Download or read book Driven by Greed written by Jean-Pierre Plouffe and published by Osmora Incorporated. This book was released on 2016-02-08 with total page 431 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Driven by Greed” This is a time when the middle class is being eroded by an economy where the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. This is also a time where more than 90% of the wealth is in the hands of less than 5% of the world population. As a result, a lot of people are more vulnerable and weak than ever before. In the last decades, more and more bottom feeders have been taking advantage of the weak. In many sectors, society looks more like the food chain of the darkest oceans. This book takes glimpses at some of the most revolting cases. Vanessa, one of the main characters, is suddenly pushed out of the middle class when her husband and only son are killed in a car crash. Soon she becomes a prey at the bottom of this dark human ocean dominated by heartless human sharks. These abusers will take everything from her until it is time to discard her as a worn out rag. These heartless users smile like barracudas as they lie to their bosses, partners, clients, and their employees. Loyal to no one, they cheat, hide their revenues, buy support, and if it benefits them, they frame up politicians, lawmen, and their own friends. Vanessa gets pushed until she cannot be pushed any further. How far can Vanessa be pushed before she retaliates? What if she found an ally? Follow Vanessa throughout this story and find out... Child prostitution, white slavery, drug deals, and murders are some of the big money- making activities behind some of these benign-looking call centers. Using Special Forces becomes the only adequate response to the threats. Some of the other main characters in my story—Dodaro, Wong, Kowalski, Nicole, Suzanne and Eric have to hunt the banner carriers of greed, not only from Montreal to Istanbul but also from Mexico and Brazil to Amman in Jordan. Read my action-packed 75000 words story, and let me know how you enjoyed it.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coffee is a dark drink ranging from brown to black with a bitter taste. Coffee is prepared from boiling ground coffee. Coffee beans are collected from the all-year greenery coffee tree. The beans are roasted and grinded, then prepared. Many people in the Middle East add cardamom and coriander to their coffee, which gives it pleasant smells that ecstasy the soul so that it cannot resist its temptation, when we drink it, our souls are refreshed and it provides us with a good mood and makes us feel peaceful and comfortable. The word coffee was derived from the name of the town of Caffa in Abyssinia (Ethiopia). Other evidence reported that the coffee tree originated from Yemen, where it was exported from the city of Mocha (thus coffee called Mocha Caffe). If I ask you about your favorite drink and your answer is coffee, don’t be surprised, you are among the millions of people who consider coffee their only choice. According to Insider Monkey, People consume more than 500 billion coffee cups/year around the globe. Drinking coffee every morning, gives a person a wonderful mood, mental clarity, and a sense of happiness and brilliance. Coffee also has a role in the permanence of intimacy between people, whether they are friends or loved ones, relatives or strangers. Coffee in cold weather gives us warmth and tranquility, and many people love it every sunrise before going to work to clear their minds and arrange their thoughts. The book devoted an extensive section to clarifying the positive role of coffee on human health, and its beneficial effects on all organs and systems of the human body were explained. Through listing the results of medical research, it became clear to us that coffee has a clear positive effect on human health in general if it is consumed in moderate quantities and without excess.

Book The Bulletproof Diet

Download or read book The Bulletproof Diet written by Dave Asprey and published by Rodale Books. This book was released on 2014-12-02 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his mid-twenties, Dave Asprey was a successful Silicon Valley multimillionaire. He also weighed 300 pounds, despite the fact that he was doing what doctors recommended: eating 1,800 calories a day and working out 90 minutes a day, six times a week. When his excess fat started causing brain fog and food cravings sapped his energy and willpower, Asprey turned to the same hacking techniques that made his fortune to "hack" his own biology, investing more than $300,000 and 15 years to uncover what was hindering his energy, performance, appearance, and happiness. From private brain EEG facilities to remote monasteries in Tibet, through radioactive brain scans, blood chemistry work, nervous system testing, and more, he explored traditional and alternative technologies to reach his physical and mental prime. The result? The Bulletproof Diet, an anti-inflammatory program for hunger-free, rapid weight loss and peak performance. The Bulletproof Diet will challenge—and change—the way you think about weight loss and wellness. You will skip breakfast, stop counting calories, eat high levels of healthy saturated fat, work out and sleep less, and add smart supplements. In doing so, you'll gain energy, build lean muscle, and watch the pounds melt off. By ditching traditional "diet" thinking, Asprey went from being overweight and sick in his twenties to maintaining a 100-pound weight loss, increasing his IQ, and feeling better than ever in his forties. The Bulletproof Diet is your blueprint to a better life.

