes the Book of Acts and describes the many things often overlooked in the reading of this book.
Download or read book NUmbers written by Dr. Gerald L. Woodruff and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-12-29 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Numbers is the third of five books called the Pentateuch. The others of course are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy. Numbers is a fulfillment of prophecy and the Abrahamic Covenant which was prophecy also. Numbers 1:2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls; The children of Israel grew from a family and were now going to be a nation. They would be a nation of God's children. God brought them out of bondage and was bringing them back to the land. Numbers becomes a mixture of laws and history of this becoming. This of course was under the leadership of Moses and the priesthood through the Levites. There was much more to learn and to grow. There are successes and failures here and we are given this history; warts and all.We see the principles of law given for this nation to represent God as the children of God.
Download or read book Deuteronomy written by Dr. Gerald L. Woodruff and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-12-29 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deuteronomy repeats the previous three books. These of course are Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers. It is a repetition in that we can see the history and the laws. It does however deal with the death of Moses in the last chapter. There is in this of explanation an expansion of what is being told here. There are of course some additions. I note also what could be called the blessing and curse warnings. It is if they are obedient they are blessed. If they are disobedient, they are punished. The punishments are not pleasant. Deuteronomy is considered the second law. It is not a new law but as explained is expanded. This would be a continuing education of the people concerning their relationship to God and a preparation to go into the land of promise. All four books should be studied before Deuteronomy is studied. This will give the reader a good feel for the history of the children of Israel until they became a nation in the Promised Land. Download or read book Judges Prophets and Kings written by Dr. Gerald L. Woodruff and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-12-31 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Judges as they appear in the book of Judges and the prophets are those listed in the prophets of the Old Testament who have a book named for them. This does leave out Abraham, Moses, Elijah, and Elisha. They all deserve a separate work but I have appended a brief description of Elijah and Elisha to the end. The kings of course start with Saul, David, and Solomon. We will then branch into what could be called the sundered kingdoms of Israel and Judah. Each of these is listed separately according to their individual responsibilities. This then becomes a simple study of the men and women who in the course of Old Testament history; served God in a special position. This of course is to say that some served very well and some served badly. The author hopes that you will enjoy this study of the book.

Download or read book The Multisensory Museum written by Nina Levent and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2014-03-06 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent research in the cognitive sciences gives us a new perspective on the cognitive and sensory landscape. In The Multisensory Museum: Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives on Touch, Sound, Smell, Memory, and Space, museum expert Nina Levent and Alvaro Pascual-Leone, professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School bring together scholars and museum practitioners from around the world to highlight new trends and untapped opportunities for using such modalities as scent, sound, and touch in museums to offer more immersive experiences and diverse sensory engagement for visually- and otherwise-impaired patrons. Visitor studies describe how different personal and group identities color our cultural consumption and might serve as a compass on museum journeys. Psychologists and educators look at the creation of memories through different types of sensory engagement with objects, and how these memories in turn affect our next cultural experience. An anthropological perspective on the history of our multisensory engagement with ritual and art objects, especially in cultures that did not privilege sight over other senses, allows us a glimpse of what museums might become in the future. Education researchers discover museums as unique educational playgrounds that allow for a variety of learning styles, active and passive exploration, and participatory learning. Designers and architects suggest a framework for thinking about design solutions for a museum environment that invites an intuitive, multisensory and flexible exploration, as well as minimizes physical hurdles. While attention has been paid to accessibility for the physically-impaired since passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, making buildings accessible is only the first small step in elevating museums to be centers of learning and culture for all members of their communities. This landmark book will help all museums go much further.

Download or read book Universities in Transition written by Bo Göransson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-12-16 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Globalization, the information age, and the rise of the knowledge-based economy are significantly transforming the way we acquire, disseminate, and transform knowledge. And, as a result, knowledge production is becoming closer and more directly linked to economic competitiveness. This evolution is also putting new and urgent demands on academic institutions to adjust to the changing needs of society and economy. In particular, there is growing pressure on the institutions of higher education and research in developed economies to find and affirm their new role in the national innovation system. Their counterparts in developing economies need to define their role in supporting emerging structures of the innovation system. This book examines the role of universities and national research institutes in social and economic development processes. Featuring contributions that showcase initiatives and innovations from around the world, including China, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and Western Europe, it offers timely insight that will be of interest to policymakers, university administrators, economic and social leaders, and researchers alike.
