Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is presently the best available source on design and optimization of particle factories using e e - circular accelerators at the same time givingthe physical background for their construction. It addresses scientists and graduate students which is clearly reflected in its pedagogical style. The book aims at summarizing all the currently available knowledge on the motivation to construct particle factories, the design considerations of each of the different machine options including their lattices and interaction regions, practical details of the major systems constituting the machines, as well as a wide view of possible factories worldwide. It is the most up-to-date and unique collection of information of particle factories presently available.

Book Frontiers of Particle Beams

Download or read book Frontiers of Particle Beams written by Stuart Turner and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 528 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume presents the latest ideas and developments in the world of beam diagnostics in particle accelerators and storage rings. It brings together papers by internationally recognized experts and by the younger scientists in the field. The lectures treat three main themes: - Phenomena used in beam observation - Single particle parameters - Collective parameters Each theme is introduced by one or more general lectures followed by detailed lectures on specific topics such as Schottky noise, closed orbits and impedance measurements. The overall aim was to show how to observe the diverse behavior of a beam, how to interpret and classify the observations and then how to control or correct the relevant parameters. The resulting volume contains much of the information needed to operate or commission a machine. The lecture program was supplemented by three seminars that looked at monitoring in e+e- colliders and at the special problems of nonplanar machines and experimental particle tracking. This unique and comprehensive collection of papers is the most up-to-date presently available.

Book Measurement and Control of Charged Particle Beams

Download or read book Measurement and Control of Charged Particle Beams written by Michiko G. Minty and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the reviews: "This book is a very welcome and valuable addition to the accelerator literature. As noted by the authors, there is relatively little material in the book specifically for low-energy machines, but industrial users may still find it useful to read." Cern Courier

Book Introduction to Beam Dynamics in High Energy Electron Storage Rings

Download or read book Introduction to Beam Dynamics in High Energy Electron Storage Rings written by Andrzej Wolski and published by Morgan & Claypool. This book was released on 2018-06-05 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electron storage rings play a crucial role in many areas of modern scientific research. Introduction to Beam Dynamics in High-Energy Electron Storage Rings describes the physics of particle behaviour in these machines. Starting with an outline of the history, uses and structure of electron storage rings, the book develops the foundations of beam dynamics, covering particle motion in the components used to guide and focus the beams, the effects of synchrotron radiation, and the impact of interactions between the particles in the beams.

Book Reviews Of Accelerator Science And Technology Volume 10 The Future Of Accelerators

Download or read book Reviews Of Accelerator Science And Technology Volume 10 The Future Of Accelerators written by Chao Alexander Wu and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2019-09-09 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 10 in the series of the annual journal Reviews of Accelerator Science and Technology (RAST), will be its final volume. Its theme is 'The Future of Accelerators'. This volume, together with previous 9 volumes, gives readers a complete picture as well as detailed technical information about the accelerator field, and its many driving and fascinating aspects. This volume has 17 articles. The first 15 articles have a different approach from the previous volumes. They emphasize the more personal views, perspectives and advice from the frontier researchers rather than provide a review or survey of a specific subfield. This emphasis is more aligned with the theme of the current volume. The other two articles are dedicated respectively to Leon Lederman and Burton Richter, two prominent leaders of our community who left us last year.

Book Future Of High Energy Physics The Some Aspects

Download or read book Future Of High Energy Physics The Some Aspects written by Flores Castillo Luis Roberto and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2017-02-20 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The monumental discovery of the Higgs boson at the LHC marked the beginning of a new era in the high energy physics. Although the particle spectrum of the Standard Model is now complete with the Higgs boson, the hierarchy problem and the lack of explanation of the origin of dark matter imply that a new Beyond the Standard Model physics should exist. There is however no clear indication (experimental or otherwise) of the energy scale at which this new physics should appear. Current results from the LHC experiments have shown no unpredicted effects up to pp collision energies of 13 TeV. If not observed directly at the LHC, the new physics may reveal itself through deviations of Higgs properties from their Standard Model expectations, or it may become directly accessible only at new, higher-energy accelerator facilities. It is then of primary importance to have a comprehensive review of the available and planned accelerators and their design, physics motivation and expected performance. This book comprises 26 carefully edited articles with well-referenced and up-to-date material written by many of the leading experts. These articles — originated from presentations and dialogues at the second HKUST Institute for Advanced Study Program on High Energy Physics — are organized into three aspects, Theory, Accelerator, and Experiment, focusing on in-depth analyses and technical aspects that are essential for the developments and expectations for the future high energy physics.
