Book Equivariant Poisson Algebras and Their Deformations

Download or read book Equivariant Poisson Algebras and Their Deformations written by Sebastian Zwicknagl and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dissertation investigates quadratic Poisson structures on symmetric and exterior algebras. I classify all Poisson-modules over a reductive Lie algebra g ; i.e. modules V for which the classical (skew-symmetrized) r-matrix defines a Poisson structure on the symmetric algebra S(V). I show that if a g -module V is Poisson, then the deformation quantization of S(V) admits a module algebra action of the quantized enveloping algebra Uq( g ). Moreover, it is a quantum symmetric algebra Sq( Vq) of a certain Uq( g )-module Vq. I construct these quantum symmetric algebras as subalgebras of the quantized enveloping algebra Uq( g' ), by using a description of the Poisson modules as radicals corresponding to certain parabolic subalgebras of g' . Finally, I formulate a number of conjectures and open problems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poisson structures appear in a large variety of contexts, ranging from string theory, classical/quantum mechanics and differential geometry to abstract algebra, algebraic geometry and representation theory. In each one of these contexts, it turns out that the Poisson structure is not a theoretical artifact, but a key element which, unsolicited, comes along with the problem that is investigated, and its delicate properties are decisive for the solution to the problem in nearly all cases. Poisson Structures is the first book that offers a comprehensive introduction to the theory, as well as an overview of the different aspects of Poisson structures. The first part covers solid foundations, the central part consists of a detailed exposition of the different known types of Poisson structures and of the (usually mathematical) contexts in which they appear, and the final part is devoted to the two main applications of Poisson structures (integrable systems and deformation quantization). The clear structure of the book makes it adequate for readers who come across Poisson structures in their research or for graduate students or advanced researchers who are interested in an introduction to the many facets and applications of Poisson structures.

Book Deformation Theory of Algebras and Structures and Applications

Download or read book Deformation Theory of Algebras and Structures and Applications written by Michiel Hazewinkel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 1024 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a result of a meeting which took place in June 1986 at 'll Ciocco" in Italy entitled 'Deformation theory of algebras and structures and applications'. It appears somewhat later than is perhaps desirable for a volume resulting from a summer school. In return it contains a good many results which were not yet available at the time of the meeting. In particular it is now abundantly clear that the Deformation theory of algebras is indeed central to the whole philosophy of deformations/perturbations/stability. This is one of the main results of the 254 page paper below (practically a book in itself) by Gerstenhaber and Shack entitled "Algebraic cohomology and defor mation theory". Two of the main philosphical-methodological pillars on which deformation theory rests are the fol lowing • (Pure) To study a highly complicated object, it is fruitful to study the ways in which it can arise as a limit of a family of simpler objects: "the unraveling of complicated structures" . • (Applied) If a mathematical model is to be applied to the real world there will usually be such things as coefficients which are imperfectly known. Thus it is important to know how the behaviour of a model changes as it is perturbed (deformed).

Book Deformation Quantization for Actions of R d

Download or read book Deformation Quantization for Actions of R d written by Marc Aristide Rieffel and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1993 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work describes a general construction of a deformation quantization for any Poisson bracket on a manifold which comes from an action of R ]d on that manifold. These deformation quantizations are strict, in the sense that the deformed product of any two functions is again a function and that there are corresponding involutions and operator norms. Many of the techniques involved are adapted from the theory of pseudo-differential operators. The construction is shown to have many favorable properties. A number of specific examples are described, ranging from basic ones such as quantum disks, quantum tori, and quantum spheres, to aspects of quantum groups.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The focus of this thesis is to introduce the concept of Kähler-Poisson algebras as analogues of algebras of smooth functions on Kähler manifolds. We first give here a review of the geometry of Kähler manifolds and Lie-Rinehart algebras. After that we give the definition and basic properties of Kähler-Poisson algebras. It is then shown that the Kähler type condition has consequences that allow for an identification of geometric objects in the algebra which share several properties with their classical counterparts. Furthermore, we introduce a concept of morphism between Kähler-Poisson algebras and show its consequences. Detailed examples are provided in order to illustrate the novel concepts.

Book Algebraic Groups and Quantum Groups

Download or read book Algebraic Groups and Quantum Groups written by Susumu Ariki and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2012 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the tenth international conference on Representation Theory of Algebraic Groups and Quantum Groups, held August 2-6, 2010, at Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan. The survey articles and original papers contained in this volume offer a comprehensive view of current developments in the field. Among others reflecting recent trends, one central theme is research on representations in the affine case. In three articles, the authors study representations of W-algebras and affine Lie algebras at the critical level, and three other articles are related to crystals in the affine case, that is, Mirkovic-Vilonen polytopes for affine type $A$ and Kerov-Kirillov-Reshetikhin type bijection for affine type $E_6$. Other contributions cover a variety of topics such as modular representation theory of finite groups of Lie type, quantum queer super Lie algebras, Khovanov's arc algebra, Hecke algebras and cyclotomic $q$-Schur algebras, $G_1T$-Verma modules for reductive algebraic groups, equivariant $K$-theory of quantum vector bundles, and the cluster algebra. This book is suitable for graduate students and researchers interested in geometric and combinatorial representation theory, and other related fields.

Book Geometric Models for Noncommutative Algebras

Download or read book Geometric Models for Noncommutative Algebras written by Ana Cannas da Silva and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1999 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The volume is based on a course, ``Geometric Models for Noncommutative Algebras'' taught by Professor Weinstein at Berkeley. Noncommutative geometry is the study of noncommutative algebras as if they were algebras of functions on spaces, for example, the commutative algebras associated to affine algebraic varieties, differentiable manifolds, topological spaces, and measure spaces. In this work, the authors discuss several types of geometric objects (in the usual sense of sets with structure) that are closely related to noncommutative algebras. Central to the discussion are symplectic and Poisson manifolds, which arise when noncommutative algebras are obtained by deforming commutative algebras. The authors also give a detailed study of groupoids (whose role in noncommutative geometry has been stressed by Connes) as well as of Lie algebroids, the infinitesimal approximations to differentiable groupoids. Featured are many interesting examples, applications, and exercises. The book starts with basic definitions and builds to (still) open questions. It is suitable for use as a graduate text. An extensive bibliography and index are included.

Book Calogero Moser Systems and Representation Theory

Download or read book Calogero Moser Systems and Representation Theory written by Pavel I. Etingof and published by European Mathematical Society. This book was released on 2007 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Calogero-Moser systems, which were originally discovered by specialists in integrable systems, are currently at the crossroads of many areas of mathematics and within the scope of interests of many mathematicians. More specifically, these systems and their generalizations turned out to have intrinsic connections with such fields as algebraic geometry (Hilbert schemes of surfaces), representation theory (double affine Hecke algebras, Lie groups, quantum groups), deformation theory (symplectic reflection algebras), homological algebra (Koszul algebras), Poisson geometry, etc. The goal of the present lecture notes is to give an introduction to the theory of Calogero-Moser systems, highlighting their interplay with these fields. Since these lectures are designed for non-experts, the author gives short introductions to each of the subjects involved and provides a number of exercises.
