Book 60 Holistic Ways to Get Slim and Stay Slim Never Diet Again

Download or read book 60 Holistic Ways to Get Slim and Stay Slim Never Diet Again written by Katrina Zawawi and published by . This book was released on 2021-07-17 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My name is Katrina and I used to be a lot bigger before my mid-thirties. I did lose weight when I tried strict diets and strict exercise regimes. But my mind always gave up half way through the program, and then I gained all my fat back again - plus much more. Initially when I tried dieting, my heart and mind was in it. But after a while my weight would plateau and I would lose all motivation to carry on. This was my diet and exercise cycle - for most of my twenties to late thirties. It was only when I became a yoga teacher that I learned that there is so much emotion connected to our physical state. If we are not in a positive mindset for transformation, we will stagnate. That was precisely what I was doing. I had not changed my mindset at all. This meant that in the past, I had to work super hard in order to achieve my dream weight goal. It was never sustainable, because I enjoyed eating too much! So I was never fully in alignment with any weight loss program I did. On my life's journey to strive to improve my health, I learned about nutrition and how what we ate 50 years ago had far fewer additives than it does today. This made me realise how food corporations are manipulating us through our taste buds and packaging. I also knew that Big Pharma companies were doing the same to sell us drugs that "heal" our ailments (which actually cause more problems). This led me into my own clean eating journey. I noticed a great shift in my own mindset but also how my body transformed with me. Understanding how this works stopped me from allowing these corporations to manipulate me (I stopped buying their foods and drugs). In this process, I automatically dropped down 3 dress sizes to where I am now. The great news is I am here, where I want to be. I am and have remained at UK size 8 for a few years now, without trying to do so or weighing myself (I don't know my weight, and don't wish to know). I enjoy real foods fully. I eat what I want, but what I want is not what I used to want. So, the mind-shift is the difference. This is where the transformation happens. This book is all about gaining health and removing excess fat naturally. You will learn about clean eating and will change your mindset around food. This book recognises that not everyone will be the same, and that one size does not fit all. You will be introduced to different ways of eating, exercising, mindfulness practices and so much more. Fat loss is not just about calories in versus calories out, but it is also a way of life, an outlook, and it is about mental health. You will learn how Big food industries and Big Pharma are manipulating us into ill health, into developing autoimmune conditions that keep us relying on the food and drug cycle. Knowing this and more gives you the ammunition and motivation to eat right for you and your lifestyle. It is about gaining power and freedom to break the chains that these corporations have placed around us. You have a choice - do you want to be an addictive dieter? Or, do you want to break free from corporate chains to live your new life outside the diet trap?

