Book excerpt: Esta publicación presenta el Resumen Ejecutivo de la Estrategia para la Internacionalización de las Universidades Españolas, elaborada en base a lo acordado por los Ministros de Educación de los 47 países en el ámbito del proceso de Bolonia para la construcción del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior y la estrategia de internacionalización de la UE (La Educación Superior Europea en el Mundo) aprobada en 2013. Todos los países del EEES y de la UE se comprometieron a desarrollar sus estrategias nacionales de internacionalización de la educación superior. La estrategia española se desarrolló en el periodo Octubre 2014 - Marzo 2015 por un Grupo de Trabajo coordinado por la Secretaría General de Universidades con la participación de representantes de otros Ministerios (MEySS, MINECO, MINETUR, MAEC), las universidades y otros actores de la educación superior, incluyendo las empresas, las agencias de calidad y los estudiantes. Tras su aprobación formal en el MECD se constituyó un Grupo de Seguimiento del Desarrollo de la Estrategia para los dos primeros años de su implantación 2015 - 2016 que culmina ahora su mandato. Se presenta el objetivo general de la estrategia con propuesta de 28 actuaciones concretas en 4 grandes ejes estratégicos: 1) Consolidar un sistema universitario altamente internacionalizado, 2) Aumentar el atractivo internacional de las universidades, 3) Promover la competitividad internacional del entorno y 4) Intensificar la cooperación en educación superior con otras regiones del mundo.
