Book Fascists in Christian Clothing

Download or read book Fascists in Christian Clothing written by Richard Weisman and published by . This book was released on 2005-06 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Fascists in Christian Clothing, the sequel to Is America Nuts?, Dr. Stanley Warlib is back, and he's discovered a melding of evangelical Christians, Moonies, and Conservatives to bring about a fascist state right here in the United States. Banding together in a web of interlocking and interconnected organizations, these architects of American society believe that America is a cesspool and that salvation lies in taking back America for Christ. Three things stand in the way of ushering in the Kingdom of God to America: liberals, black-robed judges, and the secular government. Dr. Warlib, suffering from the rare delusional disorder folie à deux, uses a radio show, to reveal to listeners that all roads of this Fascist conspiracy lead to the Council on National Policy (CNP). CNP members control corporations involved in print, television, and radio that relentlessly propagandize against the evils of liberals, the judiciary, and the secular government. Dr. Warlib faces the disturbing realization that the vast right-wing conspiracy is following Hitler's Fascist model and is indoctrinating the American electorate to accept the Fascist state through Christianity. Victory for the Council seems to be in hand until Dr. Warlib intervenes and attempts to separate the Fascist head from the evangelical body.

Book American Fascists

Download or read book American Fascists written by Chris Hedges and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2007-01-09 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Twenty-five years ago, when Pat Robertson and other radio and televangelists first spoke of the United States becoming a Christian nation that would build a global Christian empire, it was hard to take such hyperbolic rhetoric seriously. Today, such language no longer sounds like hyperbole but poses, instead, a very real threat to our freedom and our way of life. In American Fascists, Chris Hedges, veteran journalist and author of the National Book Award finalist War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning, challenges the Christian Right's religious legitimacy and argues that at its core it is a mass movement fueled by unbridled nationalism and a hatred for the open society. Hedges, who grew up in rural parishes in upstate New York where his father was a Presbyterian pastor, attacks the movement as someone steeped in the Bible and Christian tradition. He points to the hundreds of senators and members of Congress who have earned between 80 and 100 percent approval ratings from the three most influential Christian Right advocacy groups as one of many signs that the movement is burrowing deep inside the American government to subvert it. The movement's call to dismantle the wall between church and state and the intolerance it preaches against all who do not conform to its warped vision of a Christian America are pumped into tens of millions of American homes through Christian television and radio stations, as well as reinforced through the curriculum in Christian schools. The movement's yearning for apocalyptic violence and its assault on dispassionate, intellectual inquiry are laying the foundation for a new, frightening America. American Fascists, which includes interviews and coverage of events such as pro-life rallies and weeklong classes on conversion techniques, examines the movement's origins, its driving motivations and its dark ideological underpinnings. Hedges argues that the movement currently resembles the young fascist movements in Italy and Germany in the 1920s and '30s, movements that often masked the full extent of their drive for totalitarianism and were willing to make concessions until they achieved unrivaled power. The Christian Right, like these early fascist movements, does not openly call for dictatorship, nor does it use physical violence to suppress opposition. In short, the movement is not yet revolutionary. But the ideological architecture of a Christian fascism is being cemented in place. The movement has roused its followers to a fever pitch of despair and fury. All it will take, Hedges writes, is one more national crisis on the order of September 11 for the Christian Right to make a concerted drive to destroy American democracy. The movement awaits a crisis. At that moment they will reveal themselves for what they truly are -- the American heirs to fascism. Hedges issues a potent, impassioned warning. We face an imminent threat. His book reminds us of the dangers liberal, democratic societies face when they tolerate the intolerant.

Download or read book Fascists written by Michael Mann and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2004-05-24 with total page 438 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fascists presents a new theory of fascism based on intensive analysis of the men and women who became fascists. It covers the six European countries in which fascism became most dominant - Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Spain. It is the most comprehensive analysis of who fascists actually were, what beliefs they held and what actions they committed. The book suggests that fascism was essentially a product of post World War I conditions in Europe and is unlikely to re-appear in its classic garb in the future. Nonetheless, elements of its ideology remain relevant to modern conditions and are now re-appearing, though mainly in different parts of the world.

