Book excerpt: Tyler is commercially legitimate and free of his gambling debts, although outrageous good luck and risky legerdemain played a major part. Yet, two years on, he somehow finds himself being pursued over Aintrees Grand National fences, at night and without a horse. Someone in authority believes he is in cahoots with his ex-mate Blackie who has absconded with some very damaging information. When, back in South Wales, he eventually chances upon this highly incriminating evidence that Blackie has slyly secreted, he finds himself embroiled in a major drugs dealing concern, organised under-age sex and the blue movie business. A body turns up in the boot of his car and only quick thinking allows him to dispose of the corpse before a couple of very suspect policemen come knocking his door. All he can do is use his considerable guile and street-wise talents to give the impression of complete innocence while frantically covering the tracks he has made wriggling out of any perceived association. He has a kidnap and recue bid to deal with, another body to confuse the opposition and some improbably choreographed mayhem on the golf course before he can even begin to effect the only conclusion that will clear him of any links (no pun). Bluff and double bluff is the name of Tylers game and his success or terminal failure depends on how well he plays his hand.

I could not pick which character was my fave, they were all entertaining in their own way, even serious Hannah :)” – Talking Books “A lot of the subjects addressed are pretty serious but Morey's characters all have a great sense of humour so the story has it's share of light-hearted moments and amusement. I really enjoyed this story of family, of moving forward, of letting go and of realising that you are worth it and you deserve happiness. A beautiful story complete with weddings, babies and an unexpected litter of kittens. I would definitely recommend this book.” – Beauty and Lace “Cherry Season is a fun, fast paced modern romance. Some passenger did survive to tell their stories. While the Long Point families were most receptive to guiding and supporting some of these survivors with what was left of their tattered lives, they never could have imagined how their own lives would be so intimately affected by these destitute survivors. For Mary O'Malley and her three small children, her quest to discover the fate of her missing husband would take a devastating and surprising turn. Fellow passengers, Toby Ryan, a restless 19 year old Irish immigrant had stored up enough hate, revenge and anger to keep him afloat for as long as it took, the deadly consequences of his own unfinished business hanging precariously in the balance.

In her witty and delightfully wisecracking prose, Nancy Thayer tells a heartwarming tale packed with fun, secrets, romance–and an ample dose of good cheer. When the Hot Flash friends gather at the spa to trim the Christmas tree, they share steaming mugs of hot chocolate, a few laughs, and a vow to make this holiday one to remember. And it is–but not in the cheerful, ho-ho-ho way they expected. Instead, Christmas brings family conflicts, household accidents, plane delays–and that’s just the beginning. After a hazardous holiday season, the women make resolutions that they intend to keep . . . in a perfect world. But life–and their friends and relatives–cause complications. Shirley lends financial support to her boyfriend’s schemes, which infuriates Alice, whose own son commits an act she’s not sure she can accept. Marilyn travels to Scotland and falls in love, but her octogenarian mother needs her at home. And when Polly and Faye find themselves pitted against each other by a younger woman, an they overcome this clash to make a new, entrepreneurial dream come true? Then real disaster strikes, bringing new challenges and surprising revelations. Just as every month of the year throws new problems at us all, so too does the end of the year give us the chance to reunite and put these problems into their proper perspective. And when the Hot Flash Five get together for the holidays, we should expect nothing less than the unexpected.

All Graham really wants is to be some kind of hero to his children whereas Isaac is young and naïve, and hopelessly drunk on the idea of true love. The story follows the two scientists as their trial falls apart along with their personal lives. For Isaac, a string of strange and often hilarious sexual encounters will lead him towards the love of his life while Graham, on a quest to find courage, will find the only thing that ever really mattered – his family. Faraday’s Cage explores the idiosyncrasies of marriage, casual sex, political correctness, consciousness, identity, and what it means to be happy being average.
