Book Information Coding Using Fuzzy Set Theory

Download or read book Information Coding Using Fuzzy Set Theory written by Manu Banga and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2022-10-07 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Document in the subject Mathematics - General, Basics, , language: English, abstract: Chapter 1: In this chapter a brief literature survey on measures of entropy and divergence measures is presented. It also outlines the basic concepts of fuzzy sets. A brief review on fuzzy information measures and fuzzy directed divergence are given here. The concept of multiple criteria decision making problem is also presented. In addition, a general overview of coding theory is given and summarizes the objectives with an overview of the work reported in later chapters. Chapter 2: In Chapter 2 after reviewing some literature on measures of information for fuzzy sets, a new generalized fuzzy information measure involving two parameters of order α and type β has been introduced. The necessary properties of the proposed measure have been verified. Further, the monotonic nature of generalized fuzzy information measure with respect to the parameters is studied and the validity of the same is verified by constructing the computed tables and plots on taking different values of the parameters. Chapter 3: Divergence is an important measure in information theory as well as in fuzzy set theory which has widely used by researchers in many application areas. Generalized divergence measures provide flexibility to the users and enhance their applicability range. This chapter proposes a new generalized fuzzy divergence measure. It may be remarked that the strength of a measure lies in its properties. The new measure has important properties proved in this chapter to enhance the employability of this measure. Special cases are also discussed for providing particular results. Chapter 3 deals with the introduction of a new generalized measure of fuzzy directed divergence involving two real parameters. The proposed measure satisfies all the necessary properties of being a measure. Some additional properties of the proposed measure have also been studied. Further, the monotonic nature of generalized fuzzy directed divergence measure with respect to the parameters is studied and validity of the same is checked by constructing the computed tables and plots on taking different fuzzy sets and different values of the parameters. Corresponding measures of total ambiguity and fuzzy information improvement have also been defined and studied.

Book Algorithms for a Generalized Multipolar Neutrosophic Soft Set with Information Measures to Solve Medical Diagnoses and Decision Making Problems

Download or read book Algorithms for a Generalized Multipolar Neutrosophic Soft Set with Information Measures to Solve Medical Diagnoses and Decision Making Problems written by Rana Muhammad Zulqarnain and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this paper is to propose the generalized version of the multipolar neutrosophic soft set with operations and basic properties. Here, we define the AND, OR, Truth-Favorite, and False-Favorite operators along with their properties. Also, we define the necessity and possibility of operations for them. Later on, to extend it to solve the decision-making problems, we define some information measures such as distance, similarity, and correlation coefficient for the generalized multipolar neutrosophic soft set. Several desirable properties and their relationship between them are derived. Finally, based on these information measures, a decision-making algorithm is stated under the neutrosophic environment to tackle the uncertain and vague information.

Download or read book Fuzzy Sets and Information written by Rakesh Bajaj and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fuzzy set theory has capability to describe the uncertain situations, containing ambiguity and vagueness. Fuzziness is found in our decision, in our thinking, in the way we process information, and particularly in our language. The objective of the book is to study fuzzy mathematics with applications and to characterize new measures of fuzzy information with their various generalizations. The fuzzy information measure deals with vague and ambiguous uncertainties. Large number of measures of entropy, directed divergence and symmetric divergence for probability distributions are known. Analogously, there is a set of variety of measures for fuzzy sets available. Cross-entropy measure is also known as the information discrepancy between two probability distributions. Derived from cross-entropy, fuzzy directed divergence measures the dissimilarity between two fuzzy sets. Various generalized measures of fuzzy information have been introduced. The concept of useful' fuzzy information by attaching utility to the uncertainties of fuzziness and probabilities of randomness has been introduced.

Book Some Generalized Dice Measures for Double Valued Neutrosophic Sets and Their Applications

Download or read book Some Generalized Dice Measures for Double Valued Neutrosophic Sets and Their Applications written by Qaisar Khan and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neutrosophic sets (NSs) are used to illustrate uncertain, inconsistent, and indeterminate information existing in real-world problems. Double-valued neutrosophic sets (DVNSs) are an alternate form of NSs, in which the indeterminacy has two distinct parts: indeterminacy leaning toward truth membership, and indeterminacy leaning toward falsity membership. The aim of this article is to propose novel Dice measures and generalized Dice measures for DVNSs, and to specify Dice measures and asymmetric measures (projection measures) as special cases of generalized Dice measures via specific parameter values. Finally, the proposed generalized Dice measures and generalized weighted Dice measures were applied to pattern recognition and medical diagnosis to show their effectiveness.