Once the golden girl of her Arkansas town, Natalie finds herself squeezed under small town shame and rejection after being kicked out of church for getting a divorce. It’s a hard fall off of a sanctimonious high horse, and religious fundamentalism has left her feeling broken and stuck. Within these pages is a suspenseful adventure filled with love, loss, laughter, tears, and a little bit of scandalous behavior, but at the heart of it, Natalie walks squarely into the unknown to confront the secret matters of the soul that we wrestle with at night.

Download or read book Driven by Obsession written by Richard Vere-Compton and published by Chipmunkapublishing ltd. This book was released on 2011-06-01 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: DescriptionThis would make an ideal film script. The virtue of the intense imagery means that storyboarding, almost every scene, is already there in ones minds eye. The story contains almost every element of human emotion, greed, romance, lust, envy, hatred, friendship, and betrayal. All with just a handful of 'cast' members. Later chapters pick up on clues left in earlier ones, which act as hooks pulling threads through the entire plot. Throughout the serious plot, there are almost throw away, priceless, 'one liners' that add to the readers/watchers pleasure. The very fact that the 'leading lady' had hopes of going to RADA, lends itself to the ideal players, cast, stars, call them what you will, being composed of relative 'unknowns' from the acting profession. It would seem to do poetic justice to the memory of 'Maggie, the heroine. About the AuthorI am writing this at the behest of Richard, who I have worked closely with for the past 18 months, during which time 'we have rattled a few cages' and Richard has tilted at a good few windmills. Although our acquaintanceship goes back over 10 years I jumped at the opportunity to transfer his archives into electronic format, a task that I have only scratched the surface of, as it is with great reluctance that I must pass the baton on to others. As in all archiving activities, the amount of hard copy accumulated over 35 years by Richard in his capacity as a creative market consultant is vast and hugely diverse. The promotion of which has had some label him a snake oil salesman, selling his wares on the back of gloom and doom. The emperor's magic suit of clothes and a charlatan parroting scientific gobbledegook are labels that he has worn with pride, befitting his projected persona of a mild eccentric, which is a mask for his preferred preference to remain an enigma and as such treats all his dealings with others with the sanctity of a confessional. Under my stewardship only the last 10 years of his copyrighted material and IPR are available; and these are contained in the folder "Save The World 2006/2007." This folder is dedicated to those who are suitably motivated to delegate others to dive into this Aladdin's cave of intellectual 'wonderment' All the above can be accessed from the live URL link: http: //swashball.qdtech.co.uk In spite of my honesty in repeating others' comments, Richard moves like a celestial comet. His trail is a breath of fresh air, sadly missing in our busy lives. I have been reliably informed that his boyish enthusiasm, driven by a still youthful mind, is acceptable in small doses and at worse mildly irritating to those who are well organised and have disciplined minds. However, it is better to have Richards voice on the end of your phone, and know what he is up to, and not need his snake oil, then for the phone to remain silent and need his 'cure all' and not know about it. Do you not agree?

