Book Progressive Revelation

Download or read book Progressive Revelation written by Reynaldo Pareja and published by XLibris.com. This book was released on 2018-08-01 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some of the fundamental questions that millions have asked throughout mankind’s history is “If God exists, who is He? how can I know Him? is it possible to imagine Him? how can I talk to Him? Is God another of our mental categories and, therefore product of our imagination, a figment of our brain chemistry, or does God really exist and has communicated with us in a verifiable and objective manner revealing to us who He really is? If such communication has already occurred, then, in what manner has it happened? If it already occurred, what has God revealed about Himself that helps us understand who He is; what is His ultimate Essence? We hope the reflections presented in this book will provide a satisfactory answer that fills our daily pilgrimage with optimism until we attain the presence of our Creator.

Download or read book Si Dios se revela Dios al Hombre C mo lo hace written by Reynaldo Pareja and published by Palibrio. This book was released on 2012-11 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Theology and Sexuality Reproductive Health and Rights

Download or read book Theology and Sexuality Reproductive Health and Rights written by Andre S. Musskopf and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2022-01-28 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume presents a project of empirical research on issues of theology, sexuality, and reproductive health and rights. It was carried out by researchers from two theological institutions in Brazil and Colombia in close contact with the grassroots in various civil-society organizations. Numerous studies at twenty-six Latin American institutions on the relation between theology and HIV/AIDS prepared the way for this project. It promotes and applies methodologies for Latin American popular education and participatory action research (PAR). While the project was finalized long before the COVID-19 pandemic hit Latin America and the world, the pandemic gave fresh evidence of the relevance of the project. The present volume is the English translation of the initial Portuguese and Spanish reports about the project, enriched with a new preface. The editors are delighted that this translation will help spread the vital insights from this research to a wider and global readership.

Download or read book A Revolutionary Faith written by Raúl E. Zegarra and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2023-03-14 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Religious commitments can be a powerful engine for progressive social change, and in this new book, Raúl E. Zegarra examines the process of articulation of religious beliefs and political concerns that takes place in religious organizing and activism. Focusing on the example of Latin American liberation theology and the work of Peruvian theologian Gustavo Gutiérrez, Zegarra shows how liberation theology advocates have been able to produce a new balance between faith and politics that advances an agenda of progressive social change without reducing politics to faith or faith to politics. Drawing from theologian David Tracy's method of critical correlation, the book focuses on key historical, philosophical, and theological shifts that have allowed liberation theologians to produce a new interpretation of the relationship between faith and politics in the Christian tradition, especially when issues of social justice are at stake. The book further approaches liberation theology's contributions to theorizing social justice through an unconventional path: a critical dialogue with the work of philosopher John Rawls. This dialogue, as Zegarra contends, allows us to see more clearly the contributions of liberation theology to the cause of progressive social change. Ultimately the book stands between "public religion" and "public reason," offering something of a blueprint for theological innovation and for how to remain committed to one's faith while respecting and defending the core values of democracy.

Download or read book Freedom and Existence written by Matthew Aaron Tennant and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-08-07 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is theology a dead corpse or living organism? For Uruguayan Jesuit Juan Luis Segundo (1925-1996), theology is dynamic. Freedom and existence for central themes. Segundo believed that theology should be transformative in human lives. For a theology to be transformative, there must be a connection to existence. That is, it must be existential. Yet most scholars have overlooked this assumption in critical analyses of liberation theology. This prima facie connection to existence is distinguishable from existentialism as a school of philosophy. By showing the significant existential dimension to Segundo's theology, assessing his work and contribution to twentieth-century theology relates to freedom, ecumenism, the role of faith in society, and the relationship between faith and ideologies.

Book Filosof a trascendental Fenomenolog a y Derecho natural

Download or read book Filosof a trascendental Fenomenolog a y Derecho natural written by Mariano Crespo and published by Georg Olms Verlag. This book was released on 2018-06-04 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This volume contains the proceedings of a conference organized in May 2015 by the Instituto Cultura y Sociedad (University of Navarra). The scope of this conference was very wide as is proved by the variety of the contributions. They deal with such topics as the relationships between material value ethics and the idea of natural law, the distinction between the moral sphere and the sphere of law, the criticisms of those theories which ground human rights in natural law, the motives which lead us to consider certain facts and duties as consequences of social acts, the meaning of “freedom” in criminal law or the critical exam of such views which try to reduce the Philosophy of Law to some psychological, social or historical questions. However, despite their diversity, the contributions share two elements: on the one hand, the emphasis of the necessity of a dialogue between such different disciplines as Philosophy and Law focusing on a central question, namely, the existence of pre-positive elements, prior to every positive legislation and, on the other hand, the conviction that such elements have an own intelligibility.
