Joseph Weldon Brown confessed to more than a dozen murders across seven states. He was convicted and sentenced for killing a woman whose body he dismembered and scattered across three Indiana counties. In prison, he hogtied and strangled his cellmate, then asked the judge to lock him up for life because if he was released, he would continue killing. Police detective Rick Reed was on the scene when Brown led authorities to the scattered remains of Ginger Gasaway in 2000. After Brown’s arrest, he confessed to a shocking number of other heinous crimes—the torture and murders of drifters and sex workers, the cold case of a naked woman’s body found in a roadside ditch, even the murder of his own mother. Detective Reed was the one man Brown opened up to—and the only one to cut through the deceptions and lies and learn the terrible truth . . . In this newly updated edition, now-retired detective Reed reveals his personal theories and insights into one of the darkest minds he has ever encountered—and one of the most terrifying crime stories ever told . . .

Book Following the Blood Trail

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beginning with the Biblical view of the dawn of mankind God had a pointed interest in protecting the blood trail, blood trail that leads to Jesus the Christ. The Old Testament depicts a picture of God choosing a people to focus His attention to bless and protect. God chose the nation of Israel. The history of the Nation of Israel has been a long story of disappointment to God. God made several covenants with Israel but the covenants were put on hold until a later date due to Israel's disobedience. Eventually God chose the Tribe of Judah to focus His protection on, not because the Tribe of Judah was without flaws; it was due to God's protection of the blood trail that led to Jesus the Christ. The New Testament came into view that contained a new system of God dealing with mankind; that is the reason it is called "The New Testament" The word testament is really a legal term rather than using the word "covenant." Jesus the Christ was God's center of focus that led to Jesus the Christ dying on the cross. Now we come to the main crux of the book, "The Blood Trail." Redemption for man was and is the purpose of God protecting the "Blood Trail" from the beginning. Let me the preacher, explain: "The Blood Drawn from Immanuel's Veins" placed in man's laboratory would not have revealed the necessity for Jesus the Christ dying, but in God's laboratory it revealed that it was absolutely required for the salvation of mankind. Further explanation: (John 1: 13) "children born of natural descent, not of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God" That is the reason for the Virgin Birth. God is the Father of Jesus the Christ.

Book Blood Trails

Download or read book Blood Trails written by Christopher Ronnau and published by Presidio Press. This book was released on 2008-12-18 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: BAPTISM BY FIRE Chris Ronnau volunteered for the Army and was sent to Vietnam in January 1967, armed with an M-14 rifle and American Express traveler’s checks. But the latter soon proved particularly pointless as the private first class found himself in the thick of two pivotal, fiercely fought Big Red One operations, going head-to-head against crack Viet cong and NVA troops in the notorious Iron Triangle and along the treacherous Cambodian border near Tay Ninh. Patrols, ambushes, plunging down VC tunnels, search and destroy missions–there were many ways to drive the enemy from his own backyard, as Ronnau quickly discovered. Based on the journal Ronnau kept in Vietnam, Blood Trails captures the hellish jungle war in all its stark life-and-death immediacy. This wrenching chronicle is also stirring testimony to the quiet courage of those unsung American heroes, many not yet twenty-one, who had a job to do and did it without complaint–fighting, sacrificing, and dying for their country. Includes sixteen pages of rare and never-before-seen combat photos

Book excerpt: A landmark history of the antisemitic blood libel myth—how it took root in Europe, spread with the invention of the printing press, and persists today. Accusations that Jews ritually killed Christian children emerged in the mid-twelfth century, following the death of twelve-year-old William of Norwich, England, in 1144. Later, continental Europeans added a destructive twist: Jews murdered Christian children to use their blood. While charges that Jews poisoned wells and desecrated the communion host waned over the years, the blood libel survived. Initially blood libel stories were confined to monastic chronicles and local lore. But the development of the printing press in the mid-fifteenth century expanded the audience and crystallized the vocabulary, images, and “facts” of the blood libel, providing a lasting template for hate. Tales of Jews killing Christians—notably Simon of Trent, a toddler whose body was found under a Jewish house in 1475—were widely disseminated using the new technology. Following the paper trail across Europe, from England to Italy to Poland, Magda Teter shows how the blood libel was internalized and how Jews and Christians dealt with the repercussions. The pattern established in early modern Europe still plays out today. In 2014 the Anti-Defamation League appealed to Facebook to take down a page titled “Jewish Ritual Murder.” The following year white supremacists gathered in England to honor Little Hugh of Lincoln as a sacrificial victim of the Jews. Based on sources in eight countries and ten languages, Blood Libel captures the long shadow of a pernicious myth.

Book Tenth Legion

Download or read book Tenth Legion written by Tom Kelly and published by Tom Kelly, Inc.. This book was released on 2021 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tenth Legion has long been considered the greatest - and most hilarious - book on turkey hunting. Yet until now it was only available in a privately published edition. Many people who hunt turkeys do so with an attention to detail, a regard for strategy, tactics, and operations, and a disregard for personal comfort and convenience that ranks second only to war. As for all cultists, it never occurs to them that they may be anachronisms. Supremely unconscious of the rest of the world, blind and deaf to logic and reason, they walk along their different roads in step to the music of their different drums.
