Book excerpt: Resumen: Con el fin de dar cumplimiento a cada uno de los objetivos planteados inicialmente por la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, los cuales buscaban una propuesta de mejoramiento para el proceso de Administración de Servicios Complementarios, se procedió a revisar detalladamente el proceso indicado, cómo se llevaba a cabo su operación, los responsables y los resultados obtenidos a partir de esta forma de trabajo, donde dio como primer resultado divergencias entre lo ejecutado y el deber ser, actividades ajenas a las responsabilidades de los funcionarios, y que a su vez generan pérdida de tiempos por el valor que le agrega a la operación. De esta forma se procedió a realizar el análisis con cada uno de los funcionarios pertenecientes a la Vicerrectoría Administrativa y Financiera y de la dependencia en mención, para establecer las causas que están generando reprocesos y tardanza en la marcha de la operación y posteriormente realizar una propuesta que se ajuste a los requerimientos de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, que apuntan al reconocimiento de la misma por la calidad de su servicio, que evidencie claridad en las responsabilidades de sus funcionarios, su verdadero alcance, el resultado esperado y la trazabilidad de estos. Este trabajo hace parte de la prueba piloto de los procesos estudiados en la institución, el cual va dirigido a dar cumplimiento a los lineamientos que se expresan en su misión y visión.

Book excerpt: Resumen: En el presente trabajo se realiza el estudio para el mejoramiento de un proceso dentro de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, correspondiente a la Vicerrectoría de Investigación Innovación y extensión, donde se inició con el análisis de una estructura de procedimientos ya establecida, en los cuales después de un arduo estudio, se encontraron falencia e inconsistencias, por lo que se decidió reestructurar cada uno de los procedimientos que componían el macroproceso (Gestión de la oferta Institucional de servicios y productos), comenzando con la modificación del nombre inicial y teniendo en cuenta un estudio y análisis detallado de las actividades que componen cada procedimiento y sus respectivos responsables, además de las duplicidades, reprocesos, cuellos de botella y riesgos, también se estructuraron los flujogramas correspondientes que nos permitieron visualizar y tener una percepción más amplia de las dependencias involucradas y del flujo de información, encontrando con todos estos análisis las posibles falencias y aspectos para mejorar, llegando a la conclusión de que la información debía ser centralizada, pero que además de debían facilitar y agilizar los trámites que componen el proceso, para así permitir el desarrollo continuo del proceso, finalmente después de algunos análisis se establecieron unos indicadores que permitirán medir el desarrollo del proceso, y así mismo establecer metas o correctivos si es necesario.

It espouses a definition of space that is heterogeneous (an object or system consisting of a diverse range of different items). An example of heterogeneous space, for instance, is Manhattan where complex and multiple social and technological conditions are overlaid. (This is to be contrasted with highly centralised and ordered Modernist cities.) With the onset of globalisation and the Web, heterogeneneous space, with its emphasis on differentiation, is more relevant to the contemporary condition, which encourages the mixing of space, than a much more static conception of Modernist space. This book foregrounds spatial issues and the potential of heterogeneous space through a threefold strategy: 1) Its compilation of seminal essays on the discourse of heterogeneous space. These are to include previously published key texts by Reyner Banham, Andrew Benjamin, Robin Evans, Jeff Kipnis and Henri Lefebvre, as well as new texts by important contemporary commentators, such as Mark Cousins, Werner Durth and Anthony Vidler. 2) By commenting on these seminal texts and drawing links between them. 3) By distilling from the first two efforts a contemporary outlook on a discourse of heterogeneous space that is of future significance.
