Book General Bipin Rawat The Warrior

Download or read book General Bipin Rawat The Warrior written by Manjeet Negi and published by Prabhat Prakashan. This book was released on 2023-03-22 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: India’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat was a valiant warrior with indomitable willpower and unprecedented vision. During his military tenure, he provided intense and brilliant leadership. He was well aware that the mission he was leading, was visionary, far-reaching, for the betterment of the Forces and in the interest of the nation. He always first experimented all his suggested reforms on himself, before implementing these in the Forces. He followed ‘zero tolerance’ policy against corruption and ethical conduct in the Forces. He was the greatest pioneer of ‘Make in India’ in the Forces. He strongly supported the production of weapons and other defence equipment in the country itself. General Bipin Rawat’s impressive personality, his steely character and superb efficiency, quite simple behaviour were all so very natural and devoid of artificiality and so efficacious that any person coming in his contact, was naturally influenced by him. His military strategies, readiness to act, deep studies, analytical, fearless, sincere and bold statements, industrious nature, humane impartiality and ‘zero tolerance’ for corruption were so strong that any impartial and neutral person was forced to support his views. This book is a glorious tale of valiant and inspirational life of General Bipin Rawat, the pride of Indians.

Book India s Military Strategy

Download or read book India s Military Strategy written by S. Kalyanaraman and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2022-12-30 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores what military strategy is and how it is interconnected with policy on one hand and military operations on the other. In the process, it traces the transformation of the notion of strategy from its original military moorings to a more policy-oriented and-influenced conception and elaborates upon a tripartite framework of policy, strategy and doctrine to think about, understand, and analyse the use of force. The book explores the politics of India-Pakistan conflict in order to root the study of Indian military strategy in the political sphere. It discusses three main issues that have ensured the persistence of conflict: incompatible national identities, Pakistan's congenital quest for parity with and compulsion to challenge India, and irreconcilable positions on the Kashmir issue. The book argues that India has invariably pursued limited political aims that did not threaten Pakistan's survival or form of government or regime in power albeit containing a counter offensive elements. It states that India employed the strategy of exhaustion during the Indian Army's campaigns in the 1947-48 conflict and 1965 war, which made way to strategy of annihilation during the 1971 war (East Pakistan), but after Pakistan's acquisition of nuclear weapons capability the strategy is back to exhaustion. The book highlights the importance of designing an overall military strategy for waging limited war and pursuing carefully calibrated political and military objectives by creatively combining the individual doctrines of the three services by establishing a Chief of Defence Staff system.

Book A Soldier s General An Autobiography

Download or read book A Soldier s General An Autobiography written by General (Retd.) J. J. Singh and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2012-11-21 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this engrossing book, General Singh gives us insights into how decisions about the nation's security are taken at the highest levels of government, whether it is Siachen, the conduct of war (Kargil) or the massing of troops on the border (Operation Parakaram). General Singh also addresses some controversial issues, including the irresponsible 'communal spin' given to a case linked to the 'age issue' of the last army chief, which had the potential to rupture the secular and apolitical fabric of the armed forces. Bringing alive the charm and adventure of an army life lived to the full, General Singh also gives us astute analysis of many critical issues: the challenges from Pakistan and China, the threats of terrorism, insurgency and Naxalism, the importance of military diplomacy, and the way forward for the armed forces in a rapidly changing world.

Book Memorable War Stories

Download or read book Memorable War Stories written by Ranbir Singh Gp Capt and published by Prabhat Prakashan. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Memorable War Stories is a collection of 27 war stories and incidents placing on record the exciting exploits of our own fliers of the Indian Air Force and the intrepid fighters of the Army and Navy operating in our own environment. All the stories/incidents recorded in the book are true and factually correct, and are based on research, first person accounts, and published stories carried by different newspapers and magazines over a period of time. Although most of the names of the crews have been clipped down to their squadron nicknames, nevertheless they will be quite identifiable to their colleagues and contemporaries. The book has been fictionalised to an extent to make it readable and bring in the human angle, but there is no compromise on the factual details. The war stories and the other incidents cover a wide spectrum beginning with the Kashmir operations and race the reader through the 1962 Sino-Indian Frontier War, the Twenty Two Fateful Days of the 1965 Indo-Pak Conflict, the Fourteen Days 1971 war, and not forgetting the Kargil Operation Vijay. The book has been written in an easy and fluid style which makes it immensely readable, and the simple language though with a defence flavour should find favour with the men-in-uniform as well as civilians. It is a welcome addition to the books on defence themes.
