This book was released on 2017-02-25 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Hypercritical thinking is the way people perceive the world, without any acknowledgment of happiness, acceptance, compassion, joy, wonder, or love. Hypercritical thinking focuses on what we perceive as wrong, without an equal perception of what is right. There is a lie of omission that comes from perceiving what is wrong with the world without perceiving what is right. A hypercritical view of life omits positivity, and in doing so, is a less-than-half truth." The purpose of this book is to help myself and others move from hypercritical thinking to happiness. We will start with an understanding of what hypercritical thinking is. As we apply these concepts, we will not only suffer less in our lives from being hypercritical, we will discover the benefits of being happier. Definitions of happiness from multiple sources will be included, as will my own attempt to define happiness. I will discuss concepts like destiny, calling, character, fate, genius, soul, and spirit and their connection to happiness. I will explain that being happy is an unattainable goal, whereas being happier is more realistic. Convincing evidence will be presented that hypercritical thinking will diminish intelligence. We are warned that hypercritical knowledge may be poisonous to us, whereas other information we gather will increase intelligence. Post-Traumatic Growth and how we can turn our traumas into transformations are explained. I will discuss how living life with more blessings than hypercritical thinking will improve our lives. A ratio of at least three times more-positive-than-negative perceptions and statements is supported in multiple areas of our lives. Champions of both hypercritical thinking and happiness will be explored. A pathway from hedonistic pleasures to pleasures that support one's destiny will be discussed. I will use the myth of Psyche as a guide to us in therapeutic work that we are currently involved in or have done in the past. The final chapter finishes up with a list of happiness-increasing suggestions that will assist us in moving from hypercritical thinking to happiness. Happiness will increase if we nurture various social supports, eat right and exercise, and change hypercritical attitudes into positive perceptions. We can also increase happiness by retelling the stories of our lives and recognizing that our traumas and joys were a necessary part of our individual destinies. We will be happier if we help others and have spiritual, religious, or philosophical views that help us navigate life's complexities. We will be more content people if we face life's struggles with grace and accept change. It will benefit us to know our strengths and weaknesses. We should develop leisure activities and hobbies that enhance our lives and our sense of calling. Being on a purposeful, self-directed, noble path will help us move from hypercritical thinking to joy and happiness. Some of these things may be part of your life already. It is not a competition to see who can be the most positive among us. You may want to work on several of these suggestions to increase your happiness. I want to have more happiness in my life so that I can bring more joy to the world and not hypercritical contagion. My desire is to further implement more of these happiness-increasing suggestions in my life. We all can get better at being better people. I have started to check and see if, when I walk past the flowers, they burst into bloom. Not yet! This process of learning about happiness is a lifelong pursuit. To move from hypercritical thinking to happiness, it helps to take out some insurance against being hypercritical. These happiness-increasing suggestions are this insurance policy. If you are interested in researching: Happiness, Post-Traumatic-Growth, Being less hypercritical, Discovering your destiny, The Mytho-Poetic movement, Peace, Love, or just a fun self help group. Book excerpt: Do you ever wonder whether God even cares if we're happy? This world can be so hard, and we aren't promised an easy road. But that's not the whole story. The Bible is filled with verses that prove that ours is a God who not only loves celebrations but also desperately wants his children to experience happiness. Why else would he go to the lengths he did to ensure our eternal happiness in his presence? We know that we will experience unimaginable joy and happiness in heaven, but that doesn't mean we can't also experience joy and happiness here on earth. In Happiness, noted theologian Randy Alcorn (bestselling author of Heaven) dispels centuries of misconceptions about happiness, including downright harmful ideas like the prosperity gospel, and provides indisputable proof that God not only wants us to be happy, he commands it. Randy covers questions like: How can I cultivate happiness in my life? What's the difference between joy and happiness? Can good things become idols that steal our happiness? Is seeking happiness selfish? How can I achieve happiness through gratitude? What does it look like to receive God's grace? The most definitive study on the subject of happiness to date, this book is a paradigm-shifting wake-up call for the church and Christians everywhere.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This marvelous book, borne of a unique collaboration between Dr. Allen Schoen—a world-renowned veterinarian and author—and trainer and competitor of many years Susan Gordon, introduces the 25 Principles of Compassionate Equitation. These Principles, conceived by Dr. Schoen and Gordon, are a set of developmental guidelines, encouraging a level of personal awareness that may be enacted not only through the reader's engagement with horses, but can be extended to all humans and sentient beings he or she encounters. The 25 Principles share stories and outline current, peer-reviewed studies that identify and support methods of training, handling, and caring for horses that constitute a safe, healthy, non-stressful, and pain-free environment. Through their Compassionate Equestrian program, the authors encourage all involved in the horse industry to approach training and handling with compassion and a willingness to alleviate suffering. By developing deeper compassion for their own horses, and subsequently, all equines, equestrians transcend their differences in breed preferences, riding disciplines, and training methodologies. This leads to the ability to empathize and connect more closely with the “global collective” of horses and horse people. In doing so, a worldwide community of compassionate equine practitioners and horse owners will emerge, which will not only benefit the horses: People involved with horses are found in many influential segments of society and have the potential to affect wide circles of friends, acquaintances, and co-workers from every walk of life. These are simple changes any horse person can make that can have a vast impact on the horse industry and society as a whole.
