Dans le but de lutter contre les changements climatiques en réduisant ses émissions de GES et dans le but de satisfaire de façon durable à ses besoins en énergie, la Ville de Dieppe, au Nouveau-Brunswick, aimerait choisir des options réalisables parmi les types d'énergies renouvelables et autres moyens disponible en conservation de l'énergie. L'objectif de la recherche était de proposer à la Ville de Dieppe des options en matière de réduction de la consommation d'énergie dans ses édifices municipaux. Quatre options ont été étudiées dans cette recherche : trois types d'énergies renouvelables et le toit vert. Notre recherche qualitative était basée sur une approche méthodologique de résolution de problèmes appelée pensée design. Cette approche permet de comprendre les besoins et les difficultés des personnes impliquées dans une situation problématique afin de générer des idées innovantes. Les outils de collectes de données ont été les entrevues semi-dirigées avec les responsables des bâtiments municipaux et une recension des écrits approfondie sur trois types d'énergies renouvelables et sur les toits verts. Une analyse thématique des données d'entrevues et une analyse multicritère d'aide à la décision ont été appliquées pour résumer la situation de la surconsommation d'énergie dansles édifices municipaux."--Sommaire.

Sovereign Debt Diplomacies aims to revisit the meaning of sovereign debt in relation to colonial history and postcolonial developments. It offers three main contributions. The first contribution is historical. The volume historicises a research field that has so far focused primarily on the post-1980 years. A focus on colonial debt from the 19th century building of colonial empires to the decolonisation era in the 1960s-70s fills an important gap in recent debt historiographies. Economic historians have engaged with colonialism only reluctantly or en passant, giving credence to the idea that colonialism is not a development that deserves to be treated on its own. This has led to suboptimal developments in recent scholarship. The second contribution adds a 'law and society' dimension to studies of debt. The analytical payoff of the exercise is to capture the current developments and functional limits of debt contracting and adjudication in relation to the long-term political and sociological dynamics of sovereignty. Finally, Sovereign Debt Diplomacies imports insights from, and contributes to the body of research currently developed in the Humanities under the label 'colonial and postcolonial studies'. The emphasis on 'history from below' and focus on 'subaltern agency' usefully complement the traditional elite-perspective on financial imperialism favoured by the British school of empire history.

The most common strategy for addressing this kind of transgression relies on policing and prisons. But through examining commonly accepted typologies of high-risk intimate partner violence, Ardath Whynacht shows that policing can be understood as part of the same root problem as the violence it seeks to mend and provides an abolitionist frame for the most dangerous forms of intimate partner violence. This book illustrates that the origins of both the carceral state and toxic masculinity are situated in settler colonialism and racial capitalism and sees police homicide and domestic homicide as akin. Describing an experience of domestic homicide in her community and providing a deeply personal analysis of some of the most recent cases of homicide in Canada, the author inhabits the complexity of seeking abolitionist justice. Insurgent Love traces the major risk factors for domestic homicide within the structures of racial capitalism and suggests transformative, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, feminist approaches for safety, prevention and justice.