Book excerpt: Prologue This is not your typical rags-to-riches tech story. It's not about a lone genius coding in their garage, nor is it a tale of overnight success fueled by venture capital and viral marketing. This is a fictional story about real choices, about navigating the uncharted waters of the digital age, where innovation and ethics often collide. It's a fictional story about the power of dreams, the resilience of the human spirit, and the unwavering belief in a better future. In the heart of Silicon Valley, a young entrepreneur named Maya is about to embark on a journey that will challenge everything she knows about business, technology, and the true meaning of "free." Armed with a passion for language learning and a head full of innovative ideas, Maya creates Lingua-Link, a free language learning app that quickly becomes a global phenomenon. But as the app's popularity soars, Maya faces a series of dilemmas that will test her values and push her to the brink. How can she monetize a free app without compromising its accessibility and inclusivity? What are the ethical implications of collecting and using user data? How can she build a sustainable business model that benefits both users and the company? These are the questions that Maya must grapple with as she navigates the complex and often contradictory landscape of the tech industry. Along the way, she'll encounter passionate supporters, fierce critics, and unexpected allies. She'll make mistakes, learn valuable lessons, and ultimately emerge as a leader who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and forge a new path forward. This is a story that could happen to any of us, a story that reflects the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. It's a story about the power of ideas, the importance of community, and the enduring human quest for connection and understanding. So buckle up, dear reader, and get ready for a wild ride. The world of "free" is about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Download or read book Me and the Devil written by Nick Tosches and published by Little, Brown. This book was released on 2012-12-04 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An aging New Yorker, a writer named Nick, feels life ebbing out of him. The world has gone to hell and Nick is so sick of it all that he can't even have a glass of champagne. Then one night he meets a tantalizing young woman who agrees to come back to his apartment. Their encounter is the most strangely extraordinary of his life. Propelled by uncontrollable, primordial desires, he enters a new and unimagined dimension of the forbidden and is filled with a sexual and spiritual ecstasy that is as intense as it is unholy. Suddenly Nick's senses are alive. He feels strong, unconquerable, beyond all inhibition and earthly morality. He indulges in life's pleasures, pure and perverse, sublime and dangerous, from the delicate flavors of the perfect tomato to the fleshy beauty of a woman's thigh. But Nick's desire to sustain his rapture leads him to a madness and a darkness far greater and dreadful than have ever ridden the demon mares of night. Writing in a lineage that includes Dante, William S. Burroughs, Charles Bukowski, Hubert Selby, Jr., and Hunter S. Thompson, Nick Tosches may be America's last real literary outlaw -- a fearless, uncensorable seeker of our deepest secret truths and desires, from the basest to the most beautiful. Me and the Devil is outrageous, disturbing, and brilliant, a raw and blazing novel truly unlike any other. Like the man said: Read him at your peril. "A raw and blazing novel by "the single, most brain-searingly dangerous man of letters. Read him at your peril." -- Anthony Bourdain

Book excerpt: A propulsive and daring new novel by the author of Very Nice about a woman on the run from catastrophe, searching for love, home, a swimming pool, and for someone who can perhaps stop the bleeding from her head. "Marcy Dermansky is one of the most wildly original writers that I've ever read, and Hurricane Girl showcases what makes her so amazing. In tracking the unpredictable movements of a strange and hypnotic journey in the aftermath of a natural disaster, Dermansky nails the sensation of being alive, of navigating a world so strange that it’s almost a dream, of trying, again and again, to anchor yourself to a moment, to assure yourself that you exist, to withstand anything and somehow keep living." —Kevin Wilson, New York Times bestselling author of Nothing to See Here Allison Brody is thirty-two and newly arrived on the East Coast after just managing to flee her movie producer boyfriend. She has some money, saved up from years of writing and waitressing, and so she spends it, buying a small house on the beach. But then a Category 3 hurricane makes landfall and scatters her home up and down the shore, leaving Allison adrift. Should she go home from the bar with the strange cameraman and stay in his guest room? Is that a glass vase he smashed on her skull? Can she wipe the blood from her eyes, get in her car, and drive to her mother’s? Does she really love the brain surgeon who saved her, or is she just using him for his swimming pool? And is it possible to ever truly heal without seeking some measure of revenge? A gripping, provocative novel that walks a knife’s edge between comedy and horror, Hurricane Girl is the work of a singular talent, a novelist unafraid to explore the intersection of love, sex, violence, and freedom—while celebrating the true joy that can be found in a great swim and a good turkey sandwich.

He's a lucky man: healthy and handsome, with two beautiful women ready to spend the rest of their lives with him and an enormously successful career that gets more promising by the minute. Book Plant Resources for Food Fuel and Conservation

Download or read book Plant Resources for Food Fuel and Conservation written by Robert James Henry and published by Earthscan. This book was released on 2010 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Agriculture and food production have a large footprint on the landscape globally and compete for space with land for nature conservation. This book explores the competition between the food needs of a growing human population and the conservation of biodiversity as intensified by the emerging use of crops for energy production. As concern about the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on climate grows and oil prices increase, energy production from agricultural crops has become a significant industry. At the same time, growth in food demand due to population growth has been accelerated by growing affluence associated with economic growth in major developing countries increasing per capita consumption. Consumers are concerned that the price of food will continue to increase sharply as a result of this competition but a loss of biodiversity may be another major outcome. Drawing on his expertise in plant conservation genetics, the author provides a balanced appraisal of the potential for developing new or improved crops for food or bioenergy production in the context of climate change, while at the same time protecting biodiversity."--Back cover.