Book Mussolini and Hitler

Download or read book Mussolini and Hitler written by Christian Goeschel and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2018-01-01 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A fresh treatment of Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany, revealing the close ties between Mussolini and Hitler and their regimes From 1934 until 1944 Mussolini met Hitler numerous times, and the two developed a relationship that deeply affected both countries. While Germany is generally regarded as the senior power, Christian Goeschel demonstrates just how much history has underrepresented Mussolini's influence on his German ally. In this highly readable book, Goeschel, a scholar of twentieth-century Germany and Italy, revisits all of Mussolini and Hitler's key meetings and asks how these meetings constructed a powerful image of a strong Fascist-Nazi relationship that still resonates with the general public. His portrait of Mussolini draws on sources ranging beyond political history to reveal a leader who, at times, shaped Hitler's decisions and was not the gullible buffoon he's often portrayed as. The first comprehensive study of the Mussolini-Hitler relationship, this book is a must-read for scholars and anyone interested in the history of European fascism, World War II, or political leadership.

Book Hurrah For The Blackshirts

Download or read book Hurrah For The Blackshirts written by Martin Pugh and published by Random House. This book was released on 2013-12-31 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Britain is celebrated for having avoided the extremism, political violence and instability that blighted many European countries between the two world wars. But her success was a closer thing than has been realized. Disillusionment with parliamentary democracy, outbreaks of fascist violence and fears of communist subversion in industry and the Empire ran through the entire period. Fascist organizations may have failed to attract the support they achieved elsewhere but fascist ideas were adopted from top to bottom of society and by men and women in all parts of the country. This book will demonstrate for the first time the true spread and depth of fascist beliefs - and the extent to which they were distinctly British. Rich in anecdotes and extraordinary characters, Hurrah for the Blackshirts! shows us an inter-war Britain on the high-road to fascism but never quite arriving at its destination.

Download or read book God and the Fascists written by Karlheinz Deschner and published by Prometheus Books. This book was released on 2013-10-08 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now available in English for the first time, a controversial work that indicts the Vatican for its actions before and during World War II. In the decade preceding the outbreak of World War II, the Vatican made a devil's bargain with fascist leaders. Anticipating that their regimes would eliminate a common enemy--namely Marxist-Leninist communism--two popes essentially collaborated with Hitler, Mussolini, and the fascist dictators in Spain (Franco) and Croatia (Pavelić). This is the damning indictment of this well-researched polemic, which for almost five decades in Germany has sparked controversy, outrage, and furious debate. Now it is available in English for the first time. Many will dismiss Deschner--who himself was raised and educated in a pious Catholic tradition--as someone who is obsessed with exposing the failings of the church of his upbringing. But he has marshaled so many facts and presented them with such painstaking care that his accusations cannot easily be ignored. The sheer weight of the evidence that he has brought together in this book raises a host of questions about a powerful institution that continues to exercise political influence to this day.

Book Fascism A Very Short Introduction

Download or read book Fascism A Very Short Introduction written by Kevin Passmore and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2014-05-29 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is fascism? Is it revolutionary? Or is it reactionary? Can it be both? Fascism is notoriously hard to define. How do we make sense of an ideology that appeals to streetfighters and intellectuals alike? That is overtly macho in style, yet attracts many women? That calls for a return to tradition while maintaining a fascination with technology? And that preaches violence in the name of an ordered society? In the new edition of this Very Short Introduction, Kevin Passmore brilliantly unravels the paradoxes of one of the most important phenomena in the modern world—tracing its origins in the intellectual, political, and social crises of the late nineteenth century, the rise of fascism following World War I, including fascist regimes in Italy and Germany, and the fortunes of 'failed' fascist movements in Eastern Europe, Spain, and the Americas. He also considers fascism in culture, the new interest in transnational research, and the progress of the far right since 2002. ABOUT THE SERIES: The Very Short Introductions series from Oxford University Press contains hundreds of titles in almost every subject area. These pocket-sized books are the perfect way to get ahead in a new subject quickly. Our expert authors combine facts, analysis, perspective, new ideas, and enthusiasm to make interesting and challenging topics highly readable.

