Book excerpt: Eumundi and Friends: Hot Air Ballooning is the first book in a series of children's books about Eumundi Mouse and her new friends Julia and Hammy. In it, the book introduces how the three characters meet in a hot air balloon that has taken off without its Pilot by accident. The adventurous Eumundi Mouse is delighted at the idea of flying a hot air balloon. The very luxurious Julia is aghast when she discovers the Pilot has been left behind and Eumundi is in charge. As often happens, they get hungry and so look inside the picnic basket sitting on the floor of the hot air balloon. It is then they discover the 'always hungry' Hammy Hamster, who has already helped himself to most of the yummy delights. They get to know each other as they share food, plan their landing and make the most of the adventure. Eumundi eventually lands the balloon at a nearby farm and they find out from the farmer that he runs a 'Holiday Farm'. The story ends where the next adventure begins, with the three friends planning a holiday at the farm. Ideally suited for children aged 7 to 9 however will also suit younger children read to by an adult.Scroll up and be the FIRST to GRAB a copy TODAY.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A culture of food and friendship flows through my veins. This is the culture of the subcontinent, where a curry leaf tree grows in the garden of just about every home.' Acclaimed chef, author and TV presenter Peter Kuruvita shares over 100 vegetarian and vegan recipes that take us on a culinary journey of discovery through the subcontinent - from Bhutan, Nepal and Afghanistan to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and his home country of Sri Lanka. All the dishes in this deeply personal collection, spiced with the flavours of Peter's life and travels, reflect the diversity of the regions, their legendary hospitality, their energy and excitement, extraordinary landscapes and rich history. Peter explores a goldmine of plant-based flavours in recipes for street foods; pulses and legumes; salads; dairy-based dishes; curries, stir-fries and stews; rice; soups; chutneys; and sauces. They are supported by detailed glossaries of ingredients, as well as advice on setting up a subcontinental pantry, tempering and blending spices, and adapting authentic regional cooking methods for the home kitchen. This book is a reflection of the changing dialogue about what we eat, as the world embraces the idea of a meal where flesh is not the main event. Lands of the Curry Leaf is a celebration of all things vegetable and their growing prominence at our tables. Showing that vegetables, grains and pulses can be culinary stars, Peter takes simple, honest, health-giving ingredients, adds a host of exciting spices, and transforms them into a complete and joyous meal.

Book Life of Brine

Download or read book Life of Brine written by Phil Jarratt and published by Hardie Grant Publishing. This book was released on 2017-08-01 with total page 371 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “In the not-so-small world of surfing, Phil Jarratt has seen it all. Luckily for us, he’s a fearless, funny storyteller, with a reporter’s unsentimental eye and an endearing modesty. But his memoir is, above all, a haunting self-portrait: the boy practising drop-knee cutbacks in his mother’s full-length mirror in mid-century Wollongong becomes a man.” William Finnegan, Pulitzer Prize–winning author of Barbarian Days Life of Brine is the memoir of Phil Jarratt, one of the world’s best-known chroniclers of surfing culture whose lifelong pursuit of the perfect wave has placed him in the midst of some of the most exciting moments in surfing’s modern history. Jarratt, who has courted controversy in his long career as a journalist, editor and documentarian, pulls no punches as he rides an exhilarating wave of nostalgia from the sixties up until now, through the heady days of drugs, alcohol and excess in Bali and Biarritz and other exotic locations in between. Filled with debauchery, reflection and insight, this is a book that will be devoured by surfers young and old.
