Book excerpt: The seed does not become a flower. The flower and the beauty that it exudes is already in the womb of the seed. If you tend to it with love, attentiveness, and care, then naturally the hardness of the seed will soften, and the flower itself will bloom. This book is not intended to teach you anything, or help you become anything - you are that already. I give to you seeds of healthy thoughts and remind-ers to plant in the soil of your mind. With these words, I offer you water for the nourishment of your soul flower. May there be a blossoming of beauty, love, joy, knowledge, wisdom, peace, and prosperity in the garden of your life.

Book excerpt: A Holocaust survivor's surprising and thought-provoking study of forgiveness, justice, compassion, and human responsibility, featuring contributions from the Dalai Lama, Harry Wu, Cynthia Ozick, Primo Levi, and more. You are a prisoner in a concentration camp. A dying Nazi soldier asks for your forgiveness. What would you do? While imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp, Simon Wiesenthal was taken one day from his work detail to the bedside of a dying member of the SS. Haunted by the crimes in which he had participated, the soldier wanted to confess to--and obtain absolution from--a Jew. Faced with the choice between compassion and justice, silence and truth, Wiesenthal said nothing. But even years after the way had ended, he wondered: Had he done the right thing? What would you have done in his place? In this important book, fifty-three distinguished men and women respond to Wiesenthal's questions. They are theologians, political leaders, writers, jurists, psychiatrists, human rights activists, Holocaust survivors, and victims of attempted genocides in Bosnia, Cambodia, China and Tibet. Their responses, as varied as their experiences of the world, remind us that Wiesenthal's questions are not limited to events of the past.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Poetic, moving, and empowering.” - Kirkus Reviews “Successfully makes a real-life issue accessible for the youngest audiences.” - Publishers Weekly A courageous girl follows her dream of learning to fly in this beautifully illustrated story inspired by formerly imprisoned human rights activist Loujain AlHathloul, perfect for Malala’s Magic Pencil fans. Loujain watches her beloved baba attach his feather wings and fly each morning, but her own dreams of flying face a big obstacle: only boys, not girls, are allowed to fly in her country. Yet despite the taunts of her classmates, she is determined to do it—especially because Loujain loves colors, and only by flying can she see the color-filled field of sunflowers her baba has told her about. Eventually, he agrees to teach her, and Loujain's impossible dream becomes reality—and soon other girls dare to learn to fly. Based on the experiences of co-author Lina AlHathloul's sister, Nobel Peace Prize nominee Loujain AlHathloul, who led the successful campaign to lift Saudi Arabia's ban on women driving, this moving and gorgeously illustrated story reminds us to strive for the changes we want to see—and to never take for granted women's and girls' freedoms.

In this life, there will be struggles and pain, and there will be sacrifice and events that will bring us to our knees. However, like the sunflower, these souls adapt, and they bloom no matter what affliction they suffer. These individuals plant seeds of hope and remind us that positive change lies ahead. These individuals, known as sunflowers, often sing songs of success and demonstrate strength and they possess grit and inspire us to reach for the light through darkness. They have demonstrated an extraordinary level of healing, growth and courage to share their stories. In this novel, you will find their stories and how they bloomed in order to plant seeds for others in their fields and change the world around them. As you read their stories, you will come to find that the sunflower captures the audience of all who embrace its beauty and is a remarkable measurement of strength, resilience, and growth. The soul of a sunflower will forever be the wildflower that can turn the pain and struggle of our unique life experiences into journeys worthy of capturing and admiring. Enclosed are their stories that we refer to as songs because they will be remembered and sung for generations to come. Book The Chorus of the body The Symphony of the Soul

Download or read book The Chorus of the body The Symphony of the Soul written by Namrata Mehrotra and published by Educreation Publishing. This book was released on 2019-01-20 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is all about simple methods that we can all adopt in order to attain peace of mind and to learn the ways of spirituality. It educates us about being conscious towards the needs of the soul as much as we are towards bodily needs. Following the methods enlisted, one can gain synchronicity of the soul with the higher energy realm. The book highlights factors that create long-lasting effect on the soul. It is all about keeping your 'soul consciousness' awake. This book will help you gain the perspective of the actual reason of human birth and of how one can be free from karmic bondage and be liberated from the vicious cycle of incarnation. The writings emphasise on the practice of mindfulness which leads one to accept life as it is and to vibrate positivity in every situation of life no matter how negative it may seem. The book highlights the fact that we are lost in a different world that has taught us to analyse ourselves as humans searching for their spiritual awakening, whereas the truth is that we are spiritual beings that are trapped within human incarnation which is so stained with materialistic vices that it knows not which path to tread in life.
