Book Evaluating the Effectiveness of Nasa s Destination Tomorrow trademark 2000 2001 Program

Download or read book Evaluating the Effectiveness of Nasa s Destination Tomorrow trademark 2000 2001 Program written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-05-31 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NASA's Destination Tomorrow(trademark) series consists of 30-minute educational television programs that focus on NASA research, past, present, and future and are designed for educators, parents, and adult (lifelong) learners. Programs in this award-winning series follow a magazine style format with segments ranging from 3-5 minutes to 6-8 minutes. An associated web site provides summaries of stories and links to related program material. The development of the programs is based on educational theory, principles, and research as they pertain to how adults learn and apply knowledge. The five programs in the 2000-2001 season were produced in English and dubbed in Spanish. Telephone interviews with managers of cable access television stations were conducted in January 2002. NASA's Destination Tomorrow(trademark) interviewees reported that (1) from a programming standpoint, the most appealing aspects of the series are its production quality and educational value, (2) programs in the series are 'better than average' when compared to other education programming, (3) the programs are very credible, (4) the programs are successful in educating people about what NASA does, and (5) the programs have been 'very well received' by their audiences.Pinelli, Thomas E. and Perry, JeannineLangley Research CenterEDUCATIONAL TELEVISION; EVALUATION; EFFECTIVENESS; EDUCATION

Book excerpt: A blend of travel writing, memoir, history and current affairs that tells the story of Sri Lanka. A perfect read for first-time visitors, Sri Lankans abroad or at home, or anyone looking to deepen their understanding of one of the world’s most fascinating and paradoxical countries. Razeen Sally was born to a Sri Lankan Muslim father and a Welsh mother. Just before his teens, a political conflict tore his family apart and he left Sri Lanka, barely going back for thirty years. When he finally returned ‘home’, he spent much of the next decade crisscrossing the island, trying to understand this paradoxical place. Blessed with nature’s bounty and an easy, pleasure-loving people, it was nevertheless scarred by ethnic conflict and the violence of civil war. As a native and a tourist, Razeen Sally makes an ideal guide to Sri Lanka’s past and present. He won’t tell you which restaurant has the best reviews or the price of a hotel room. Instead, he will accompany you like a learned friend, sharing his journeys, pointing out the unmissable gems beyond the obvious spots, and unpacking the nation’s culture and history. Insightful, intimate and moving, Return to Sri Lanka is an indispensable book, whether you're already familiar with this spectacular country, or planning your first visit.

Book excerpt: BANNED IN 22 COUNTRIES . . . THE AUTHOR CLAIMS TO BE A POLITICAL PRISONER FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS PARTLY DUE TO THE PUBLICATION OF HIS CENSORED BOOK. Conspiracy Journal Presents The New Expanded Edition Of A Book That Has Caused Considerable Controversy Since It was Originally Published In The 1970s. This edition is not endorsed by: The Publisher Or Any Known UFOlogist, Conspiracy Buff, or the "Space Brothers." The author of this book and his friends say they started to delve into the UFO mystery and what they discovered is truly amazing. They circulated their finds over the years to an ever-increasing number of contacts. Whenever more reports of UFO crews speaking Germany and behaving like German soldiers or of sightings and documentation showing a UFO landing gear imprint in a clear swastika shape reached the authors, they took a closer look. There now appeared a distinguishable pattern, in proper time and date sequence, they hinted at a possible connection between the appearance of UFOs in large numbers and Hitler's possible survival and escape from Berlin. All publishers that were approached turned down the controversial nature of this manuscript. Only through the efforts of a dedicated group of individuals has this manuscript finally been published for all the world to see. Against threats and persecution, this incredible book details previously unpublished engineering drawings and illustrations of prototypes of the Secret Nazi Ships first invented toward the end of WWII. FIND OUT THE MIND-BLOWING SECRETS SURROUNDING THE GREATEST MYSTERY THAT MANKIND HAS EVER FACED...THE TRUTH ABOUT UFOS!