Book Get out of the Diet Trap

Download or read book Get out of the Diet Trap written by Walter A. Hans and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2007-11-20 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered why those famous weight loss diets can pay millions of dollars for advertising year after year? If these diets would solve weight problems, wouldnt they have sold themselves out of business by now? Some weight loss diets may actually contribute to the overweight problem. Poor nutritional advice may leave us undernourished. We may feel the urge to overeat because we do not get the proper nutrients when our body needs them. Meaningless diet rules are a poor substitute for natural instincts and common sense. The book Get out of the Diet Trap guides the reader in reaching and holding normal body weight, simply by following his or her instincts. Most of us had this ability early in our lives. We were able to control our weight before we had problems and we should be able to do it again. Those without a weight problem still have this natural ability. At the Time/ABC News Summit on Obesity in June 2004, the nutritional experts attending the summit agreed upon thirteen recommendations. The basic concept of this book supports eleven of these recommendations. The remaining two recommendations are being challenged. I am writing about my own experiences. I tried many diets and always gained the weight back that I had lost and then some. Finally, I quit diets and did what common sense told me to do. My weight dropped and stabilized simply by letting my body tell me when, what, and how much to eat. Eating for me is now pure pleasure again. Whenever I get hungry, I let my appetite lead me to the foods I need in order to be satisfied and to stay fit. I eat small portions of a variety of appetizing, nutritional foods. I enjoy every bite by giving the food undivided attention and by chewing well. I stop eating when the hunger stops. Enjoying a large variety of appetizing foods (nothing is excluded) in small portions and chewing well is satisfying and gets rid of the cravings, a major reason why we overeat. Can it be that simple? Yes Get out of the Diet Trap tells you why. Walter A. Download or read book Wheat Belly written by William Davis and published by Rodale Books. This book was released on 2014-06-03 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Includes a sneak peek of Undoctored—the new book from Dr. Davis! In this #1 New York Times bestseller, a renowned cardiologist explains how eliminating wheat from our diets can prevent fat storage, shrink unsightly bulges, and reverse myriad health problems. Every day, over 200 million Americans consume food products made of wheat. As a result, over 100 million of them experience some form of adverse health effect, ranging from minor rashes and high blood sugar to the unattractive stomach bulges that preventive cardiologist William Davis calls "wheat bellies." According to Davis, that excess fat has nothing to do with gluttony, sloth, or too much butter: It's due to the whole grain wraps we eat for lunch. After witnessing over 2,000 patients regain their health after giving up wheat, Davis reached the disturbing conclusion that wheat is the single largest contributor to the nationwide obesity epidemic—and its elimination is key to dramatic weight loss and optimal health. In Wheat Belly, Davis exposes the harmful effects of what is actually a product of genetic tinkering and agribusiness being sold to the American public as "wheat"—and provides readers with a user-friendly, step-by-step plan to navigate a new, wheat-free lifestyle. Informed by cutting-edge science and nutrition, along with case studies from men and women who have experienced life-changing transformations in their health after waving goodbye to wheat, Wheat Belly is an illuminating look at what is truly making Americans sick and an action plan to clear our plates of this seemingly benign ingredient.

Why is it that we experience weight gain, fatigue, aches and pains, illnesses, and memory loss as we get older? While these ailments do become more common in our 30s and 40s, they aren’t inevitable. In fact, we are perfectly capable of remaining young, slim, and vigorous —and our brains can absolutely stay clear and sharp —if we give them what they need. What’s that? The right foods, plenty of sleep, and the healthy movement our bodies are craving. The problem is that most of us don’t do that. We don’t realize what our bodies need, so we eat the wrong foods, skimp on sleep, and deprive our bodies of the movement they crave. Overwhelmed by the stresses and the pressures of our lives, we take a host of prescriptions, never realizing how they might be disrupting our body’s innate ability to heal. Most insidious of all, many of us lack the personal support and the community that we need to feel fully alive. Instead, we buy into the myth that age means decline. Best-selling author and internationally recognized expert in integrative and functional medicine, Dr. Frank Lipman shares the 10 key steps to live your best life! Book Fat Planet

  • Author : David Lewis
  • Publisher : Random House
  • Release : 2015-04-09
  • ISBN : 1473505224
  • Pages : 354 pages

Download or read book Fat Planet written by David Lewis and published by Random House. This book was released on 2015-04-09 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our planet is in the grip of an obesity pandemic. More than a billion people worldwide are overweight and over 600 million are obese. We live in an obesogenic environment in which it is much easier to get fat than to stay fit. How has this come to be? Who is to blame? What can we do? In Fat Planet, Dr David Lewis and Dr Margaret Leitch examine the social and psychological causes of the obesity pandemic in order to answer these questions. They use ground-breaking research to highlight the behaviour of corporations that relentlessly promote foods high in sugar, fat and salt, and show that these ‘junk’ foods have shockingly similar neurological effects to hard drugs. They consider the prevalence of food cues which unconsciously stimulate our desire to consume. And they debunk the myths of fad diets and slimming pills, suggesting practical, easily implemented strategies for sustainable weight loss. The evidence is clear: our problem with obesity must be addressed or we will face catastrophic consequences. It is not too late to change.
