In a place where you think more about the future because it seems much better than your present? A place where you call yourself "realistic" because it's a better word than mediocre? Are you wishing to change your reality but don't know how? Improving our lifestyle is much more than visualization and formal education. To change our life we need willing and commitment to find the right balance between our inner state and the skills to build the right vehicle that will take us to a place where we can stop worrying about money and start worrying about helping others. Christian has created a guide that covers both sides of the coin. It's not only about mindset but it is also not only about having a master in business or finances. It's about finding the balance and knowing where you want to go. Flight Of Fancy Life Formula is a proven, step-by-step process that will guide us, in a very comprehensible way, through the process of growing ourselves internally, reprogramming our mindset, helping us to realize that we deserve success and providing the right information and resources to build a business based on our passion, what we love to do; but most important, to turn it into something stable and great enough to become financially free and live life on our own terms.

Book The Man Who Loved Only Numbers

Download or read book The Man Who Loved Only Numbers written by Paul Hoffman and published by Hachette Books. This book was released on 2024-05-07 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A funny, marvelously readable portrait of one of the most brilliant and eccentric men in history." --The Seattle Times Paul Erdos was an amazing and prolific mathematician whose life as a world-wandering numerical nomad was legendary. He published almost 1500 scholarly papers before his death in 1996, and he probably thought more about math problems than anyone in history. Like a traveling salesman offering his thoughts as wares, Erdos would show up on the doorstep of one mathematician or another and announce, "My brain is open." After working through a problem, he'd move on to the next place, the next solution. Hoffman's book, like Sylvia Nasar's biography of John Nash, A Beautiful Mind, reveals a genius's life that transcended the merely quirky. But Erdos's brand of madness was joyful, unlike Nash's despairing schizophrenia. Erdos never tried to dilute his obsessive passion for numbers with ordinary emotional interactions, thus avoiding hurting the people around him, as Nash did. Oliver Sacks writes of Erdos: "A mathematical genius of the first order, Paul Erdos was totally obsessed with his subject--he thought and wrote mathematics for nineteen hours a day until the day he died. He traveled constantly, living out of a plastic bag, and had no interest in food, sex, companionship, art--all that is usually indispensable to a human life." The Man Who Loved Only Numbers is easy to love, despite his strangeness. It's hard not to have affection for someone who referred to children as "epsilons," from the Greek letter used to represent small quantities in mathematics; a man whose epitaph for himself read, "Finally I am becoming stupider no more"; and whose only really necessary tool to do his work was a quiet and open mind. Hoffman, who followed and spoke with Erdos over the last 10 years of his life, introduces us to an undeniably odd, yet pure and joyful, man who loved numbers more than he loved God--whom he referred to as SF, for Supreme Fascist. He was often misunderstood, and he certainly annoyed people sometimes, but Paul Erdos is no doubt missed. --Therese Littleton

Book Author Fictions

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ingo Berensmeyer
  • Publisher : Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG
  • Release : 2023-10-04
  • ISBN : 3111056163
  • Pages : 516 pages

Download or read book Author Fictions written by Ingo Berensmeyer and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-10-04 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fictional novelists and other author characters have been a staple of novels and stories from the early nineteenth century onwards. What is it that attracts authors to representing their own kind in fiction? Author Fictions addresses this question from a theoretical and historical perspective. Narrative representations of literary authorship not only reflect the aesthetic convictions and social conditions of their actual authors or their time; they also take an active part in negotiating and shaping these conditions. The book unfolds the history of such ‘author fictions’ in European and North American texts since the early nineteenth century as a literary history of literary authorship, ranging from the Victorian bildungsroman to contemporary autofiction. It combines rhetorical and sociological approaches to answer the question how literature makes authors. Identifying ‘author fictions’ as narratives that address the fragile material conditions of literary creation in the actual and symbolic economies of production, Ingo Berensmeyer explores how these texts elaborate and manipulate concepts and models of authorship. This book will be relevant to English, American and comparative literary studies and to anyone interested in the topic of literary authorship.

