Download or read book Educational Justice written by Camila Moyano Dávila and published by IAP. This book was released on 2022-04-01 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a novel perspective on education as a social right. Literature on this topic has focused on inclusion as the universal concept whereby access to education is examined. As a moral principle, this concept opens new challenges in different ways if we take a deeper view into diverse contexts. What education? For what? For whom? Are we thinking about education because it will bring social justice in the future, or are we thinking of education as a just practice in the present? This book brings fresh theoretical and empirical perspectives on those questions, moving beyond a pure inclusion paradigm to a broader and context-oriented notion of educational justice. The chapters engage with theories of educational justice to present these challenges at the institutional level of educational policy, at the practical level of schooling practices, and in the production of ideas around childhood and education, for instance, notions of normalcy at schools. Although the featured works are related to the Chilean educational system, they opens questions about education in general. They embrace rural and urban contexts, different educational levels (from preschool to university), and university and vocational education. This book will be rewarding reading for educational scholars, those interested in theories of social and educational justice, and anyone interested in contemporary perspectives on education, childhood and youth, inclusion, and justice.

The first, which is titled “Social work”, collects papers on problems related to the social sciences, e.g. social cohesion, health, and digital technologies. Papers in the second part, “Education and teaching issues,” address qualitative aspects, education, learning, violence, diversity, disability, and ageing, while the book’s final part, “Recent trends in qualitative and quantitative models for socio-economic systems and social work”, features contributions on both qualitative and quantitative issues. The book is based on a scientific collaboration, in the social sciences, mathematics, statistics, and economics, among experts from the “Pablo de Olavide” University of Seville (Spain), the “University of Defence” of Brno (Czech Republic), the “G. Download or read book Diagn stico pedag gico written by Pascual Gómez, Isabel and published by Editorial UOC. This book was released on 2016-08-16 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Sociopolitical Dimensions of Mathematics Education

Download or read book Sociopolitical Dimensions of Mathematics Education written by Murad Jurdak and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-01-28 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book documents and expands on the diverse social and political dimensions of mathematics education issues, concerns, perspectives, contexts, and approaches presented in Topic Study Group 34 of the 13th International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME-13). The book also argues for and promotes the mainstreaming of the sociopolitical dimensions of mathematics education through an ongoing critique and inquiry into content, policies, practices and theories. Accordingly, the main theme throughout the book is captured and illuminated by bringing voices from the margin to the mainstream. In this respect it is both aspirational and a reality, as evidenced by the increasing references to the sociopolitical dimensions in other areas of mathematics education—for example, in several of the plenary presentations at the ICME-13. The authors have reflected on their ideas with a view to orienting and enhancing research in the sociopolitical dimensions of mathematics education that is grounded in current education systems within their specific sociocultural contexts.

Book Formative and Shared Assessment to Promote Global University Learning

Download or read book Formative and Shared Assessment to Promote Global University Learning written by Sánchez-Santamaría, José and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2023-07-10 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Formative and shared assessment (F&SA) implies a radical change in the way in which we understand the meaning and function of the assessment of university learning. In this sense, assessment is learning: it is not only about what the student learns but also about how the student learns. This means that any learning task involves making students aware of what and how they learn and how this learning can be used successfully in the future. Formative and Shared Assessment to Promote Global University Learning offers an updated and comprehensive review of F&SA in university teaching from an international perspective. In this regard, this publication provides an update of the concepts and approaches to F&SA and suggests a review of the methods, techniques, and instruments of F&SA as well as the conditions of validity and reliability to garner high quality. Covering topics such as feminist pedagogies, learning-oriented tasks, and student engagement, this premier reference source is an essential resource for educational administration, libraries, educators of K-12 and higher education, pre-service teachers, government officials, researchers, and academicians.
