Book excerpt: Fermilab experiment E835 has studied reactions {bar p}p → [pi]°[pi]°, [pi]°[eta], [eta][eta], [pi]°[eta]' and [eta][eta]' in the energy region of the [chi]{sub c0}(13 P0) from 3340 MeV to 3470 MeV. Interference between resonant and continuum production is observed in the [pi]°[pi]° and [eta][eta] channels, and the product of the input and output branching fractions is measured. Limits on resonant production are set for the [pi]°[eta] and [pi]°[eta]' channels. An indication of interference is observed in the [eta][eta]' channel. The technique for extracting resonance parameters in an environment dominated by continuum production is described.

Book excerpt: Four separate experiments (Etkin et al. [1-4]), observing the OZI forbidden disconnected reaction [pi][sup -]p [yields] [phi][phi][eta] with increasing statistics were performed, and published in journals over a period of a decade (1978-1988). All have been consistent with each other, and a few much less precise, much lower statistics experiments on the reaction later performed by others. These experiments exhibited very selective complete breakdown of the OZI suppression by 3 [phi][phi] resonances with I[sup G]J[sup PC] = 0[sup +]2[sup 2] in the observed mass region 2.038 to 2.600 GeV. The only viable proposed explanation has been that the I[sup G]J[sup PC] = 0[sup +]2[sup 2] Glueball expected in this mass region caused the hard glue in the disconnection to resonate and very selectively breakdown the OZI suppression for its quantum numbers only. Recently a p p central production spin analysis was found consistent with a single resonance named f[sub 2](1950) with a dominant decay mode f[sub 2](1270)[pi][pi](Barberis et al. [5]). In this letter we examine the evidence whether this is related to the [phi][phi] resonances.

Book excerpt: Http://dx.doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevC. 78.025204 The reaction $\pi^{-}p \to \eta n$ is investigated within a dynamical coupled-channels model of meson production reactions in the nucleon resonance region. The meson baryon channels included are $\pi N$, $\eta N$, $\pi \Delta$, $\sigma N$, and $\rho N$. The non-resonant meson-baryon interactions of the model are derived from a set of Lagrangians by using a unitary transformation method. One or two excited nucleon states in each of $S$, $P$, $D$, and $F$ partial waves are included to generate the resonant amplitudes. Data of $\pi^{-}p \to \eta n$ reaction from threshold up to a total center-of-mass energy of about 2 GeV are satisfactorily reproduced and the roles played by the following nine nucleon resonances are investigated: $S_{11}(1535)$, $S_{11}(1650)$, $P_{11}(1440)$, $P_{11}(1710)$, $P_{13}(1720)$, $D_{13}(1520)$, $D_{13}(1700)$, $D_{15}(1675)$, and $F_{15}(1680)$. The reaction mechanism as well as the predicted $\eta N$ scatte.
