Book excerpt: A comprehensive phenomenological analysis of a two Higgs doublet model, with flavor changing scalar currents at the tree level, called model III, is presented. Constraints from existing experimental information especially on?F=2 processes are systematically incorporated. Constraints emerging from rare B-decays, Z → b{anti b}, and the?-parameter are also examined. Experimental implications for ee (?+?) → t{anti c} + {anti t}c, t → c?(Z, g), D°-{anti D}°, and B{sub s}°-{anti B}{sub s}° oscillations, and for e+e (Z) → b{anti s} + {anti b}s are investigated and experimental effort towards these is stressed. They also emphasize the importance of clarifying the experimental issues pertaining to Z → b{anti b}.

The existing constraints mainly affect the couplings of the first two generations of quarks, leaving the possibility for non negligible Flavor Changing couplings of the top quark open. The next generation of lepton and hadron colliders will offer the right environment to study the physics of the top quark and to unravel the presence of new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this context we discuss some interesting signals from Flavor Changing Scalar Neutral Currents.

Book excerpt: We examine the constraints on the two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) due to the stability of the scalar potential and absence of Landau poles at energy scales below the Planck scale. We employ the most general 2HDM that incorporates an approximately Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson with a flavor-aligned Yukawa sector to eliminate potential tree-level Higgs-mediated flavor-changing neutral currents. Using basis independent techniques, we exhibit regimes of the 2HDM parameter space with a 125 GeV SM-like Higgs boson that is stable and perturbative up to the Planck scale. Implications for the heavy scalar spectrum are exhibited.