Book Dimensions of Apeiron

Download or read book Dimensions of Apeiron written by Steven M. Rosen and published by Rodopi. This book was released on 2004 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the evolution of space and time from the "apeiron" -the spaceless, timeless chaos of primordial nature. Rosen examines Western culture's effort to deny "apeiron," and the critical need now to lift the repression on "apeiron" for the sake of human individuation. "This groundbreaking book brings to fruition Rosen's reflexive theory of time and space. With recent physics breaking linear time symmetry, this unique integration of physics and philosophy is indeed timely." -Eugene T. Gendlin, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Psychology, University of Chicago "Rosen's ideas are precisely stated, and he draws upon an impressive range of sources, both ancient and modern. The author shows the inadequacy of conventional thinking about space and time and argues persuasively for an intriguing new alternative. This important book may have radical implications for the conduct of science in the 21st century." -Brian Josephson, Cambridge University Professor of Physics, Nobel Laureate

Book Metaphors of Mind

Download or read book Metaphors of Mind written by Brad Pasanek and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2015-07 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brad Pasanek's unusual work is the written report of a massive digital humanities project that involved searching 18th-century texts for the many ways writers use metaphors to characterize the mind. The book takes a selection of broad metaphorical categories that the author discovered in his digital research - including animals, coinage, metal, rooms, and writing - and examines particular examples within each category. Pasanek also frames the "dictionary" elements of the project with a more theoretical discussion of what he calls "desultory reading," a form of "unsystematic perusal" of writing exemplified in the way we approach dictionaries. Pasanek not only argues that 18th-century thinkers largely employed desultory reading, but also that his work on this very project is itself an instance of this approach. The project succeeds twofold: in treating 18th-century writing as its topic and in exemplifying its approach. Pasanek maintains an accompanying website (https://metaphorized.com) that collects the results of his digital searches.

Download or read book Chicago written by Frederik Byrn Køhlert and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2021-09-23 with total page 575 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chicago occupies a central position in both the geography and literary history of the United States. From its founding in 1833 through to its modern incarnation, the city has served as both a thoroughfare for the nation's goods and a crossroads for its cultural energies. The idea of Chicago as a crossroads of modern America is what guides this literary history, which traces how writers have responded to a rapidly changing urban environment and labored to make sense of its place in - and implications for - the larger whole. In writing that engages with the world's first skyscrapers and elevated railroads, extreme economic and racial inequality, a growing middle class, ethnic and multiethnic neighborhoods, the Great Migration of African Americans, and the city's contemporary incarnation as a cosmopolitan urban center, Chicago has been home to a diverse literature that has both captured and guided the themes of modern America.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pierre-Simon Laplace was among the most influential scientists in history. Often referred to as the lawgiver of French science, he is known for his technical contributions to exact science, for the philosophical point of view he developed in the presentation of his work, and for the leading part he took in forming the modern discipline of mathematical physics. His two most famous treatises were the five-volume Traité de mécanique céleste (1799-1825) and Théorie analytique des probabilités (1812). In the former he demonstrated mathematically the stability of the solar system in service to the universal Newtonian law of gravity. In the latter he developed probability from a set of miscellaneous problems concerning games, averages, mortality, and insurance risks into the branch of mathematics that permitted the quantification of estimates of error and the drawing of statistical inferences, wherever data warranted, in social, medical, and juridical matters, as well as in the physical sciences. This book traces the development of Laplace's research program and of his participation in the Academy of Science during the last decades of the Old Regime into the early years of the French Revolution. A scientific biography by Charles Gillispie comprises the major portion of the book. Robert Fox contributes an account of Laplace's attempt to form a school of young physicists who would extend the Newtonian model from astronomy to physics, and Ivor Grattan-Guinness summarizes the history of the scientist's most important single mathematical contribution, the Laplace Transform.
