Book Estimation of an Origin destination Trip Table Based on Observed Link Volumes and Turning Movements User s manual

Download or read book Estimation of an Origin destination Trip Table Based on Observed Link Volumes and Turning Movements User s manual written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The LINKOD modeling system estimates a trip table based on observed link volumes and turning movements. This trip table can be used as an input to traffic assignment and/or simulation models. LINKOD is designed for small area analysis where all link volumes are known. The system is driven by the models: SMALD, a trip distibution model for small areas, and ODLINK, an adaptable trip table assignment model. SMALD estimates a trip table (the Target table) based on trip rates at sources and sinks, and the network's service level. The ODLINK model corrects an input (Target) trip table, so it best replicates the observed flows, when assigned using equilibrium assignment. The models are driven by the LINKOD software package. The package includes several computer programs which perform input data editing and extensive summaries of the results.

Book Advanced Methods in Transportation Analysis

Download or read book Advanced Methods in Transportation Analysis written by Lucio Bianco and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 621 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a compendium of papers presented during the second TRlennal Symposium on Transportation ANalysis (TRISTAN II) that took place in Capri, Italy on June 23-28, 1994. The Symposium was organized by the Progetto Finalizzato Trasporti and the Istituto di Analisi dei Sistemi ed Informatica of the Italian National Research Council jointly with the Italian Operations Research Society. The purpose of this kind of meetings is to periodically allow an exchange of views and findings by scientists in the field of transportation analysis methods and tools. Therefore, the papers presented dealt with a wide range of topics and cover the different aspects of transportation analysis. The material contained in this book gives particular emphasis to the development of mathematical modelling and algorithms. This development is due to the evolution of digital computers and the continuous increase of the computing power. In fact the need of solving large scale problems (crew scheduling, network traffic control, pollution monitoring and control,. etc ... ) involves in some case, thousands of variables and therefore sophisticated mathematical models and computational algorithms.

Book The Traffic Assignment Problem

Download or read book The Traffic Assignment Problem written by Michael Patriksson and published by Courier Dover Publications. This book was released on 2015-01-19 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph provides both a unified account of the development of models and methods for the problem of estimating equilibrium traffic flows in urban areas and a survey of the scope and limitations of present traffic models. The development is described and analyzed by the use of the powerful instruments of nonlinear optimization and mathematical programming within the field of operations research. The first part is devoted to mathematical models for the analysis of transportation network equilibria; the second deals with methods for traffic equilibrium problems. This title will interest readers wishing to extend their knowledge of equilibrium modeling and analysis and of the foundations of efficient optimization methods adapted for the solution of large-scale models. In addition to its value to researchers, the treatment is suitable for advanced graduate courses in transportation, operations research, and quantitative economics.
