Sony's blood was shed on the altar of vengeance, and all the jackals were appeased for avenging the death of their princess. They then began their feast to rejoice for the opportunity to avenge their enemies. At dawn, at the third crow of the roaster, there was an earthquake all over the land. There was lightening and thunders from the sky. Then a loud ROAR was heard from the center stage, right from the Altar of Vengeance at the Assembly Ground of the Jackals. The sound of the roar resonated high across lands, including the Kingdom of the Madas, Wolves, Hyenas, Goats, Sheep, and beyond. The slain lamb has been transformed into a giant lion. The shedding of the blood of Sony has brought about a strange and rare occurrence in the entire realm of the living. A gentle innocent lamb was transformed into a mighty lion!

Book excerpt: The digital transition of our economies is now entering a phase of broad and deep societal impact. While there is one overall transition, there are many different sectoral transformations, from health and legal services to tax reports and taxi rides, as well as a rising number of transversal trends and policy issues, from widespread precarious employment and privacy concerns to market monopoly and cybercrime. They all are fertile ground for researchers, as established laws and regulations, organizational structures, business models, value networks and workflow routines are contested and displaced by newer alternatives. This Research Handbook offers a rich and interdisciplinary synthesis of some of the current thinking on the digital transformations underway.

Book Digital Transformation for Improved Industry and Supply Chain Performance

Download or read book Digital Transformation for Improved Industry and Supply Chain Performance written by Khan, Muhammad Rahies and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2024-05-01 with total page 438 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the rapidly evolving landscape of Industry 4.0, integrating digital technologies into supply chain management (SCM) presents opportunities and challenges. While Industry 4.0 promises increased efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness, its impact on sustainability within SCM remains a pressing concern. Existing literature often needs to look more into the holistic integration of Industry 4.0 technologies with sustainable practices in SCM, leaving a critical gap in understanding and implementation. This gap not only inhibits the realization of sustainable performance but also hinders firms from aligning with global sustainability agendas such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) 2030. Digital Transformation for Improved Industry and Supply Chain Performance offers a comprehensive solution by examining the integration of Industry 4.0 technology and SCM sustainability. It addresses the urgent need for firms to undergo digital transformation to achieve sustainable performance. It provides insights into how Industry 4.0 technologies can be strategically leveraged to promote sustainability in SCM operations. Through in-depth analysis of critical topics such as cybersecurity, resilience, circular economy practices, and ethical considerations, this book equips readers with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of Industry 4.0-enabled SCM sustainability.

Book Global Transformations

Download or read book Global Transformations written by David Held and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 1999 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, the authors set forth a new model of globalization that lays claims to supersede existing models, and then use this model to assess the way the processes of globalization have operated in different historic periods in respect to political organization, military globalization, trade, finance, corporate productivity, migration, culture, and the environment. Each of these topics is covered in a chapter which contrasts the contemporary nature of globalization with that of earlier epochs. In mapping the shape and political consequences of globalization, the authors concentrate on six states in advanced capitalist societies (SIACS): the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Germany, and Japan. For comparative purposes, other states—particularly those with developing economics—are referred to and discussed where relevant. The book concludes by systematically describing and assessing contemporary globalization, and appraising the implications of globalization for the sovereignty and autonomy of SIACS. It also confronts directly the political fatalism that surrounds much discussion of globalization with a normative agenda that elaborates the possibilities for democratizing and civilizing the unfolding global transformation.

Book The Cauchy Transform Potential Theory and Conformal Mapping

Download or read book The Cauchy Transform Potential Theory and Conformal Mapping written by Steven R. Bell and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1992-08-14 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Cauchy integral formula is the most central result in all of classical function theory. A recent discovery of Kerzman and Stein allows more theorems than ever to be deduced from simple facts about the Cauchy integral. In this book, the Riemann Mapping Theorem is deduced, the Dirichlet and Neumann problems for the Laplace operator are solved, the Poisson kernal is constructed, and the inhomogenous Cauchy-Reimann equations are solved concretely using formulas stemming from the Kerzman-Stein result. These explicit formulas yield new numerical methods for computing the classical objects of potential theory and conformal mapping, and the book provides succinct, complete explanations of these methods. The Cauchy Transform, Potential Theory, and Conformal Mapping is suitable for pure and applied math students taking a beginning graduate-level topics course on aspects of complex analysis. It will also be useful to physicists and engineers interested in a clear exposition on a fundamental topic of complex analysis, methods, and their application.
