Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Forced to Marry My Ex By: Christy Cisson Forced to Marry My Ex is a story based on the lifestyle of one of author Christy Cisson's best friends who was in an abusive marriage for over twenty years. It tells of how a powerful boy finds a girl he wants to become his under any circumstance, no matter what. He is a possessive person who can be abusive when he doesn't get what he wants. There are so many women in relationships that they wish either the man would change for the better or they could get out of it. This book will help to give strength and encouragement to women in a similar situation where maybe they can take the steps to finally get out of it before it goes too far or the man winds up killing them out of rage. It is Christy's hope that readers take away from her words of encouragement to see the signs of abuse when it first starts, not turning a blind eye, saying he was just mad or it will not happen again. The longer a relationship like this goes, most men get worse until there is no turning back.

Book excerpt: Smile! It's not just the end of your marriage, it's the beginning of your second chance! Missy Benson has a two and a half carat diamond engagement ring with color grade H, VS2 clarity and a value of $36,000. It's absolutely gorgeous, practically flawless, and let's be honest, really big! But what the successful Chicago realtor doesn't have anymore is a husband. After 12 years of marriage, her husband, Paul, a handsome, wealthy attorney has devastated her by breaking up their marriage for Priscilla Sommerfeld, a young, personal trainer, who according to Missy's sassy assistant, J.J., looks more like a Las Vegas stripper than a fitness expert. Not sure what to do with her ring, and with no financial issues to worry about, Missy decides to put it up for sale on Craigslist. The price: 99 cents! The catch: She gets to pick the buyer. In essence, she's looking for the perfect guy, but not for herself. Her hope is to regain faith that good men do exist, and that marriages can last forever. Now referring to herself as "the divorced girl," Missy interviews dozens of young men who are vying for the huge ring. It's a contest that includes outrageous characters, hilarious and sentimental stories, and two finalists, both of whom Missy adores and who she must choose between. Then there's Parker Missoni, the sexiest contestant by far, who drives her crazy with his brutal honesty, and at the same time stops her heart with his deep brown eyes. Divorced Girl Smiling is the story of a woman's journey to do whatever it takes to heal herself from divorce. It's about acceptance, reflection, taking accountability for mistakes, and appreciating all of life's wonderful gifts. In other words, if you have the guts to put the past behind, admit your mistakes, embrace your future, and give love another chance, you will surely be a divorced girl smiling.

Book excerpt: An eye-opening, funny, painful, and always truthful in-depth examination of modern relationships and a wake-up call for single women about getting real about Mr. Right. You have a fulfilling job, great friends, and the perfect apartment. So what if you haven’t found “The One” just yet. He’ll come along someday, right? But what if he doesn’t? Or what if Mr. Right had been, well, Mr. Right in Front of You—but you passed him by? Nearing forty and still single, journalist Lori Gottlieb started to wonder: What makes for lasting romantic fulfillment, and are we looking for those qualities when we’re dating? Are we too picky about trivial things that don’t matter, and not picky enough about the often overlooked things that do? In Marry Him, Gottlieb explores an all-too-common dilemma—how to reconcile the desire for a happy marriage with a list of must-haves and deal-breakers so long and complicated that many great guys get misguidedly eliminated. On a quest to find the answer, Gottlieb sets out on her own journey in search of love, discovering wisdom and surprising insights from sociologists and neurobiologists, marital researchers and behavioral economists—as well as single and married men and women of all generations.

I’m not blind, you see.” That day, she was pinned on the wall the moment she stepped in her door. Her three babies cheered, “Daddy said mommy’s eyes are bad! Daddy says he’ll fix it for mommy!” She wailed, “Please let me go, darling!”

