These drop burning rates were compared with the rates by a theoretical analysis based on the rate of mass transfer from a sphere in an infinite stagnant atmosphere. The experimental results also were compared with the combustion efficiencies of a full-scale, single tubular combustor operating with the same hydrocarbon and nonhydrocarbon fuels, as determined in a previous investigation.
