Book Assessment and Evaluation of Ceramic Filter Cleaning Techniques Task Order 19

Download or read book Assessment and Evaluation of Ceramic Filter Cleaning Techniques Task Order 19 written by and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of this study was to assess and evaluate the effectiveness, appropriateness and economics of ceramic barrier filter cleaning techniques used for high-temperature and high-pressure particulate filtration. Three potential filter cleaning techniques were evaluated. These techniques include, conventional on-line pulse driven reverse gas filter cleaning, off-line reverse gas filter cleaning and a novel rapid pulse driven filter cleaning. These three ceramic filter cleaning techniques are either presently employed, or being considered for use, in the filtration of coal derived gas streams (combustion or gasification) under high-temperature high-pressure conditions. This study was divided into six subtasks: first principle analysis of ceramic barrier filter cleaning mechanisms; operational values for parameters identified with the filter cleaning mechanisms; evaluation and identification of potential ceramic filter cleaning techniques; development of conceptual designs for ceramic barrier filter systems and ceramic barrier filter cleaning systems for two DOE specified power plants; evaluation of ceramic barrier filter system cleaning techniques; and final report and presentation. Within individual sections of this report critical design and operational issues were evaluated and key findings were identified.

Book A DYNAMIC TEST METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF CLEANLINESS OF THE DOWNSTREAM SIDE OF FILTER ELEMENTS

Download or read book A DYNAMIC TEST METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF CLEANLINESS OF THE DOWNSTREAM SIDE OF FILTER ELEMENTS written by A-6C1 Fluids and Contamination Control Committee and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This test method describes a procedure for determining the insoluble contamination level of the downstream side of filter elements. Results of this procedure are intended to be used only for evaluation of the effectiveness of various cleaning treatments, or cleanliness of element as received from manufacturers. The data obtained by this procedure do not necessarily indicate, qualitatively or quantitatively, the contamination which may be released by a filter element into a fluid during service use. Because of the wide variety of conditions which may exist in service applications, it is recommended that the user design and conduct his own particular service performance test. (See paragraph 10.1).

Book Aerospace Dynamic Test Method for Determining the Relative Degree of Cleanliness of the Downstream Side of Filter Elements

Download or read book Aerospace Dynamic Test Method for Determining the Relative Degree of Cleanliness of the Downstream Side of Filter Elements written by A-6C1 Fluids and Contamination Control Committee and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) describes a procedure for determining the insoluble contamination level of the downstream side of filter elements. Results of this procedure represent the particulate released from the tested filter element under the prevailing conditions of the test. The results may be used for comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of various cleaning methods or the cleanliness of elements after cleaning or as received from manufacturers. ARP599D has been reaffirmed to comply with the SAE five-year review policy.

Book DYNAMIC TEST METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF CLEANLINESS OF THE DOWNSTREAM SIDE OF FILTER ELEMENTS

Download or read book DYNAMIC TEST METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF CLEANLINESS OF THE DOWNSTREAM SIDE OF FILTER ELEMENTS written by A-6C1 Fluids and Contamination Control Committee and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This test method describes a procedure for determining the insoluble contamination level of the downstream side of filter elements. Results of this procedure represent the particulate release rate of the tested filter element under the prevailing conditions of the test and may be used for comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of various cleaning methods or cleanliness of elements as received from manufacturers. Because of the variety of conditions which may exist even under the provisions of this procedure, it is difficult to correlate data from one testing agency to another. The data obtained by this procedure do not necessarily indicate qualitatively or quantitatively, the contamination which may be released by a filter element into the operating fluid during service. When properly conducted, however, the procedure will show marked differences between various cleanliness levels of filter elements. Because of the probability of extraneous contamination caused by conducting this test in an uncontrolled atmosphere, all operations should be conducted in an environment equivalent to that for FED-STD-209, Class 100,000.

Book Study in the Field of Fluid Contamination and the Methods Required to Restore and Evaluate the Contaminant Capacity of Used Filter Elements

Download or read book Study in the Field of Fluid Contamination and the Methods Required to Restore and Evaluate the Contaminant Capacity of Used Filter Elements written by E. C. FITCH and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contamination of hydraulic fluid filters was investigated. Performance equations for hydroclone operation were developed and experimentally verified. Hydroclones demonstrated 100% separation efficiencies for 10-micron particles. A semiautomatic hydroclone test stand was developed for obtaining separation efficiency of a filter (either hydroclone or conventional element) and for evaluation of cleaning methods. Contamination equipment included the Coulter particle counter, a chemical cleaning stand, an ultrasonic cleaning facility, and a filter evaluation stand. KC-135 and F-105 filter elements and hydraulic fluid samples were evaluated.

Download or read book Filter Element Cleaning Methods written by A-6C1 Fluids and Contamination Control Committee and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) provides technical information to assist the development of specific cleaning methods for filter elements. Consideration is limited to filter elements which are designated as "cleanable" (not "disposable"), but which cannot be cleaned by simple and obvious procedures. Cleaning methods developed according to this report should be evaluated by the methods of ARP725.Satisfactory cleaning methods can be developed for most "cleanable" filter elements. Technical or economic feasibility of the cleaning method may be limited, however, by incompatibility of filter-element construction materials, by mechanical weakness or lack of corrosion resistance to withstand repeated or continued cleaning, or by the presence of unusually tenacious contamination. These factors must be considered when selecting approaches to the development of specific methods. AIR787A has been reaffirmed to comply with the SAE five-year review policy.