Book Child Marriage in T rkiye

Download or read book Child Marriage in T rkiye written by Esra Bayhantopçu and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-04-18 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a critical examination of the problem of underage marriage in Türkiye through a sociological perspective considering gender perceptions, cultural norms, and historical and political contexts. The author conducts a comprehensive analysis of the problem by focusing on the lived experiences and narratives of women who married before the age of 18. Face-to-face, in-depth, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 women who married at a child age to identify the causes and consequences of the marriage of underage girls and to explore how these women perceive both their own identities and the broader issue of child marriage. Employing critical discourse analysis, the author scrutinizes these interviews through the theoretical lenses of gender, identity, and ideology, all while remaining attuned to feminist perspectives. These combined methodologies allow the author to reveal the hidden dimensions of the problem, examining the feelings, stories, behaviours, and beliefs of real women who have married as children. Finally, constructive solutions are proposed for the elimination of the child marriage problem, not only in Türkiye, but in countries across the world. The book will interest those working and studying in an array of fields, including sociology, gender studies, and Turkish culture and society, as well as anyone with a general interest in the problem of underage marriage.

Book excerpt: To all my dear readers In 2020 I have decided to write my autobiography, which I had in mind for 20years. When Covid 19 hit us and made us to just sit at home ,so I have decided to take this opportunity and let my dream for so long come to the reality. First I have started to write it in Farsi , with the thought to translate it later in English and Dutch but I never thought that as time passes by I will decide to do it just in English and Dutch . So ,after a year I started to just write it in English then a good Dutch friend got on board with me to translate it from English to Dutch and she has done a good job of that with so many good experience from her old works which was similar to mine. I have tried very hard that the outcome be the best of my abilities as far a the English language and literature is concern. But I am not highly educated in English language just a few years I have done in England for banking business. Because of my love to this language, I have learned it for so many years myself , without living in England. What I am trying to say here, is that every sentences could be put in so much better content if I had that knowledge and education in literature , I wish I had . I hope my editor will help me in this matter, to bring it in complete and updated form where it is necessary. The most important part is that I want you all to feel and witness the pain and challenges that I had whole my life as a woman till this day. Maybe the face of the problem is different from what you had but at the end of the day it is our problems. Thank you all I hope meanwhile you enjoy this book. With regards SHAUKAT

Book I Married Dr Jekyll and Woke Up Mrs Hyde

Download or read book I Married Dr Jekyll and Woke Up Mrs Hyde written by Alma H. Bond and published by Alma Bond. This book was released on 2000-11 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is one marriage out of two today doomed to end in divorce? My interviews with 71 divorced women searched for answers. Did they love their husbands when they married? Did they believe at the time that it was 'till death do us part'? Were there other lovers in the lives of the couple at the time of the divorce? Is there any connection between an unhappy childhood and a failed marriage? Do women tend to lose their identities in marriage? To my surprise, I saw the majority of interviews take on a similar shape, which revealed who the women were and how the divorces fit into the pattern of their lives. In my years of practice as a psychoanalyst, I saw how badly people need others with whom to identify. With this collection, divorcees can see their own fears, despair, grief, hopes, and aspirations reflected in the lives of women passing through similar experiences. I hope the fact that all the subjects came away from their divorces with greater strength, insight, and self-esteem will serve as an inspiration to all survivors of loss and pain. As Queen Isabella said in Henry V, "Happily, a woman's voice may do some good."

Book Leaving Islam Ex Muslims and Zemiology

Download or read book Leaving Islam Ex Muslims and Zemiology written by Weronika Lenartowicz and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-02-28 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cases of ex-Muslims in Europe being punished by their former fellow Muslims constitute an unacceptable practice from the standpoint of democratic societies in which human rights are respected and individuals have the freedom to choose their religion, or none at all. Ex-Muslims’ fear of punishment by their former community should prompt an open, candid, and measured discussion of the issue. Leaving Islam, Ex-Muslims and Zemiology presents the reasons for and consequences of consciously leaving Islam, based on interviews with 80 ex-Muslims currently living in Germany and Sweden. In their view, many of the practices and beliefs of Islam are harmful and unfair. Many parts of the Islamic world regard apostasy as treason or a crime. As a result, emphasis in the book is shifted from “crime” to “harm” and a thesis is put forward concerning the “decriminalization” of apostasy from the perspective of zemiology. The book highlights how a broader shift of interest in the democratic structures of Europe could allow ex-Muslims to join the discussion on the guaranteed right to religious liberties and freedom of speech in the context of the apostasy law in Islam. This should happen without fear for their own security and without facing potential suppression or social exclusion. It will appeal to scholars with interest in Islam and the conflict between religious values and an individual’s aspirations and needs.