Book Nazism Fascism and the Working Class

Download or read book Nazism Fascism and the Working Class written by Timothy W. Mason and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1995-03-09 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of essays, four of which are published in English for the first time, represents the life's work of the historian Tim Mason, one of the most original and perceptive scholars of National Socialism, who pioneered its social and labour history. His provocative articles and essays, written between 1964 and 1990, exhibit a combination of empirical rigour and theoretical astuteness which made them landmarks in the definition and elaboration of major debates in the historiography of National Socialism. These ten essays collect together Mason's most significant writings, including discussions of the domestic origins of the Second World War, the role of Hitler, and the character of working-class resistance, as well as his pathbreaking study of women under National Socialism, and examples of comparative work on fascism and Nazism. A complete bibliography of his publications is also appended.

Book LIBERAL FASCISM the Secret History of American Nazism exposed by Dr Rex Curry

Download or read book LIBERAL FASCISM the Secret History of American Nazism exposed by Dr Rex Curry written by Dead Writers Club and published by No Pledge Publishing. This book was released on 2015-07-31 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Pledge of Allegiance was the origin of the Nazi salute and Nazi behavior. Under Germany's Nazis, the swastika symbol was crossed "S" letters for "SOCIALIST" (for the National Socialist German Workers Party). Those are only two of the amazing discoveries in this blockbuster that have been left out of similar books on this topic. This blood drenched book offers eye-popping new analysis of the origins of fascism and explores the discoveries of the historian Dr. Rex Curry. Replacing conveniently manufactured myths with surprising research, the author Micky Barnetti reminds us of the history of robotic chanting en masse and on cue, accompanied by violence for anyone who refused to submit. Discover the secret of how the military salute was the origin of the fascist salute. Study the Wholecaust (of which the Holocaust was a part). Learn how the word "Fascist" is related to the word "faggot." Calling someone a fascist is the fastest way to shut someone up, defining their views as beyond the pale. But who are the real fascists in our midst? According to the author Micky Barnetti, the pledge remains the first fascist bullying that begins each day in government schools (fascist schools) in Police State USA. The quintessential Liberal Fascist isn't an SS storm trooper; it is a public school teacher brainwashing children every day for 12 years of their lives. These revelations may sound odd to modern ears, but that is because we have forgotten what fascism is. In this smart, contentious book, Barnetti turns our preconceptions upside down and shows us the unvarnished meaning of Liberal Fascism. Find out why, if the truth were taught about the Pledge of Allegiance, then everyone (other than fascist kooks) would refuse to perform Francis Bellamy's quotidian mechanical ritual. The fascist salute was performed by public officials in the USA from 1892 through 1942. What happened to the photographs and films of the American fascist salute performed by federal, state, county, and local officials? Those photos and films are rare because people don't want to know the truth. Public officials in the USA who preceded the Adolf Hitler and the Benito Mussolini were sources for the stiff-armed salute (and robotic chanting) in those countries and other foreign countries. Explore how the "ancient Roman salute" myth originated from the city of Rome in the state of New York (not Italy), Francis Bellamy's hometown. Learn about Mussolini's strange gift to the city of Rome, NY: a statue of two human male infants suckling on a female wolf. That statue remains on display in Rome, NY. Find out who you are, what you are, and how you got to be that way. Also learn who you should blame: your government's schools (fascist schools). Remove the pledge from the flag; remove flags from schools; remove schools from government. The Pointer Institute proudly presents another news-breaking volume from the Dead Writers Club (DWC) and Micky Barnetti. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this book will aid the "Stop the Pledge Foundation" to liberate children and adults from the Pledge of Allegiance.
