Book excerpt: Many people struggle with the book of Revelation because it is filled with strange symbols, numbers and bizarre images of beasts and visions. A blessing is promised (Rev 1:3) to all who read it but it cannot be received if one is intimidated by engaging the book. The key to understanding it lies in the context in which it was written which is the Old Testament. This book attempts to open up the reader to greater understanding of the book by giving the Old Testament references that John's readers would have been familiar with for the passages the Holy Spirit inspired John to write. .

The dense amount of imagery and the horrific scenes of judgment are mind-boggling and remain a mystery for many. Book The Revelation of Jesus Christ

Download or read book The Revelation of Jesus Christ written by David Crenshaw and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-08-10 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While many theological commentaries have been written on the book of Revelation, this one has been written as an easy-to-understand commentary for those without a seminary education. It is not an in-depth theological treatise for the use of trained pastors. The author is a pastor who has spent more than twenty-five years studying and teaching the book of the Revelation in various conservative churches. It is unique in that it addresses the issues of the book of Revelation from what is known as the "realized millennial," or what Dr. Jay E. Adams described as the "orthodox preterist" position. This position affirms that the events of Revelation are past (preterist) with the exception of the events in the last two chapters. The main attraction to most readers will be the fact it does not use footnotes or endnotes and is therefore much easier to read and understand. It will also be attractive because it biblically addresses the erroneous view present in much of the modern church that the events of the Revelation are still future to our time. Additionally, the book establishes how the events described in the Revelation are related to Old Testament practices and prophecies, and it demonstrates the faithfulness of God in keeping His promises to His people.

Book The Revelation of Jesus Christ

Download or read book The Revelation of Jesus Christ written by David Hall and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-10-24 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Not found on any map, the Valley of Decision is a place of indecision—a quagmire of noncommitment, stalling forward motion. It’s the anxious middle place, whose occupants include the multitudes who are still not sure what exactly to do with Jesus Christ. Polarized by life and the ways of the world, they stand here unconvinced, at the end of times, when wickedness is great and the harvest is ripe. Yet perhaps knowing more about what tomorrow brings would help those still undecided make the clear choice to freely stand with God. The Revelation of Jesus Christ—Standing in the Valley of Decision explores the book of Revelation as the source of God’s true prophecy for what our future holds. Authors David and Denise Hall offer verse-by-verse commentaries on Christ’s revelation, omitting nothing and using the Bible to interpret itself with scriptural citations supporting every point. Believers are invited to take notes and engage in active Bible study as they learn how end-time prophecies are being fulfilled today. In what time is left, the choice is clear, personal, and simple: freely stand with God and have your sins washed away and your ransom paid, or face the eternal consequence of separation. Choose now and soon, because the time of His return draws near. The time to study Revelation is now, and The Revelation of Jesus Christ—Standing in the Valley of Decision will help all those seeking truth in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
