Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Otard sounds like a name of a Brand of Brandy. In Southeast Asia, Otard would mean brain, but the spelling would be Otak. This is the story of Otard. This is a true story, but I classified it as fiction as it is too good to be true. No one would have believed that there is such a thing as Otard, a world brain, that manages our daily life. He cooks, cleans, and work, and settings world events. This book is about that particular person, and to clear his name as God of Great Britain, or world brain of the people. This book also deals a lot with paper works, as vision frames, or scrap books experienced and results. The author is not a competent speaker before, but now with the aid of the scrap books and vision charts, he experienced a new tongue and able to communicate freely. He is able to tell the true story of really what happened to him in Great Britain, and how he survived to today. This is the life of a brain, the life of Otard and world events.

Book excerpt: Originally published in 1980 and nominated for the Duff Cooper Prize, this was the first biography of Wyndham Lewis and was based on extensive archival research and interviews. It narrates Lewis’ years at Rugby and the Slade, his bohemian life on the Continent, the creation of Vorticism and publication of Blast, and his experiences at Passchendaele, as well as his many love affairs, his bitter quarrels with Bloomsbury and the Sitwells, the suppressed books of the thirties, the evolution of his political ideas, his self-imposed exile in North America and creative resurgence during his final blindness. Jeffrey Meyers also describes Lewis’ relationships with Roy Campbell, D. H. Lawrence, Katherine Mansfield, T. E Lawrence, Hemingway, Huxley, Yeats, Auden, Spender, Orwell and McLuhan. As the self-styled Enemy emerges from the shadows, he is seen as an independent and courageous artist and one of the most controversial and stimulating figures in modern English art and literature.

Book excerpt: ★★★ "…An epically Microscopic Adventure" ★★★ After the loss of his wife, inside poor Floyd Loveless’ body the Light escaping from his broken heart has caused destruction and dystopia for all his microscopic inhabitants. Viron, an evil dark virus lord dwells in the navel, reproducing in large numbers until it's time to strike the vulnerable break and vanquish any remaining Light. Eternal Darkness seems certain, when a small unsuspecting and potentially toxic B-cell on the run spots the billion-strong dark army preparing for all-out war, but can our little anti-hero raise the alarm before it's too late? Even if he does, the antibody clones he would produce to fight back could have adverse effects...the potential to turn on the Self. Join B and his companions on their fantastical wild ride as they journey all through the body with only one task in mind…to save Planet Floyd, which on a much-much larger scale, would give Floyd’s little daughter the best Christmas gift she could ever imagine…her father. Viron, believe it or not, is what actually happens to billions of new-born naïve B-Cells and T-Cells in our body and the challenges they face, which makes this story not only an exciting journey for all the family, but also educational and full of insight into the inner workings of our body on a fun, molecular level. It is truly remarkable!

Book Companies and Environmental Impact Identification and Visualization of Key Ecological Indicators

Download or read book Companies and Environmental Impact Identification and Visualization of Key Ecological Indicators written by Martin Knura and published by Diplomica Verlag. This book was released on 2013 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since scientists have recognised the greenhouse effect that is associated with the global warming, environmental friendly behaviour has become more important, and it is increasingly expected from companies to become more ecofriendly. This study deals with the so-called ?Greenwashing?, a marketing strategy that is discussed by the author. The author examines the company?s motivations to become ?greener?, and the relevance of IT-based environmental performance measurement to corporations. The main purpose of this study is to identify and visualize Key Ecological Indicators. Thus, the contribution of this work is the development of the theoretical foundations of KEIs, and the implementation of a KEI framework for business-processes on the basis of a case study.

Book Circulating Fluidized Bed Boilers

Download or read book Circulating Fluidized Bed Boilers written by Prabir Basu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-04-07 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: · Explains operation and scientific fundamentals of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers · Outlines practical issues in industrial use · Teaches how to optimize design for maximum reliability and efficiency · Discusses operating and maintenance issues and how to troubleshoot them This book provides practicing engineers and students with insight into the design and operation of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers through a combination of theoretical concepts and practical experience. An emphasis on combustion, hydrodynamics, heat transfer, and material issues illustrates these concepts with numerous examples from actual operating plants. The relevance of design and feed-stock parameters to the operation of a CFB boiler are also examined, along with their impacts on designs of mechanical components, including cyclones, air distributor grids, and solid recycle systems. This versatile resource explains how fluidized bed equipment works and how the basic principles of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics influence design, while providing insight into planning new projects, troubleshooting existing equipment, and appreciating the capabilities and limitations of the process. From hydrodynamics to construction and maintenance, the author covers all of the essential information needed to understand, design, operate, and maintain a complete fluidized bed system. It is a must for clean coal technology as well as for biomass power generation.

Book Enabling Health and Healthcare Through ICT

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For many people in both developing and developed countries universal healthcare is still not the norm. Socio-economic status and geographical restrictions have proved to be major barriers to accessible care. The use of information and communication technologies ICT is growing rapidly internationally as the need to provide more efficient and cost-effective care becomes increasingly urgent. Improving the health of a nation begins with the individual and recent developments in genomics and mobile networked information technologies have regenerated interest in individualizing healthcare. Harnessing the diversity and ubiquity of

Book Desiccant Assisted Cooling

Download or read book Desiccant Assisted Cooling written by Carlos Eduardo Leme Nóbrega and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-19 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The increasing concern with indoor air quality has led to air-quality standards with increased ventilation rates. Although increasing the volume flow rate of outside air is advisable from the perspective of air-quality, it is detrimental to energy consumption, since the outside air has to be brought to the comfort condition before it is insufflated to the conditioned ambient. Moreover, the humidity load carried within outside air has challenging HVAC engineers to design cooling units which are able to satisfactorily handle both sensible and latent contributions to the thermal load. This constitutes a favorable scenario for the use of solid desiccants to assist the cooling units. In fact, desiccant wheels have been increasingly applied by HVAC designers, allowing distinct processes for the air cooling and dehumidification. In fact, the ability of solid desiccants in moisture removal is effective enough to allow the use of evaporative coolers, in opposition to the traditional vapor-compression cycle, resulting in an ecologically sound system which uses only water as the refrigerant. Desiccant Assisted Cooling: Fundamentals and Applications presents different approaches to the mathematical modeling and simulation of desiccant wheels, as well as applications in thermal comfort and humidity controlled environments. Experts in the field discuss topics from enthalpy, lumped models for heat and mass transfer, and desiccant assisted radiant cooling systems, among others. Aimed at air-conditioning engineers and thermal engineering researchers, this book can also be used by graduate level students and lecturers in the field.
