Book Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

Download or read book Electric and Hybrid Vehicles written by Amir Khajepour and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2014-03-05 with total page 506 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An advanced level introductory book covering fundamental aspects, design and dynamics of electric and hybrid electric vehicles There is significant demand for an understanding of the fundamentals, technologies, and design of electric and hybrid electric vehicles and their components from researchers, engineers, and graduate students. Although there is a good body of work in the literature, there is still a great need for electric and hybrid vehicle teaching materials. Electric and Hybrid Vehicles: Technologies, Modeling and Control – A Mechatronic Approach is based on the authors’ current research in vehicle systems and will include chapters on vehicle propulsion systems, the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics, EV and HEV technologies, chassis systems, steering control systems, and state, parameter and force estimations. The book is highly illustrated, and examples will be given throughout the book based on real applications and challenges in the automotive industry. Designed to help a new generation of engineers needing to master the principles of and further advances in hybrid vehicle technology Includes examples of real applications and challenges in the automotive industry with problems and solutions Takes a mechatronics approach to the study of electric and hybrid electric vehicles, appealing to mechanical and electrical engineering interests Responds to the increase in demand of universities offering courses in newer electric vehicle technologies

Book Emissions from Two Stroke Engines

Download or read book Emissions from Two Stroke Engines written by Marco Nuti and published by SAE International. This book was released on 1998-10-01 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In the design of new CI engines, it is of paramount importance to reduce the pollutants and fuel consumption," writes author Marco Nuti. In this, the first book devoted entirely to exhaust emissions from two-stroke engines, Nuti examines the technical design issues that will determine how long the two-stroke engine survives into the twenty-first century. Dr. Nuti, director of Technical Innovation at Piaggio, thoroughly explores pollutant formation and control from unburned hydrocarbon emissions, carbon monoxide emissions, catalytic aftertreatment, and secondary air addition.

Book Automotive Fuel and Emissions Control Systems

Download or read book Automotive Fuel and Emissions Control Systems written by James D. Halderman and published by Pearson Higher Ed. This book was released on 2011-11-21 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the eBook of the printed book and may not include any media, website access codes, or print supplements that may come packaged with the bound book. Automotive Fuel and Emission Control Systems, Third Edition, isdesigned specifically to correlate with the NATEF program. This comprehensive, up-to-date text covers all aspects of automotive fuel and emissions. It emphasizes diagnosis and troubleshooting, and features tech tips and diagnostic stories throughout. This title meets the needs for a textbook that combines topics in engine performance (ASE A8 content area) and topics covered in the advanced engine performance (L1) ASE test content area. By combining these two complementary subjects into one comprehensive textbook, it is easier for the instructor to teach these topics and is cost effective for the student.

Book Engine Emissions

Download or read book Engine Emissions written by George Springer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, emissions from transportation engines have been studied widely because of the contribution of such engines to atmospheric pollution. During this period the amounts of pollutants emitted, the mechanism of their formation, and means of controlling emissions have been investigated in industrial and government laboratories, as well as at universities. The results of these investigations have generally been published as individual articles in journals, transactions, meeting proceedings, and, frequently, in company reports. This proliferation of technical information makes it difficult for workers in the field to keep abreast of all developments. For this reason, the editors felt the need for a book which would survey the existing state of knowledge in wide, albeit selected areas, and would provide a guide to the relevant literature. This book is intended to fulfill this function. It is recognized that all aspects of transportation engine emissions cannot be explored in a single volume. In this book attention is focused primarily on sources and mechanisms of emission formation within the combustion process, and on measurement techniques. Beyond this objective, no re strictions were placed on the authors. Within the framework of the general theme each author has been free to treat his subject as he saw fit. The editors have not strived to replace by uniformity the highly personal and attractive divergences of style. Considerable efforts were made, however, to ensure clarity and minimum overlap between the chapters.
