Download or read book Building an Emergency Plan written by and published by Getty Publications. This book was released on 2000-02-03 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building an Emergency Plan provides a step-by-step guide that a cultural institution can follow to develop its own emergency preparedness and response strategy. This workbook is divided into three parts that address the three groups generally responsible for developing and implementing emergency procedures—institution directors, emergency preparedness managers, and departmental team leaders—and discuss the role each should play in devising and maintaining an effective emergency plan. Several chapters detail the practical aspects of communication, training, and forming teams to handle the safety of staff and visitors, collections, buildings, and records. Emergencies covered include natural events such as earthquakes or floods, as well as human-caused emergencies, such as fires that occur during renovation. Examples from the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, the Museo de Arte Popular Americano in Chile, the Mystic Seaport Museum in Connecticut, and the Seattle Art Museum show how cultural institutions have prepared for emergencies relevant to their sites, collections, and regions.

Download or read book Italy since 1989 written by Vittorio Bufacchi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-01-08 with total page 303 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Italy Since 1989 provides the first in-depth, fully documented account in English of the extraordinary last eleven years in Italian politics. Bufacchi and Burgess take the transition to a new Italy as their point of departure, and conduct a guided tour through the massive changes that the country has recently undergone with the collapse of the party-state, attempting to explain as well as understand events along the way. The authors provide extensive coverage of the judicial uncovering of bribery and corruption, and the journey culminates in an entirely original examination of the general election of April 1996. This revised edition includes a fresh introductory chapter, bringing up to date the chronicle of events.
Download or read book Social Democracy in Europe written by Pascal Delwit and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Socialist and Social Democratic parties leave few political observers and citizens indifferent. For several years, a certain number of actors on the political scene have presented it as a political family in crisis, lacking in imagination and dynamism, incapable of renewal and doomed to fade into insignificance. Others, on the contrary, describe it as a grouping with a promising, even brilliant future. This book does not set out to confirm either of those two visions. Its aim is to analyse in-depth the transformations which are affecting, at the current time, the different aspects of Social Democracy: new organisational models, changes in political and electoral performance, changing relations with the trade unions and civil society associations, reactions to the emergence of new political rivais and new values, new ideological trends and political programmes, etc. For the first time, the analysis does not concern exclusively Western Europe, but also deals with the Social Democratic parties of the consolidated democracies and the organisations that claim to be part of democratic socialism in Central and Eastern Europe, and highlights the specific characteristics and points in common. At the dawn of the 21st century, it is therefore the challenges and the different responses to those challenges that are analysed by several of the leading European specialists in Social Democratic parties in Europe.

Download or read book Caterpillar Club Survivor written by Ross Smith Stagg and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spitfire pilot Ross Smith Stagg was one of 33 Allied airmen to defend Darwin against Japanese invasion on May 2, 1943. As one of 14 pilots shot down or experience mechanical failure in the ensuing battle, he parachuted into the sea 18 km from land, 100 km southwest of Darwin in the Fogg Bay area. He reached the shore in a dinghy. For the next 15 days he trudged through inhospitable country in a futile attempt to return to Strauss airbase. What should have been a few days walk turned into his worst possible nightmare as he stumbled aimlessly through mosquito and crocodile infested swamps. "It was almost six days I'd been without sleep, apart from a short period of unconsciousness and those few moments before I fell out of that tree," he said. " I became demented by the cavalcade of mosquitoes and hallucinating badly". His experience was only to worsen - he waded halfway across a tidal river to be confronted by a large saltie. Darwin historian John Haslett help Stagg map the original route by retracing his steps, even managing to relocate an American Kittyhawk Stagg found crashed in the middle of nowhere.

This book was released on 1991 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CETTE THESE S'INSCRIT DANS LE DOMAINE DE L'INTELLIGENCE ARTIFICIELLE APPLIQUEE AU PROBLEME DE LA MODELISATION DE SYSTEMES DYNAMIQUES. NOUS DECRIVONS L'ARCHITECTURE D'UN GENERATEUR DE SYSTEMES EXPERTS D'AIDE A LA MODELISATION: SAMMED, BASE SUR UNE REPRESENTATION CENTREE-OBJET (SHIRKA). NOTRE OBJECTIF EST DE FOURNIR UNE REELLE ASSISTANCE AU COURS DE PROCESSUS DE MODELISATION. DANS CETTE OPTIQUE NOUS PROPOSONS UNE METHODOLOGIE DE MODELISATION PRECONISANT L'EMPLOI DE MODELES DE NATURES DIFFERENTS ET DE NIVEAUX D'ABSTRACTION CROISSANTS, DU QUALITATIF VERS LE QUANTITATIF VIA LE MODELE STRUCTUREL. UNE ANALYSE DE L'ACTIVITE DE L'UTILISATEUR NON-EXPERT NOUS A PERMIS DE SPECIFIER L'ARCHITECTURE DU SAMMED PRENANT EN COMPTE LES BESOINS EN TERME DE CONNAISSANCES DE L'UTILISATEUR. L'ARCHITECTURE DU SYSTEME EST MODULAIRE, ELLE EST CONSTITUEE PRINCIPALEMENT D'UN MODULE DE CONNAISSANCE STRUCTURE EN PLUSIEURS NIVEAUX, D'UN MODULE D'ASSISTANCE AXE SUR LE CONCEPT DE TACHE ET DE MODULES EXTERIEURS (BIBLIOTHEQUES SCIENTIFIQUES). LA PRISE EN COMPTE DE L'UTILISATEUR LORS DE LA CONCEPTION DE LA BASE DE CONNAISSANCE SE TRADUIT PAR LA PRESENCE DE TACHES NON-EXPERTES DE RECHERCHE D'INFORMATION AINSI QUE DE CRITERES DE CLASSIFICATION DE CONCEPTS SELON UN POINT DE VUE NON-EXPERT. UN EXEMPLE D'APPLICATION DE SAMMED EST DONNE, OU NOUS PRESENTONS EDORA UN SYSTEME D'AIDE A LA MODELISATION EN BIOLOGIE. CEPENDANT, UN SYSTEME INTELLIGENT D'ASSISTANCE DEVRAIT AUSSI PERMETTRE L'ACQUISITION PAR L'UTILISATEUR D'UN SAVOIR SUPPLEMENTAIRE AU COURS DE L'INTERACTION. NOUS PRESENTONS LES CONCEPTS DE BASE D'UN MODELE DE TACHE DONT LE BUT EST D'ASSURER L'APPRENTISSAGE DE L'UTILISATEUR PAR L'ACTION. L'INTEGRATION D'UN MODELE D'APPRENTISSAGE AU SEIN DU SYSTEME EXPERT DEVRAIT PERMETTRE LA CONCEPTION DE SYSTEMES PERFORMANTS D'ASSISTANCE
Download or read book SECSI written by Mokrane Bouzeghoub and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book JFIADSMA 00 written by Sylvie Pesty and published by . This book was released on 2000 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
