Book Genetic Algorithms and Fuzzy Multiobjective Optimization

Download or read book Genetic Algorithms and Fuzzy Multiobjective Optimization written by Masatoshi Sakawa and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the introduction of genetic algorithms in the 1970s, an enormous number of articles together with several significant monographs and books have been published on this methodology. As a result, genetic algorithms have made a major contribution to optimization, adaptation, and learning in a wide variety of unexpected fields. Over the years, many excellent books in genetic algorithm optimization have been published; however, they focus mainly on single-objective discrete or other hard optimization problems under certainty. There appears to be no book that is designed to present genetic algorithms for solving not only single-objective but also fuzzy and multiobjective optimization problems in a unified way. Genetic Algorithms And Fuzzy Multiobjective Optimization introduces the latest advances in the field of genetic algorithm optimization for 0-1 programming, integer programming, nonconvex programming, and job-shop scheduling problems under multiobjectiveness and fuzziness. In addition, the book treats a wide range of actual real world applications. The theoretical material and applications place special stress on interactive decision-making aspects of fuzzy multiobjective optimization for human-centered systems in most realistic situations when dealing with fuzziness. The intended readers of this book are senior undergraduate students, graduate students, researchers, and practitioners in the fields of operations research, computer science, industrial engineering, management science, systems engineering, and other engineering disciplines that deal with the subjects of multiobjective programming for discrete or other hard optimization problems under fuzziness. Real world research applications are used throughout the book to illustrate the presentation. These applications are drawn from complex problems. Examples include flexible scheduling in a machine center, operation planning of district heating and cooling plants, and coal purchase planning in an actual electric power plant.

Book Karl Barth

Download or read book Karl Barth written by Christiane Tietz and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2021-03-25 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the beginning of his career, Swiss theologian Karl Barth (1886-1968) was often in conflict with the spirit of his times. While during the First World War German poets and philosophers became intoxicated by the experience of community and transcendence, Barth fought against all attempts to locate the divine in culture or individual sentiment. This freed him for a deep worldly engagement: he was known as "the red pastor," was the primary author of the founding document of the Confessing Church, the Barmen Theological Declaration, and after 1945 protested the rearmament of the Federal Republic of Germany. Christiane Tietz compellingly explores the interactions between Barth's personal and political biography and his theology. Numerous newly-available documents offer insight into the lesser-known sides of Barth such as his long-term three-way relationship with his wife Nelly and his colleague Charlotte von Kirschbaum. This is an evocative portrait of a theologian who described himself as "God's cheerful partisan," who was honored as a prophet and a genial spirit, was feared as a critic, and shaped the theology of an entire century as no other thinker.

Book Next Generation Wireless Terahertz Communication Networks

Download or read book Next Generation Wireless Terahertz Communication Networks written by Saim Ghafoor and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-08-11 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The rapid growth of the data traffic demands new ways to achieve high-speed wireless links. The backbone networks, data centers, mission-critical applications, as well as end-users sitting in office or home, all require ultra-high throughput and ultra-low latency wireless links. Sophisticated technological advancement and huge bandwidth are required to reduce the latency. Terahertz band, in this regard, has a huge potential to provide these high-capacity links where a user can download the file in a few seconds. To realize the high-capacity wireless links for future applications, in this book, different aspects of the Terahertz band wireless communication network are presented. This book highlights the Terahertz channel characteristics and modeling, antenna design and beamforming, device characterization, applications, and protocols. It also provides state-of-the-art knowledge on different communication aspects of Terahertz communication and techniques to realize the true potential of the Terahertz band for wireless communication.

Book Poorly Visible Media in X Ray Tomography

Download or read book Poorly Visible Media in X Ray Tomography written by V. G. Nazarov and published by VSP. This book was released on 2002-01-01 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tomography problem considered in this volume of the Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems Series consists of finding an essential part of information about the internal structure of an unknown medium. More particularly, the contact boundaries between various materials in the medium are sought. This investigation is implemented by studying an appropriate mathematical model, which is represented as a transport equation (linear Boltzmann's equation) together with certain boundary conditions. Both theoretical and numerical methods have been used and the results consist of proved theorems, computer testing of the corresponding algorithms, together with a number of tables. This book may be considered as a continuation and application of Transport Equation and Tomography by D.S. Anikonov, A.E. Kovtanyuk and I.V. Prokhorov, previously published in this series.

Book Heidegger and Practical Philosophy

Download or read book Heidegger and Practical Philosophy written by François Raffoul and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 395 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heidegger has often been reproached for his alleged neglect of practical issues, specifically his "inability" to propose or articulate an ethics or politics. This book investigates the extent to which Heidegger's thought can be read as a crucial resource for practical philosophy and the articulation of an ethos for our time. Leading scholars from around the world offer a sustained and intensive focus on Heidegger's thought of praxis, working through such motifs as freedom, the possibility of ethics, the political, responsibility, community, nihilism, technology and the contemporary ethos, among others. Ultimately, this volume reveals the practical senses of ontology, and the ontological senses of praxis by exhibiting the practicality of Being itself.

Book The Epistle to the Ephesians

Download or read book The Epistle to the Ephesians written by Karl Barth and published by Baker Academic. This book was released on 2017-05-02 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Karl Barth is widely acknowledged as one of the great theologians of the church. This masterful example of theological interpretation of the biblical text presents Barth's insights on an important Pauline epistle. In 1921-22, Barth taught a course on the exposition of Ephesians at the University of Göttingen, lecturing from a detailed and carefully researched manuscript. The resulting lectures, now available in English for the first time, introduce theological and exegetical issues pertinent to the study of Ephesians. Introductory essays by world-renowned scholars Francis Watson and John Webster are included.
